Wow where to start with this market!. My girlfriend and I wanted to cook a meal together in our apartment so decided to go hunting for some fresh quality local produce. Look no further! As soon as you walk in the smells, colours & noise overwhelm.... It's unbelievable! So many fruits, vegetables, meats and fish to choose from! Really an incredible place! We chose to have some of the beautiful steaks which were cut straight from what seemed like half a cow it was so big! Very cheap prices for the quality of produce on offer! Friendly people willing to help as well. Our request of 4 mushrooms instead of a kilo was met with a chuckle but again sellers were happy to help even telling us what types they had and allowing us to taste various nibbles on the way round! We both loved it! After navigating our way round and round we bought excellent produce for our meal and I have to admit it was all delicious! The strawberries were the best I've ever tasted! Even found a spice merchant selling pink Himalayan salt which I think is exquisite & some spice rubs to take home. All in all it's a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone from couples to families! The kids will love it! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Málaga!

This is the best market we have ever been to. Everything is so fresh. Bought lots of veggies, nuts, garlic and olives. Would have loved to buy fish and meat but we are just visiting. Prices are so reasonable.

We were staying in a hotel across the street and were extremely pleased to see this place as we pulled up.
It's history, which I suggest you look up, was explained to us by the very proud local cab driver.
We called in every day it was open, during our stay in Malaga, and enjoyed as much of its fresh cheap produce as we could.
The way they display their food is more like artwork and they are all very proud of its freshness and origins.
There are quite a few places that you can enjoy a drink and tapas which makes it a "must visit" place for foodies.

Again, I've not included any photos as our fellow contributors have done a fine job of that already.

A shopping place for the locals...all kinds of food on display. You could teach a food history course in here. Clean and pretty.

Worth a visit...close to where you will be for the more ordinary tourist attractions.

No wonder this place is among the top tourist attraction in Malaga - this is a great place to find cheap fruit and veg as well as fish, nuts, bread and whatever is your desire. Also tapas prepared on the spot.
There is also a small market in El Palo, well hidden away but similar type of building and even cheaper. Good if you're staying in wonderful El Palo.
