Nice rooms, excellent food, impressive view and a great swimming pool. A perfect start for our holiday. This small hotel is located quite far from the city centre on a hill overlooking Málaga, so you definitely need a car.

The hotel is really nice and the rooms are huge, but what elevates it above others is the view which is majestic. It was also a good hotel to use as a starting point to travel around the Costa del Sol since it gave easy access to the A7 to go either east or west. From the hotel we did day trips to Nerja and Frigiliana, Mijas and Marbella, Ronda and some journeys to the airport. The breakfast was really nice and quite comprehensive. All in all a great place to stay but I would say that it doesn't make sense to stay here without a car.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony, wonderful place to have a takeway while watching most of Ma...

The views are excellent, the room was lovely, but could benefit from a fridge for those really hot days and nights. The food was excellent and I didn't think it was too expensive for what we ate. Yes it was slightly cheaper in the city, but the food wasnt as good in the commercial areas. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Not got anything bad to say. We moved to the beach further down the coast after our 3 night stay but had been spoilt here. It was quiet and relaxing. We loved Malaga. Only issue I had with Malaga were the roads, it took me a couple of days to get the knack of the layout of the city, if it is the first time driving around the city, make sure you had a good map before you arrive. We found the hotel, but more through good luck than management. Once you find the Carlos haya hospital you can't go wrong, the hotel is actually signposted from here. There is a bus service from the main road near the hotel into town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Pros - views, views and more views. Pool, large rooms, wifi worked well.
Cons - no mini fridge or coffe pot/kettle in room. Only place for food was in their high end restaurant. Situated in a neighborhood with lots of barking dogs, so the noise could be an issue if you leave the windows open.

Also, you must know that you are far away from the sites. For more adventurous travellers or those on a budget, the owner should us how to walk the hill (700 meters) to the bus stop. The bus ran 4x per hour and takes you to downtown Malaga. Easy, cheap and dependable. Just be ready for a nice hike back up the hill.

I had teen boys who care more about the volume of food vs. quality, so we often brought back some food with us to the room to tied them over until the next big meal.

Room Tip: Get a balcony with a view as it is well worth it. Also bring your own water bottle, there is no bot...

I'm now having my last breakfast here at Villa Guadalupe after two-night staying.
If you're traveling with a rent cars, this will be one of the best accommodation options in Malaga : good service, facilities and of course, breathtaking view!!!
I'm definitely coming back to Malaga just for this BnB!! Thank you Candace and all the staff members!! You all will be missed!!

Althuogh we had stayed in central malaga, we booked dinner at the restauranton the night of the st Juan festival and spain v portugal match. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the food and classical flamingo demonstration. We would certainly return to this superb restaurant and the view of the city below were fantastic

Like many others we selected Villa Guadalupe by trip advisor, when we tried to book we were initially told the hotel was full - oh well never mind! within an hour we had a call from the hotel to say if we were happy to be 50 mtrs away, they could offer us an apartment for the same price! Even befrore we arrived at the hotel we were being given great service. The trip up to the hotel was adventurous, the number of new roads and road works gave our tomtom a challenge, but it was absooulutely worth it.
Lunch was lovely and accompanied by a very realistically priced bottle of wine, and just served to make us more excited about the evening.
We spent the afternoon sitting by the pool and raving about the wonderful views, a saltwater pool was a nice surprise. no beach, but at least swimming in the sea.
Dinner was simply amazing, although the chef offers a degustation menu we decided to share a starter and fish course (wonderful turbot) then my wife had fantastic Duck and I had Pork with a fantastic sauce, both were amazing. The choice of sorbets was great, we had a cosmopolitan and and a Gin and tonic both were superb. All of this whilst watch the glittering lights of malaga below us. The evening finished off with a night cap on our terrace.
This is probably not somewhere you would stay for a week (not unless you ran up and down the hills all day!) but for a short break to chill out and eat great food, it is difficult to beat.
Breakfast the following day was fine, but to be honest after the previous evening's meal, all we needed was fruit!
Take some time to look at th fantastic paintings all around the hotel.
Try it, you wont be dissapointed, if you are, please let me know I want to go where you go!!

Room Tip: Views are amazing, wish I had seen the hotel rooms, try to book a table close to the window, though...
