“Fabuous Gardens”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Recently visited the Jardin Botanico and was blown away. It's massive and has such a great variety of plants, vegitation and features. You could easily spend all day there with all the different tracks/routes. It's only 5 Euros entry as well and there is a regular bus from Malaga centre that is only 1.30 Euros each way and stops directly outside the Jardin gates! We had the bus to ourselves on the way back and the driver even asked us where we wanted to be dropped off. It turned out that the bus stop was really near our hotel which was a bonus. The cafe near the jardin entrance is also brilliant with sunny and shaded areas to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful. We had quiche and salad for 7 Euros which I thought was very reasonable for such fresh, large and delicious portions. Will definitely be back again next time we visit Malaga

“80 Trees?”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

Easier to get to if you don't ask the Tourist Board(that covers most things)
Get on the small HOHO red bus. It's final stop is the Botanical Gardens.
Pensioners should ask for a senior ticket- they don't assume(which irritated a young woman who paid full fare for her, obviously elderly, female companion)
It is a quiet haven on the edge of the city. There are fewer birds than you might expect and there are not many plants/ shrubs/flowers but there are many named trees
Highlight is the section labelled "Around the world in 80 trees"
A good afternoon's calm, reflective activity.

“An oasis of tranquillity and beauty”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

I just love this beautiful park just north of Malaga. It's easy to find and there are buses if you don't have the car. The hop on/hop off bus also stops outside.
It's relatively easy to walk around and a wealth of trees and plants makes for a very pleasant stroll.
The quietness makes it unique and it's wonderful to hear so many birds singing now and again.
However, it is a bit hilly in places so maybe not the easiest if you have problems walking.
The walk finishes at the cafeteria where they have a simply delicious home made selection of light snacks, as well as tea, coffee and other drinks.
Well worth a visit!

“Enjoyable but unexceptional”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

Arrived via cheap bus from the city centre, didn't mind the walk to the gardens from the bus stop but it would have been nice to have had pavement!

Reasonable entry fee of €3.40 for the reduced student rate.

Enjoyable but unspectacular walk around the grounds (took the forest route), the highlight being the view from the top.

Moroccan meatballs at the cafe was standard while the four cheese pizza we ordered turned into a ham pizza by the time it reached our table, not ideal for the vegetarian girlfriend who started to pick away at the pizza!

Had fun but had little more reason to stay after 2/3 hours.

“An Oasis”

This is a wonderful paradise just outside the city center. Get there by bus. Nice to visit on a really hot day as there is so much shade, trees, etc.
