“Pleasant Stay last July”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

Having four days to spare last year on my trip to Europe I chose to get some sun in Spain. Hotel Las Vegas exceeded my expectations. It provided the value for money I paid for. Rooms were clean, service staff were friendly, breakfast was plentiful and the pool was ambient. The locality was a fair walk into town. I would definately recommend to my friends.
Malaga as a destination exceeded my expectations. In Australian terms I came thinking I was going to Surfers but what I experienced was a sophisticated Spanish city. All memories of Malaga are good.

Room Tip: I did not care as I was travelling alone. However for those trying to impress would recommend a beac...

At the end of our trip through Andalusia, we arrived in Malaga. Hotel is on the beach called Malagueta. To the city center takes about 20 minutes. You can leave a promenade by the sea and port or you can go on top of the next corridor by fortrres Alkazar,Parliament also a beautiful promenade. The rooms are comfortable, neat. Our room was next to the pool.Sitting on the terrace of our room we could watch people swim and sunbathe by the pool. The restaurant is also next to the pool. The food is excellent. I recommend this hotel for those who come just to visit Malaga because of the excellent location and good rooms,at the front desk were very friendly, the food is great but I recommend it to those who come to Malaga on summer holiday as the hotel is right on the beach which is beautiful regulated and where the water in the sea is very clean although very close to the port. On our journey from Madrid to Malaga through Andalusia we had a really lucky to be housed in a superb hotel. Las Vegas is one of them.

We stayed at the Las Vegas Hotel for 4 nights, all in all it was pretty good but it really depends on the purpose of your vacation. For us, three girlfriends who are totally stressed out from work and needed a getaway, it was the most important that we would be close to the beach, but not too far from the city. In this case the Las Vegas Hotel exceeded our expectations. The beach (La Malagueta) is only 1 minute away, including one of the many litte beach bars (called chiringuitos) where you can get your cafe con leche or any other refreshment plus seafood dishes. One thing about the beach: it is super clean, nice sand -but the water is pretty dirty. I guess its just too close to the city.
The hotel is within 15 minutes walking distance to the city center and old town, also just 10 minutes to the Port of Malaga. However, if you prefer to drive, the taxi ride never cost us more than 4 Euros, plus there is a bus stop right at the hotel (tickets for 1,50 Euro).
Now to the hotel itself:
It may be old, it may not look pretty - but the rooms are very clean, also bathrooms, towels and beds are being taken care of every day and it was quiet at night (we had an ocean facing 3 person bedroom which was a little secluded therefore we cannot really speak for other rooms). There is one BIG minus though: breakfast is terrible. I won't go into detail but really, it lacks fresh bread and variety. Luckily, you can have delicious breakfast at the beach right across the street- the chiringuito there is called La Caleta Playa, with a very sweet and friendly staff and surprisingly good and cheap breakfast (pan con tomate plus cafe con leche 3,20 euro).
Hotel staff is all in all grumpy but that didn't bother us much, in the end they were helpful whenever we needed them.
Summed up: if you want to have a few days off in the sun, with good food and friendly faces - Hotel Las Vegas will serve you well.

Room Tip: We had room 515 - the 'penthouse for three'. Superb!

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend. The hotel was very clean and bright. The bathroom was wonderful (having both bath and shower which is rare these days and I do like a bath!). A second pillow in the room would have been nice, one is rather low for us English.

The reception team were fabulous and nothing we asked of them was too much, even down to helping us find a traditional flamenco show! We couldn't fault them.

The food was fine; we only had breakfast but have had a better selection in other hotels in Malaga. The coffee was excellent and bar prices were very good indeed.

My only criticism would be the website for this hotel. We thought we paid at the time of booking but our card was only a guarantee for payment. This was rather worrying when I had to pay at the end of the stay, believing I had already paid online. This couldn't be verified until I was home. Make it clear please!

The position of the hotel was close to the beach and the views were lovely. it was quite a long walk into town to eat out though.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view; it was exceptional!

Stay here once or twice a year.
Great Location, 15 minutes scenic walk to centre, 1 minute to beach.
Clean and comfortable rooms, adequate breakfast.
Staff are pleasant and helpful if you don't treat them like staff.
Top floor rooms are best. Either side you get a great view, beach or Mansions across road.
Good balcony. Windows shut road noise IS NOT a problem.
Some other reviewers are over fussy.
For 50-70 Euros, which is the usual price I pay it is really good value for money.

Room Tip: Top Floor rooms are best. All rooms have nice balconies.

Surprisingly good 3* hotel, 25 minutes walk from the cathedral, nice gardens, close to the beach, spacious rooms, nice balcony on the first floor but no sea view. Limited choice for breakfast and unfriendly, unhelpful staff. Lot of noise from the street and the other room.

Stayed here for 3 nights after visiting friends, room was spacious and clean with a good sized balcony with table and chairs, decor a bit dated but not a huge issue. Tv in room with a few uk channels but mainly Spanish tv. Breakfast was very basic continental but plenty to choose from so quite good. Only down side was noise from traffic on main road, I had top floor sea view room which was lovely but could hear traffic with balcony door closed - needs better sound proofing all round as I was also disturbed by people in other rooms talking and moving around. All in all not bad for the price 50 euros per night including breakfast.
