“Good choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

This hotel is a good choice for those who are budget-minded and seeking a good location. The hotel is close to the Maria Zambrano Train Station and the bus station, which is just behind the Maria Zambrano Station. (From the airport, take the train. It is faster and cheaper than the bus. It takes about 8 minutes to reach Maria Zambrano and another 8-10 minutes to walk to the hotel.) The hotel is close to the shore and not located on a busy street. Staff could be friendlier: We did not quite understand why the hotel staff appeared to be grumpy, particularly upon our arrival. If the hotel is not full, ask for a room that is away from other rooms. During our stay we had a woman next door who liked walking around on what sounded like high heels. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast (just like most others). There is local cafe around the corner, midway from the train station, which offered breakfast for 2,5€ (coffee, juice, pitufo). If you like tapas, try the tapas bar two doors down from the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is away from other rooms.

This hotel is quietly situated less than a 10 minute walk from Maria Zambrano Station in Malaga.
The staff are helpful and speak excellent English the rooms are individually airconditioned and the rooms are very clean.
Breakfast is optional at a hotel nearby consisting of 2 bread buns and jam with the option of cold meats and unlimited tea and coffee, for 3e a bargin.
I stayed for the feria and the hotel is ideally situated for bus or train travel and approx 20 mins walk to the centre of Malaga.
I highly recommend it.

I stayed in this hotel in Malaga during last summer with some friends. The staff is kind and friendly but the hotel is not in a central position and the breackfast is not so good. The price we had to pay was right.

Just back from Spain where we stayed in Hotel Zeus for two nights....could not say a bad thing about it...excellent location, within walking distance of everything...room was extremely comfortable even if a bit small...had flat screen TV, safe, air con and ceiling fan and the shower was excellent..toiletries also supplied...free wifi too......also absolutely no noise at night or morning. The two staff members we met were very nice and helpful.....all in all we would return again.....for the price it is excellent....dont understand some of the comments on here

Having spent the night at the Holiday Inn Express near Malaga airport we decided to book a night at the Hotel Zeus in Malaga.

The hotel is located relatively close to the María Zambrano railway station and not too far from the main streets of Malaga.

Both my son and myself feel that it was the worst hotel experience of out tour. The bed frame did not appear attached to the headboard as the pillow kept slipping between the gap and I had to keep pushing the bed back against the headboard. This appeared to be a problem shared by other room occupants as throughout the night the sound of furniture being moved could be heard.

In that respect we would describe the hotel as a noisy hotel. There was also the odour of what smelt like stagnant water, dirty water, or possibly effluent that on occasions permeated through the hotel. We were not able to identify the smell but it was not nice. Fortunately it did not permeate into our room.

The following morning when we went down for breakfast we directed to the nearby Hotel Don Paco, if a recall correctly, where we were served a continental breakfast. We have wondered whether the odour that permeated the Hotel Zeus had any bearing on our being sent to another hotel for breakfast.

The Hotel Zeus was generally clean, though there were signs of peeling of wallpaper in our room. The staff were helpful, but a smile would have been nice.

We would not rate this hotel above 2 star, and neither would re return there.

Room Tip: The average mark for restaurant was based on our experience at the Hotel Don Paco where we were sent...

Zeus is super clean, daily room cleaning service is impeccable. Rooms have both A/C and ceiling fans. Not all the staff can speak English, but basic communication was ok. Both the historical city center and the nearest beach are 10-15min of pleasant walk away. Your belongings and gadgets will be safe enough left in your room out of the safe box which is there anyway. Even though our room was fairly small, it was just enough and unlike some more expensive hotels it had a wardrobe with drawers. Overall the hotel's great value for money meaning I'd definitely book it again.

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a street view room.
