“Comfortable, great breakfast”
Reviewed 4 May 2012

Well located across the old section of town. The description is a little misleading as far as the rooftop amenities and the views. Clean, good service, great but expensive breakfast. A good deal for the money. Totally recommend.

We stayed here for 5 nights in April 2012.
Malaga Centro has a great location just a few minutes walk from the Old town. The railway station and the bus station are also within walking distance (15-20 minutes) The rooms are nice and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast too.

We stayed here for two nights before Easter. I had been in email contact with the hotel prior to arrival to request one of their refurbished room, having read other reviews on here. They were very helpful and said it would be no problem but would charge an extra 10 euros a night. On arrival, I don't believe we were put into the pre-arranged refurbished part of the hotel and that is probably because they were fully booked. They did say we could change rooms after the first night when an alternative room became available but as we only had one more night, we didn't bother.

The reception staff were really nice throughout our stay and very helpful. Breakfast was okay with a wide range of options. The only gripe I have is the room - coming back to that again - it was extremely dark and dingy with barely any natural light. The room was fairly small also which didn't help to make it appealing. The free soft drinks in the mini bar is a nice touch although they were not chilled which wasn't great (and you get 1 x coke, 1 x fanta and 1 x water). I can say that the bed was very comfortable though!

The roof top pool is lovely and has been done very nicely around the bar area. We were unfortunate that the weather wasn't great and it was raining on and off. We ventured up there and sat under a canopy with our coffees to shelter from the rain and unfortunately the bar staff started packing up and had disappeared by the time the sun came back out (it was just a shower), leaving us and a number of fellow guests sitting around, wanting drinks but there were none on offer and they did not return to re-open either so we had to go elsewhere.

All in all, an okay stay but we wouldn't rush back.

Room Tip: Rooms in the corner of the hotel by the lifts are small and very, very dark! Daylight barely gets t...

I enjoyed a short stay at the Malaga Centro, arriving early in the evening after 25 hours of traveling from Seattle! Needless to say, I was pretty tired, and even in my slightly hazy state, the location was easy to find (about a 15 minute direct walk from the main bus/train station in Malaga), close enough to the old town to walk everywhere, but far enough away from it that it stayed safe and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering maps and restaurant recommendations. They also spoke a fair amount of English, which eased the traveler transition! My room was small, but adequate with a surprisingly large bathroom. The room was clean, and generally quiet even though it was street facing. A very reasonable price for value, and I appreciated the small touches including nice toiletries, and a door adjoining the bed and bath to further keep hallway noise at bay. Overall a very good experience. The winning move for me was that they kept my luggage securely locked free of charge the entire next day while I hopped a bus to Granada before returning to Malaga to catch another plane.

Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is situated a short walk from Malaga Centro metro station.
The room was small but comfortable and we appreciated the cold drinks in the fridge. As our room overlooked the front of the hotel we did not have a balcony which was a shame as it was so hot.
The old town is a short walk away so the hotel is conveniently situated for exploring Malaga on foot.
We enjoyed our stay but felt breakfast let the hotel down as it was good as some other hotels in the area and not refilled frequently.
Overall though a nice hotel for a short break

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room

Just back from a 3 night stay at the Salles Hotel and could not have chosen better - taking everything it offers into account. Good location - just out the door of the hotel, turn to your left and over the bridge and you are into the old town. As previous reviews have said it is not the most picturesque walk - but is is a very short walk only 5 mintues - and we never felt ill at ease.

We got a taxi from the airport - but got the train back - €2.80 for the two of us compared to €25 in a taxi. Arrived about 11 in the morning and were delighted to be able to check in straight away. We had booked a superior room - we were on the 4th floor and had a little balcony - the beds in the superior rooms are 2 twins pushed together instead of a double which is my only complaint. The hotel does not provide tea/coffee making facilities so it might be an idea to bring a little travel kettle. Great shower, shampoo/soap is a dispenser on the wall, little welcome kits containing toothbrush and toothpaste/ shaving cream & razor etc.

We had breakfast included which was very nice - bread/cakes/pastries/fresh fruit/ juices/ cold meats/ cheese. The hot food was scrambled eggs, lovely backon an beans. There is a machine for making coffee/ espressos/ lattes etc.

On the 6th floor there is a lovely bar and roof top pool which was open during out stay. Towels were available.

We found all the staff very pleasant and helpful - we got a late check out until 2pm and hotel kpet our bags until later in the evening.

We arrived on Good Friday so had the opportunity to see some of the Easter Processions on both good Friday and Easter Sunday which were fabulous. We had dinner in Tapeo du Cervantes on the first night( rated one on Trip advisor) and it was gorgeous. We had booked in advance. We also had diner in El Trillo on another evening and again lovely.

Malaga is a lovely city and we would definitely go back

Very convenient location close to the old town. Rooms were tasteful but a little on the small side despite a large bathroom. The AC wasn't working yet as not in season but being south facing made them very warm. Despite that I'd definitely stay again.

The roof top bar was open and is a great place to see the town and ideal for sundown drinks.

Staff were all very helpful and accommodating with the place having a good buzz to it.

Room Tip: If same price put 2 adults on the booking. Rooms facing the road are south facing and can be very wa...
