“Good value - modern feel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2012

Good location 5 minutes from the centre of Malaga - quiet location. Rooms are a bit prefabricated and small to be called 'suites' but clean, modern, big showers and open plan. Good value for money, free wifi, and an on-site underground car park - staff were friendly and helpful.

Really good value for money. Modern and nice with large rooms, complimentary Internet that really worked. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful.

This is one of the hotel I recommend if you want to stay in central location in Malaga. the Hotel is very neat and modern with free Wifi. Rooms are modern and spacious and can easily accomodate a big family. bathroom is spacious as well. they have a big list of free movies suitable for all family. the Hotel is 5 minutes walk to the shopping streets, 5 minutes away from Carte Ingles department store, about 30 minutes walk from the beach but it is enjoyable walk as it takes you through the tourist attraction. One big advantage for the hotel is the car park area next to the hotel. if you're planning to rent a car while there, then this 1 Euro/day car park is your best option. Breakfast is a big disappointment.
As a family, will definitely stay there again

Room Tip: A room in the Top Floors will give you a good view of the cathedral and ALCAZABA.

suite Novotel Malaga centro was one of the best Hotels that i stayed in my whole life. first of all, the decoration and style is charming and unique. suite rooms are very comfortable and nicely planned. in a small area, all needs are thought. everything was clean and new. breakfast (is not included in the room price) was very tasteful and well planned. the hotel is very close to the city centre, just 5 minutes to walk. the staff is very friendly. there is a car park but you have to pay for it, also there are places to park your car around the hotel. as negative comments; the internet pc in the lobby didn't work for 3 days, and the way from the underfloor carpark to the hotel is a bit difficult to find. but these are not that much important, the hotel was wonderful. we won't forget this hotel..

Suite Novotel usual great standard. Close to station, town, supermarkets etc

Best points about the suite concept - kitchenette, free wifi, free good range of films on demand, spacious rooms

No real issues to complain about - the small shop to buy food in the reception area is really overpriced, as is the breakfast. Plenty of nearby supermarkets (massive recently updated food hall in El Corte Ingles) and cafes for much better value (try Arte Postre right next door for a cheaper breakfast)

Book in advance and stay a while to obtain best rates

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have a more pleasant view of local square. Other rooms just look out on to car pa...

We stayed here for one week in May this year. At first sight the hotel seemed remote from the City but we soon realised it was perfectly situated and a very easy walk over the dry river bridge to the old city. The main shops, the rail and bus station, the port, and all the popular tourist attractions are easy to reach. The hotel itself was very modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was roomy with plenty of hot water. The kitchen area was just a cupboard but nice to have the sink and microwave. I would advise occupants to take a few simple utensils, such as a knife, spoon, bottle opener, a few disposable plates and napkins in the suitcase as nothing at all is provided. The large portable TV was excellent with many channels in English. No need to book for breakfast as bakers and supermarket nearby. The hotel was on the corner of two roads but was very quiet indeed. We would certainly use it again.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel was easy to find from the Malaga Centro Alameda station and also within reasonable walking distance from the main train station and the bus station (all of which we used for transportation).

It was located in a quiet side street, with a handy little cake shop/bakery round the corner. I know some have said that the location is a bit depressing, but that's not our experience. It was a typical urban neighbourhood, with people sitting in the square and gossiping. Yes, it was a little bit soulless, but that's the trade-off for no street noise.

The room was fabulous, far better than we expected, even having stayed in a similar set-up elsewhere. The bathroom had a bath and a separate waterfall shower, with excellent toiletries and great soft towels. You could separate the room using big curtains. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets felt very soft. There was a separate sofa that converted into a bed, a separate toilet, a fridge and a microwave. No plates though, so you'd have to plan before using it.

The aircon was very handy, even if Malaga is slighly cooler being on the coast. We used the free internet while we were there - just ask for the code - and found it reliable if slow. They also have an iMac in an internet corner in reception. Ideal if you need your fix of Macs whilst away (or is that just me?).

Reception staff were fine, asking us if we wanted to pay in sterling or Euros. A common thing it seems, but we always chose to pay in Euros because of the loading issues.

There's a supermarket nearby, but an even better fruit and veg market opposite the supermarket. I'd go there out of preference for truly bursting with freshness fruit. It was an experience in itself and better than buying the frozen food in reception.

So all in all, we'd stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable, central, hotel.

Room Tip: Go for one overlooking the main street, slightly better view and no obvious street noise
