“Friendly, clean, budget hotel”
Reviewed 5 February 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Venicia a few times while in Spain. Stayed in both front and rear rooms and yes the rear rooms are quieter. The location was perfect as it's located at the entrance of "old town" , with all the buses at your door step. As a matter of fact the airport bus (linea or 19) stops right in front of the hotel! Easy walking to the train and main bus station. The staff were friendly. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. I would go back again. I wish they had free internet as was the case in other hotels (not all)

The hotel is in a good location for access to the bus station. It sits on the main drag which is noisy and in my room I could hear some of this traffic noise and had to keep the window closed for maximum peace and quiet.
Overall the hotel is okay. I did not find the staff overly friendly nor did I find the room or the view pleasant. I would recommend for short stays but not for anything longer than two nights.

We have been going to Malaga for some ten years for our holidays - staying in some very cheap hotels and some very expensive. Then whilst shopping on the Calle Larios someone suggested trying the Hotel Venecia - we did and have not regretted it.

The hotel is very clean and quiet and is ideal for 'quick breaks' and when getting immersed in the Malaga way of life is more important than having an expresso in the ballroom of a grand hotel.

The hotel is across the road from the Calle Larios and is positioned amongst many small bars which are excellent for tapas.

If you are looking for a place to spent the night before going further afield then this is very convenient to get to from the airport and for getting buses to go eastwards along the coast. Also its clean, spacious for the cost and quiet. good bars a short walk away and good coffee for breakfast but probaly even better around the corner.

There aren't many budget priced hotels in Malaga, but this was one of the better ones. The hotel claimed to have English-speaking staff but such linguistic skills were scarcely in evidence during our 5 day stay. For this reason the staff came across sometimes as impersonal and perhaps better suited to the business visitor. The room was adequatewith a good en-suite, though overlooking an alleyway which could be noisy some evenings. Everything was clean and tidy but the windows and blinds didn't work properly.
Like many Malaga hotels it was room only and some of the closer cafes and bars looked a bit unsavoury, so we had to walk into town and wait for one of the nicer tea shops to open for breakfast.
The hotel was convenient for the number 19 bus to the airport and bus station. We like exploring by bus and Malaga made a good centre for seeing much of the Costa del Sol, as well as being an interesting city itself.
