We had the misfortune of visiting this restaurant on our first evening in Malaga. We usually check the TA rating of establishments before we visit, however this time we didn't...much to our detriment!

There was a spicy cod dish that caught our eye. We asked the waitress how the cod was served and she told us that it was filleted and served with a baked potato and spicy sauce. 3 out of the 4 of us opted for this dish and the other person ordered egg, chips and iberico ham.

Just over 5 minutes later the egg, chips and iberico ham and 2 of the cod dishes arrived. The eggs, chips and ham were quite greasy. The cod dish looked as bad as it tasted, it looked like a steamed cod fillet in an island of olive oil and boiled potatoes...no sign of a spicy sauce! The first person to try the cod was met with a piece of fish that was freezing cold in the middle. The second person cut into their cod to be met with the same problem. By this time the 3rd cod had arrived and surprise surprise it was also freezing cold. We made the waitress aware of the problem and she took them back to the kitchen. At this point we decided that we didn't want the meal as we couldn't fancy the food.

When one of the party went in to tell the waitress to cancel the order the chef/owner was in the process of reheating the food in the microwave! We would have expected the dish to be cooked again from scratch. The chef/owner became quite obnoxious and rude and ranted on about how he had bought the cod and how he expected us to pay for it. It was only when he was asked how would he know which dish belonged to who that he backed down. We didn't pay for the 3 cod dishes however any reputable restaurant would have apologised and wouldn't have expected us to pay for anything given the dreadful experience.

This was one of the first tapas bars we ate at in Spain and it was disappointing. We only really got a table because every other restaurant was full in the area.

The sangria had an odd flavour, the prawns came out as a very uninspiring and not very flavoursome dish, and the chorizo we had was overcooked and chewy.

Look elsewhere.

“waiters who lie.”
Reviewed 21 May 2013

The worst food in Malaga. I say this with confidence because it was inedible and hard to imagine how it could have been worse. I had the house specialty - barbecued leg of lamb which would be more accurately described as leg bone of lamb with gristle attached. When I ordered the dish the waiter assured me that the meat was off the bone which he denied when I complained. In fact he lied twice because there was no meat. My wife had octopus which had the texture of rubber and was equally inedible.

“Pleasant friendly lunchtime spot”
Reviewed 10 December 2012

We had lunch here including tapas. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Service a little slow, but it was very busy. Food was very enjoyable. A nice busy spot to sit outside and watch the world go by.

The attention is good. The parrillada is perfect! The food is very good. Every restaurant is slow in Spain, so they are quite good :)
