I have mixed feelings about this place... On the one hand we love the building itself it has great views both from the rooms and from the roof terrace. The front door staff are usually very attentive and very courteous and helpful. Our car was always ready within only a few minutes from requesting it. However the front desk staff was a little less than friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is excellent but the breakfast staff is apathetic at best, bordering rude. It seems like they couldn't care less about the guests.

Room Tip: Get a high floor with a water view if possible.

Perfectly located in the very centre of Malaga, the AC Hotel Malaga Palacio by Marriott is just next to the Cathedral, 1 minute walk from the Alcazaba fortress, 5 minutes walk from Picasso museum, looks over the Sea Boulevard with Botanic gardens with fountains and sculptures (highly recommended!!!).
From the terrace with a pool you have a magnificent view on the fortresses (Alcazaba and Gibralfaro) and Malaga port.
They also leave pool towels in the room, which is also very nice.
Breakfast is very good, they do scrambled eggs with the ingredients you like.

It's a pity they do not have safe boxes in rooms, but special lockers at the reception are available for free.

Room Tip: If you want a non-smokers room it's better specify it when booking a room. We'd read about r...

Both the hotel and the city were surprisingly pleasant. The rooftop pool, bar and restaurant were stunning, with wonderful views of the harbor and the mountains. The room was clean and well kept, and there was free wifi in the lobby. I didn't notice any particular noise except some during the day. One point: the $ exchange rate at the hotel was quite competitive with the banks, unless you are going to exchange $$$$, in which case banks are better. The staff was not knowledgeable about tours, or anything else except the hotel, but then Tourist Information office was unhelpful also.

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor.

I have very mixed feelings after our recent stay at the Palacio. The things which pleased were very good and those that didn't were show stoppers. The hotel has the best location and vantage points in the city. The views from the 15th floor terrace and the pool there are breathtaking and almost worth a stay here. From the restaurant you can enjoy a very nice dinner, drinks and the stunning view. The pool is a wonderful feature, but accessing it through a formal dining room is really not the thing. The buffet breakfast (15 euros) had everything you could possibly want and was delicious. Our room was nicely decorated and appointed. The bed was rock hard and there is no coffee/tea making equipment. You can get this for an additional 11 euros per day. Hours are not listed in rooms for dining facilities. Most instructions are to "call the desk" for information. Need ice? Call the desk and wait, or if you have the bucket, go to the bar (if open) and get it yourself.
Reception when we came in was total chaos. We did come in by ship, and we knew it would be busy. We waited for 5 hours to get into our room. This was an hour AFTER regular check in time. The reception area smelled terrible and scented sticks were on tables in the lobby/bar area. These made the problem worse - nauseating in fact.
The elevators are tiny and very slow. Their location and size create flow problems in the dining areas, pool and lobby.
Would I stay here again - probably not.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, at the rear of the hotel.

Stay here 20th -22nd May Great location for exploring the sites with great views. The problem with a great location in the heart of everything in a city is the noise. Street cleaning and glass bin collection at 01:30 for approx 45mins. You can't blame the hotel for this but if you want peace and quiet a hotel outside the centre of everything might be better suited. Great hotel for a short stay but facilities in the room were basic for a longer stay, no room safe, no ironing facilities and only a few hangers. Bathroom was lovely with a good powerful shower and nice fluffy towels. Plenty of shower gel and soaps provided. The room does com with a mini bar with reasonable prices. Breakfast offered good variety and the orange juice was fresh. Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. Check-in was efficient, not overly welcoming but not unfriendly. Just no explanation as to where things were but the guy who brought our baggage to the room was very nice and informed us where things were located, where to go for breakfast etc. without us asking. Door man was very helpful in the morning but the individual on duty in the afternoon /evening didn't so much as acknowledge guests while we were there. I would recommend the AC Malaga, a few minor improvements would go a long way Malaga is an amazing and beautiful city and I hope to back I would stay here again. Everything you want to see in malaga is on the door step.

Room Tip: If possible choose a room on the upper floors to eliminate some of the street noise.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in May. It was clean, rooms fine and breakfast good (except one morning when it was too busy and the service was terrible for a 4 star hotel!) The rooftop terrace is fantastic- great view and pool. It is the perfect location for exploring Malaga. The reception staff were very friendly and happy to help. Would stay again.
