“Great value and centrally located”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2012

I stayed here in February during a short break in Malaga. The hotel is spacious and the rooms on the generous side. I elected to have breakfast in my package, which was served in the cafe downstairs, which is also open to the public. The fare was simple, just juice, coffee and a large croissant, with a choice of spreads. Everything went very smoothly, and when I had difficulty using the security box, staff came up from downstairs to sort it out immediately and without fuss. Overall, this hotel is quite charming and retains an Edwardian air, with its wide corridors and huge mirrors on each floor. I will certainly use it again, as it is close to the old city and to the paseo that leads to the beach. hope they don't turn it into another boutique hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back, which I had, are apparently quieter.

We stayed for a week. The hotel was very clean and the staff most helpful. Right in the city centre by the airport bus stop. Bed was a bit hard though.

Bed and breakfast for a week for 402 Euros through booking.com

Couldn't be better

This was a great find. The airport express bus dropped us off right outside the hotel door. The hotel is in the heart of the city so no need to take taxis or buses - we could walk to all the sites, shopping, and the market. Although it was listed as a budget hotel we found it to be perfect for our needs. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Some reviews we read said that being close to the main street there was a lot of traffic noise but the hotel seemed to have been recently renovated with double glazed windows to cut out the noise so we had no problem. We booked with booking.com and got a steal of a deal at 49 Euros a night, which is about half they were charging at the chain hotels across the street. Breakfast was not included but was available for 4 Euros, which was cheaper than local restaurants.

Internet access was free but limited to the lobby area only.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Seville and it was very clean, comfortable and affordable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the bar for 5 euros was light but tasty.

The best thing is the location of the hotel - it is easy to get to from the airport as well as the train station, buses go right from Alameda Principal or it's a short walk to the bus station. It is also easy to explore the old town or walk to the beach from here.

Room Tip: We asked for a room at the back of the hotel which was relatively quiet, except for the early mornin...

We stayed in this hotel for one night as we were arriving in Malaga late before travelling to the coast the next day. The location is brilliant as the airport bus stops right outside the hotel and it is only a few minutes walk to the cathedral and the main streets where there are loads of shops and lots of great restaurants and bars.

We hadn't expected to enjoy Malaga as much as we did but it is a great city - really lively and young feel to it with lots to see and do.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. The room itself was adequate and absolutely fine for a short city break with airconditoning and fridge in the room. The decor is a little dated but nothing that would stop me from staying at the hotel again.

There is a nice little cafe attached to the hotel where we had breakfast the next morning (included in the price we paid). All in all, I think the hotel is a great find and excellent value for money.

My wife and I toured around the south of Spain in September. We stayed here for two days to see the sights in Malaga. Venecia is perfectly situated to acces all the tourist offerings and stroll to Malaga's beautiful beach. We have been using a website to get great deals on hotels and this one was no exception. We paid 102€ for two nights; a steal of a deal. We also paid for the breakfast in their on site cafe, at 4€ it was also a steal. Good food, great service. So keep in mind we do not feel we received bad value or are in any way disappointed. However...

The Venecia needs a massive upgrade. It lists it's self as a three star and it's far from that. It would be best described as an old two star. The paint is chipping and filthy. There are cigarette stains and burns in the rooms, despite listing it self as a non smoking hotel (which is extra funny as they placed a fresh clean ashtray in our room). The walls are paper thin; but the rooms at the back are at least free of street noise.

In all, if you can get a steal of a deal, do it. But if ou are paying more than 65€ a night, you good easily find better.

we stayed here prior to adjoining a cruise from the port. We chose the hotel for its location to the port and shopping area. We were not dissapointed as the hotel almost backed onto the port and crossing the road you entered the pedestrianised shopping center. The hotel was not the most modern but was very clean with a certain dated decor with large high ceiling rooms. We have stayed in nicer hotels but for location we couuldn't have found better. The shopping was as good as any british shopping center with squares and side streets worth exploring with lots of bars and tapas bars as well as museums and castles and the cathedral all adding to the atmosphere of this beautiful city. The price we paid for the hotel through Asda travel was £49 which was a bargain. We hope to return to this hotel but for a longer stay.

Room Tip: we got a corner room but a fron t room would be preffered
