We came to the restaurant in June for our 25th Anniversary and decided to return for a short break and stay in the hotel. You cannot fault the service. My wife was not well on the first night and Marta and Candace arranged for Paramedics and stayed to ensure that they could translate for us. The food in the restaurant was again of the highest standard and they made up some special dishes for my wife. I can highly recommend the Guadaloupe as a super hotel in the hills overlooking Malaga.

We made reservation, based on many reviews we read, for 6 nights but we only stayed 1. There are many reason why decided to change hotel for the first time on our lifes during the trip. One is they have no double rooms! They have one double room in the entire hotel and my husband and I ended up in a twin room. There was no possibility to change the room since they have only 1 double bed and that room was booked. Via booking.com we clearly choose for double bed, which was allegedly available. Another thing was that they could not provide same room for 6 nights but instead we had to check out on day 3 and then check in after 14h again into another room. We made booking almost 2 months ahead...on my question why they did not contact us (like other hotels do) they claimed that they have no contact details - not true, other hotels for the same trip contacted us with different detals about parking, arriving, etc. Lady at the reception was absolutely not helpful... Location of the hotel is terrible, you really suffer (even by car) to get there.

Room Tip: Be carefull, hotel has no double bed rooms, only twin rooms are available. Even if they confirm in r...

I had the great pleasure of staying here for a too short break 3 nights, 10 nights or longer would have been better.
The Hotel is a stunning place with magnificent views over Malaga City €15 by taxi, my room was cosy with adequate space good sized wardrobe and a complete bathroom beds were well made and very east to sleep on.
Balcony i had requested was fully furnished with the same stunning view of Malaga andvthe sea.
What really sets this Hotel apart from the norm is the attention to detail from each member of staff everyone wanted to please and looked so happy too.
Would i go back ... you bet and i intend to next year but for longer.
Would i change anything ... maybe have a special menu board like fish f the day... but thats all.
All in all it was perfect. Great base for the car traveller.
Great pool too.
Candace thank you and all the staff for all your help and kindness during my stay

We arrived late at the beautiful Hotel Villa Guadalupe after having spent a week in Morocco. We were hot, tired and ill having picked up a bug in Fez. We made a late dinner reservation then retired to our room to get ready. But I had a fever and was in no condition to enjoy the dining room. My husband asked the Innkeeper if it would be possible to get just some soup in our room. Even though this hotel does not have room service, the Innkeeper himself delivered it! What a tremendous act of kindness! We were overwhelmed! Unfortunately, we were only staying for one night and did not get a chance to eat in that beautiful dining room, nor swim in the gorgeous infinity pool, nor lounge on the terrace and enjoy the spectacular view, but we will be back!

We spent 6 wonderful days at the Hotel Villa Guadalupe. We were made to feel more than welcome - we were at home. Our spacious room had a terrace with a fantastic view of the city and sea. We enjoyed the pool which also commands a very nice view of the city. When our arrival flight was delayed they kept the kitchen open late so that we could enjoy dinner on arriving! We walked down to the bus stop (about 10 minutes but a bit steep) and rode in airconditioned buses into Malaga to visit all the sites. We did take taxis back (form 8 to 10 Euros) because it was hoter by days end. Typically after a dip in the pool we would eat at the hotel's restaurant which is absolutely excellent (and offers a nice price break for those staying at the hotel). We will plan to go back!

We stayed for only 1 night (unfortunately) in the hotel, and we were very happy with all aspects of the place. The views from our balcony, and from where you have dinner were excellent, the restaurant food was very nice, nice swimming pool and small lounging area and the hospitality 2nd to none. They really have a great place there. We got a great deal as well and would recommend staying there if in Malaga.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room facing the city

We stayed at this hotel for the first time in October 2012, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay (see my last review on 30th October 2012).

I had to visit the Malaga region again this month, but for only a 2 day visit, and decided to stay at the Villa Guadalupe again for 1 night. It was very nice to receive a warm welcome from Candace who remembered me from our previous visit.

This time, because my booking was short notice, the only room available was without a balcony or terrace, but as it was for 1 night this was not a problem. The room was well furnished, clean, had good views over the pool area and distant mountains from a bay window, had plenty of wardrobe space, and had complimentary Wi-Fi and room safe. The en-suite bathroom was well equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean.

What really makes this hotel special is the restaurant, with magnificent views over Malaga and really excellent food prepared imaginatively by the chef Amador. The service is also friendly and efficient. There is also a large terrace just below the restaurant, which overlooks Malaga and is ideal for a pre-dinner drink. Breakfast has a reasonable choice of cereals, meat, cheese and breads with eggs cooked to order.

The hotel has a small but well maintained swimming pool with comfortable sun loungers and nearby showers and changing rooms.

Another real advantage of this hotel is the fact that car parking is free (unusual for Malaga), and although located on a hill on the outskirts of Malaga, at the bottom of the hill (which is very steep!) there is a bus stop on a direct bus route (Number 21) into the centre of Malaga, and the fare is only €1,30 each way.

Because the hotel is located in a residential area, you do need to travel by car or bus if you want to see the sights or visit the bars and restaurants of Malaga, but this was not a problem for me.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone who was looking for a smaller, more personal hotel, with good facilities and an excellent restaurant, but close enough to enjoy all that Malaga has to offer.

Room Tip: Rooms on level 2 have great views over the city and sun on the balcony for most of the day.
