This hotel is just across from the Central Station, however do not be misled, this is not the Central Station for all of the intercity trains, but the central station for the Metro. The hotel itself is rather a small place, with quite tiny rooms, but surprisingly with a spa bath. Breakfast was not included which is rather strange, but is offered at an extra 7 Euros (didn't try it so can not comment). Free WiFi was hit and miss for the first few hours, but seemed to recover at night. All in all, a reasonable stay in Malaga

Great welcome, and not far from the main drag (about a 10 minute walk).. Unfortunately the beds were extremely hard - so much so that we may as well have been lying on the floor - and despite it being a no smoking hotel (as I think all Spanish hotels are) the bathroom stank of cigarettes. We also didn't have a view or any natural light. We we were told there was a Spanish bar next door) and were told that we could only have one extra pillow (despite the hotel clearly being under booked). Pleased we were only staying for one night..... though others will wish to consider that the train station is very close and ideal for travelling to the airport - probably worth staying here if you have been staying elsewhere in southern Spain, want to see Malaga and have an early flight the next morning from Malaga airport. Also worth bearing in mind that Malaga is expensive and that this hotel is relatively cheap.

We stayed for two nights in December and found this hotel to be very clean, good value and efficiently run, with friendly, helpful staff. The room was pleasant with good comfortable beds, nice soft bedlinen and blackout curtains. There was a sparkling bathroom with a good shower. Also a TV with BBC News 24 and many other international channels. It's very well-situated, as it is only yards from the Malaga Centro Alameda metro station, where regular trains take you to the airport and along the coast to Fuengirola.

Breakfast was good, with something to suit everyone. In the evening, there are restaurants close by. Turn left out of the hotel and take the first left through an alleyway into the next street for a choice of three or four places to eat. There are many more places along the main road into the centre.

We definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Clean and well run, very convenient location close to Malaga Centro Almeda station which is at the end of the line from Fuengirola to Malaga, only 4 stops from the Airport. 10 min walk to the main bus and train stations in one direction and 10 min walk from the city centre in the other. Breakfast is good value especially if booked with the room.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Astoria. Very central, with the metro station right outside. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Malaga.

Stayed here for two single nights either end of a cruise from Malaga. Perfect location close to the the port, and less than a minute's walk from metro/train that runs along the coast, including the airport.
The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful on the first day, letting us have our room early and we were able to then spend a day in Benalmadena. However, on our return at the end of the cruise, we were refused an early check-in by different receptionist, and no effort was made to accommodate us early. We had to hang around from 9am to 1:30pm before we could get to our room.
We still spent a few hours in Torremolinos (15 mins away) as the local train is so convenient.
Recommended for location, but the staff could be a bit more human!!

Stayed in the Astoria for two nights prior to going on a cruise. It was excellent - conveniently located close to principal sights and easily accessible from the airport by bus (fare €2.00) or taxi (fare about €20.00). There is also a metro station within a few yards of the hotel entrance. Receptionist was friendly with good English. Room was quite pleasant and included a whirlpool bath! All in all I'd highly recommend the Astoria.
