Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to travel on a budget. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was adequate, about what we expected. Everywhere clean and tidy, rooms cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. Good night sleep had by all!

Stayed here after being in Fuengirola but needed to be close to the airport as an early flight next morning The location of this hotel is amazing - right in the heart of Malaga! El Corte Ingles is round the corner (with a supermarket in the basement) FNAC is opposite and the train station (Centro-Alameda not Maria Zambrano the main station) is very close also, first train to Aeropuerto at 0520! - what more do you need. Rooms are compact and basic but everything is there and as usual with accor very clean and tidy. Why pay more? Staff all seemed very nice and were multilingual. One gripe but this is common to lots of hotels i find why are the only English-language channels always BBC World, CNN or both - what about a channel such as BBC Entertainment? News all the time is very boring!!
Now about the floors - hotel has 4 floors (but only 1 lift?) but becuase of how it is designed (there is a parking garage underneath) the first floor is really more like an upper ground, the level not being the same full height as normal 1st floors away from street level (i hope that makes sense) If ground is 0 this is more like 0.5 rather than 1 if thats easier. Now this is like being on the ground floor in that you hear the street noise all the time and i could also hear cars crossing ramps in the car park below. This was not a problem for me on this ocassion as it normally would be (unlike where i'd just been see my previous review!) as i had an early start and never really sleep in such circumstances anyway so i didn't mind as long as i could rest which i did. I would like to stay here again and If i was to get a 4th floor room towards the end of the corridor i hope that would be fine. Another Ibis told me you could make requests when you book online but i've never found out how to do that? If the hotel read this could you advise me of your e-mail address so maybe i could do it like that next time?
Looking forward to my next stay already :)

Room Tip: Avoid the First Floor as it is really an upper ground rather than a 'proper' 1st floor.

Stayed here for three nights at the end of November, the room was adequate for our needs, the bed was comfortable and the shower powerful with plenty of hot water which was good, only downside about this place is parking! It costs €10,90 a night to park in the underground car park which is not advised on booking or anywhere on the ibis website, I even sent an email asking what parking arrangements they had but they didn't reply so discovered the charge upon arrival, the parking on the street is next to non existent as several cars seemed to stay in these and never move during our whole stay, now to the positives, the hotel has free wifi which can be logged into with a username and password provided at reception, the centre of Malaga is 10 mins walk away and a supermarket is 4-5 mins away from the hotel, it can be abit difficult to get to the hotel as the road system is a little confusing but as we had google maps on an iPhone, we managed to get to and from the hotel pretty well in our car, reception staff are friendly and advised us to get tickets to the Alhambra in Granada in advance which was correct, thank you for the advice! If I was to visit malaga again I would properly book this hotel due to the cheapness but make sure I possibly came without a car.

Location

From Malaga airport take the train to Malaga centro station. The hotel is located behind the big grey department store El Corte Ingles. If you want to visit Seville or Cordoba, take the train from Maria Zambrano station this is 10 mins walk away down Calle Cuarteles (there are two supermarkets down this street). If you want to go to Gibraltar (La linea) or Granada try the bus from the coach station at Maria Zambrano station. In 20 mins you can walk to football ground. In 20 mins you can walk to Plaza Uncibay where you have the bars and nightclubs. There is a rock one Vive Le Rock and ZZ Bar too. Also there are dance music clubs in this area.

Value

28 Euros per night is good. 10 Euros per day for underground car park, although there is a scruffy car park next door to hotel.

Facilities

Wifi was ok. It was good to use the computer at front desk. There had been insects in the room and a mosquito plug in piece was needed. There was also a buzzing from the lighting/electric equipment in room 121. I had to fall asleep with TV on every night to block it out. I'd avoid this hotel if you are a light sleeper.
