“Malaga...it's more than just an airport!”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Just back from a 3 night stay at Atarazanas Boutique Hotel and have to say it is located in an ideal position just steps away from the 'historical centre'. The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a great start to our day with plenty on offer. Our room on the 1st floor was basic, but had everything we needed and the bathroom had an excellent shower. If you are travelling in from the airport then just jump on the Line A bus as this drops you off close to the hotel. Overall great break in a nice hotel and would definitely stay again!

The Atarazanas has comfortable clean rooms with fridge & TV. The breakfast is good and includes hot food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is handy for all shops ( small supermarket next door ) fruit, vegetable and meat market across the road. Two lovely cake shops nearby & many bars, cafes & restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The bus & train station are a 15 minute walk away & there are many museums & art galleries close by also. A handy hotel and good value, recomend.

this is a really good hotel in a quite good position! not so far from the station and so near to the city center. It is in fron of the famous food market and it has many locals nearby ( also a really good one where to eat just beside). Really cleaned, kind people and spacious rooms.

Pricing: Mid-range. There is cheaper accommodation (budget, hostels, apartments) and more expensive but for location and service this is very good (book direct, 147euros with breakfast) if you can handle some noise.

Location: 5-10mins walk to everything. There is a lovely food market opposite and a supermarket next door. Out of the hotel head right and then left to shops, cafes, museums and old town, head behind the hotel to get to the port. Head left to get to the train station. You can get the trains to/from airport to trains station (Malaga Centro Alemada), just 10mins casual walk.

Hotel entrance: Period building renovated into hotel. Still has its period windows. Not easily spotted but check google maps beforehand. Compact entrance and dining/cafe area. All staff were pleasant and friendly. There is a small lift.

Rooms: Clean and compact but still convenient and bathroom is a good size (no bath). There were no drawers but there is sufficient wardrobe space. Room card turns on electricity. It also opens safe but its awkward opening the safe inside a cupboard with no lights ...

Breakfast: continental (eggs, breads, cereal, fruit, cakes, meats and cheese) was decent and filling. There are plenty of lovely cafes and tapas bars nearby if you do not take the breakfast option.

Overall we enjoyed our short trip at this hotel, it was great location for walking and met all of our needs. For us it is only let down by lack of natural light and the very poor insulation which allowed noise through the windows and walls - you could easily hear occasional loud motor engines, dogs barking and even other guests! For us noise level is important so we would not necessarily choose this one again but otherwise a very pleasant hotel.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing our hotel for your stay in Malaga.
Also, thank you to write these lines recounting his experience.
Regarding the noise heard from the street, we must tell an important novelty is that we are doing some work in the hotel where we are changing the windows with new ones.
With this we obtain an important soundproofing.
We are happy to welcome you again on your next stay.
Best Regards

Helpful, friendly staff, comfortable room. Room overlooked street, so a bit noisy, but not too bad. Shops and bars nearby. Breakfast was good - staff happy to cater for special requests (except ketchup!).

We wanted a small, central, quite little hotel in Malaga that wasn't going to cost a fortune. This was an excellent little boutique hotel - very clean, spacious rooms and excellent, helpful staff. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Malaga who wants spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms (with terrific shower), quiet rooms - and very affordable. we arrived late and staff were very friendly and helpful. Only thing we would have liked, especially when arriving late, was the added benefit of a kettle and tea/coffee facilities.

Stayed here for 3days last week before going up the coast and had a great time.Staff are very helpful and friendly, room was spacious with a good shower and was spotlessly clean. The location is great with bus and rail stations nearby , plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the market across the road.If you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the front as it can be a little noisy early in the morning. Would stay here again - great value hotel.

Room Tip: Noisy at the front of the hotel with the market opposite
