“perfect position”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2012

Comfortable hotel, friendly staff, ideal position right in the centre of Malaga.
Our room overlooked the Plaza De La Constitucion, yet the room was very quiet.

I stayed with my husband in this hotel for a week in February, coincidentally Carnival time. Both the carnival and the hotel were delightful. We had a spacious comfortable room overlooking the main paved High Street, overlooking much going on but with double glazing keeping noise out if required.

Breakfast was serve yourself with a variety of choices and a different 'dish of the day' every day. Lovely helpful staff, highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is perfect for a city break. We were very lucky with teh warm weather we experienced in February which allowed us to dine outside every day and night. The hotel overlooks teh main square in the old town [Plaza del Constitucion] and it is to here that you should direct your taxi. Calle Larios, on which the front door of the hotel resides, is a pedestrian-only street, so teh taxi may drop you a fair walk from teh door if you go to the street rather than the square. If you are arriving by train, it's a 10-15 minute walk along mostly pedestrianised streets, although the surface is not very suitcase-wheel friendly!
Rooms are a good size with good storage and TVs [only CNN in English]. WiFi throughout the building is free, but you need a separate account and password for each device. Get them from reception at check-in. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful from a buffet, but tea is a bit hit or miss using the coffee machine's hot water supply. No tea-making facilities in room.
There is a roof-top bar but it is not open throughout the winter season, even if the weather is warm enough.

Room Tip: Room 414 faces the side alley so has less interesting views. 415 appears to face the back of the hot...

Hotel Larios is located in the centre of the pedestrianised street and you don't hear a thing (until you open the window!) A great location in the centre of Malaga and shops and Cathedral. Easy walking distance from all attractions and around 20 minutes from the station. Perfect. Breakfast is extra but is very good and served until noon! Lots of good coffee and delicous fresh tortilla!

... and yet we didn't hear a thing!

Great location on the main pedestrianised street, near cathedral and other attractions. Lovely art deco public spaces, and rooms that balanance tradition and all mod cons.

We'd booked to stay during the Carnaval de Malaga without realising. Lying on our very comfy bed after checking in, we thought "What is that faint sound of drums?" - then opening the window we got a deafening earful of a carnival parade passing right outside but almost unnoticeable due to very effective soundproofing.

Very good value at around £75 a night, room only. Wil definitely stay again.

Just returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel and cant fault it! Its a perfect location for being right in the centre of what the city has to offer for museums, restaurants, shops and other sight seeing places. We had a standard room that was spacious, clean and comfortable.Ample wardrobe space with free safe and drawers. Lovely large beds and a roomy bathroom - very modern decor. Our room looked over the main street which proved to be great viewing for the annual carnival procession that Malga has in February!! Breakfast was included in our deal through Travel Republic - but it is a continental breakfast, no bacon and eggs etc!!! What we did have was plenty of choice of cereals, fruit juices, ham and cheese, croissants and toast and some fresh fruit and plenty of tea and coffee! Breakfast was served until 12 midday! It was easy to find having caught the airport bus to central Malaga (2 euros each!) and got off the bus just before the start of the park. Cross the road and the hotel is at the top of the precincted street!

Room Tip: Suites look fantastic but the standard ones are excellent and comparable with deluxe rooms that we h...
