It was a memorable trip to Malaga and I must give full credit to ‘Don Curro Hotel’. We came here straight from the airport and stays for couple of days. Our room was on the top floor and it has a balcony which provides a great view over Malaga. Room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated but bed was small (not of king size) still it was comfortable and cozy. We did not find any English channel on the TV but that’s not a problem. Bathroom was also of good size and standard. Breakfast was good but can be made better. Staffs were really friendly and provide quick services.

We returned on Wednesday from the above Hotel and found it to be very good and very reasonably priced for what you get. The breakfast was not the best but certainly more than adequate. Rooms are very clean as is the rest of the hotel, but if you stay in a double room, the double bed is very small, not full size. It is between a double and a single. So if you do not mind twin beds, that is what I would go for.

The staff are always available to help you if you need assistance with anything.

We were on the top floor, Room 809 and would recommend it for the view and quietness and large balcony with table and chairs. Very sunny in the afternoon.

We hope to return again, may be in June. We have stayed at another hotel on our three previous occasions, but would definitely go back to the Don Curro.

Marian

Room Tip: Top floor, back of the hotel for view and peacefulness

In good position for all attractions. However we found it noisy mainly because of the tiled floors. Also there was a buzzing noise from the fuse box. Breakfast was quite good but could do with more variety from day to day. Good size room with comfortable beds and well serviced by staff.

Handy for the old town, the main shopping street, port and just about everything. The main railway station and the more central one are within walking distance. The rooms were very comfortable, modern and clean and quiet even thought there was a carnival going on outside.

We stayed at the Don Curro Hotel as a base in Malaga for a couple of days before heading inland to Granada. The earlier reviews had said it is a good hotel in a great location and this is certainly true. It is a modern building with perhaps not a great deal of character, but this is more than made up for in basic comfort, cleanliness and convenience. We asked in advance, and were given, a good sized room on the top floor which, to our surprise had a balcony with a great view over Malaga to the mountians beyond. The room was also nice and quiet, being well above any street noise. The breakfast, which was included in the reasonable rate, was very good and kept us going for the whole day.

The hotel is within seconds of the central shopping area, the cathedral (which is beautiful) and within easy reach of the other attractions such as the Picasso Museum (a disappointment, due to the third rate pitures they have) and the Alcazaba (not a disappointment). If you arrive by train from the airport, it is a 15 minute walk from one of the less attractive parts of the city over the very ugly dry river bed.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Don Curro as a base in underrated but mostly attractive Malaga.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor if you prefer peace and quiet and have a head for heights
