Based in a beautiful building, this museum gives a nice overview of the vast works of Picasso (who was born in Malaga and lived there for 19 years). Arranged by theme rather than chronologically.

The pictures, sculptures and ceramics are well displayed in a beautiful Palacio and span Picasso's career. Captions and explanations are in English as well as Spanish. When we were there the museum was also displaying 11 works from Picasso's Parisian influences including Cezanne, Degas and Matisse, lent on the occasion of its tenth anniversary. Although the collection does not include Picasso's greatest works, it gives an excellent insight into the development of his art and is definitely worth a visit.

An excellent modernized building with a very good range of pictures from the early days to after his transformation to modernist "art".
Right in the heart of Malaga but good idea to look at web site for opening times and days.

beautiful building in the historic centre of Malaga. Picasso was born nearby. Must see for art lovers. Not expensive, free admission on sundays in between 18h and 20h.
