Everything about this hotel was great. It's rare to find the comfort and amenities of an American chain hotel in a European hotel. I confirm that the hotel staff are all friendly and helpful. We got our room when we arrived at 11am even though check in is not till afternoon. The room on the 6th floor was clean, air conditioned, well-lit, trimmed with marble and mirrors. Big balcony, 2 windows (very soundproof and with light blocking curtains) with view on bull ring and Gibralfaro castle. The bed was two twins stuck together, but very comfortable. There was a SAFE (very important and not so common), minibar with reasonable prices. The bathroom was spacious and pretty spotless, with a bidet which gives a touch of old school luxury. It had blow dryer and even a magnifying mirror. These are rare details that I do not find in most hotels here for this price.

the roof of the hotel has a sauna, jacuzzi and hammam, all of which we enjoyed both nights. I also got a massage, and the masseuse was again friendly, competent, and clearly proud of her work (she happily described which essential oils she picked etc.)

Location-wise the hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Malagueta beach and 15 minutes walk to the pier shops/restaurants or the town center. We also appreciated that it was 5 minutes walk to the start of the walk up the Gibralfaro. There is a bus to the airport at the roundabout where the hotel is, this bus costs 3€ per person and has free wifi. Amazing.

Great job Maestranza! I would happily stay there next time I visit Malaga.

Room Tip: Higher floor = less traffic noise and better views.

Just spent three nights at the Ms and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location of the hotel is perfect for the beach and old town Malaga, which is beautiful! It is however situated on a busy road and roundabout junction, but to be honest it's quite fun watching the comings and goings.

The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The only downside was the room appointed for breakfast, I thought it was too small, especially as it's a buffet concept and coffee served out of only one coffee machine, so it got a bit overcrowded around the machine, which meant you couldn't get at the food!

Only a little niggle but it's worth a mention, they do however serve breakfast from 7:30-11:00, so maybe it would be worthwhile waiting for a later sitting.

I would definitely go back to Malaga again and the food at the beach cafés is tremendous

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, it is a perfect base for seeing Malaga. The beach (Malagueta Plaza) is just a few minutes along the road, the new port with shops and fantastic restaurants is just over the road and then it takes just 10 minutes maximum to walk into the main town.....perfect! There is a taxi rank on the corner and there are normal buses and the open top bus stops nearby. From the roof terrace of the hotel you can see right into the Bull Ring and you also get stunning views of the castle, the port and surrounding area.
I stayed room only at the hotel but did go for breakfast one morning which cost 14 Euros - really nice food but not worth the price, there are plenty of tapas bars and restaurants/bars doing food all day for far less money.
The rooms in the hotel are spacious, the beds are very comfortable and despite being on a main road, the sound proofing is brilliant! I stayed on the 6th floor and when the balcony door was closed you couldn't hear the traffic at all. Great air conditioning system and the maid was excellent leaving the room spotless every day.
Mini bar is reasonably priced and room service was great too.
The staff at reception are lovely and very friendly, I only had one problem whilst there as my shower stopped working, I went out for a few hours then came back and it had been fixed - brilliant!
There is a small gym on the 12th floor, you can book massages and a couple of treatments too although they are quite expensive and the terrace has great sun loungers for any sun worshippers! I would stay here again definitely.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better and ask for a room at the front of the hotel if you want to see a glimpse o...

I spent five days here as part of an extended tour and could not be more pleased. The location is great near the center of town and the harbor. The views from the hotel roof were an added bonus. Our tour included breakfast in the hotel which was the best of the five hotels on our tour with a variety of fresh fruit that was not available at our four previous hotels. This was also the first time we were asked if our room was okay or if we wanted to change floors. The staff at breakfast replenished all of the choices immediately so that you never were left with the, oh, I wish I had gotten one of those peaches or sweet rolls. The rooms are charming as they, as well as the entire hotel are decorated tastefully with Picasso prints. You really feel the Malaga ambiance here. The bath supplies are also top notch which is helpful when you are having an extended stay.I would recommend this hotel with complete confidence to any of my American friends.

The MS Maestranza is a great hotel in a fantastic location - very close to the beach, the marina and the old town. The airport bus stops very close to the hotel (it is the last stop). Except on a Sunday afternoon, when we arrived and all the local shops/bars were closed, there are some handy supermarkets within minutes of the hotel, and cafes and bars. The hotel is next to the bullring, which is an amazing looking building, and the "hop on / hop off" tourist bus stop is just at the other side of the bullring. The old town, with its amazing cobbled streets, tapas bars and very reasonable shops, is just a 5 - 10 minute walk, on the other side of the main Avenida Cervantes. The marina / port is a short walk. Some lovely cafe bars at the port. We totally recommend the white-themed "Small Cafe". The lovely ladies there couldn't be more polite, helpful and excellent service.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor - Room 403 - which faced the bullring, so I think this was a bit quieter th...

I stayed at this hotel for a couple nights. It is about two blocks from the beach making it an easy walk. Right behind the hotel is the big bull fighting arena. A close walk towards the beach is the port and the boardwalk with a bunch of restaurants.

The best part of the hotel for me was the breakfast buffet. They have an outstanding selection including eggs and bacon. The rooms are just ok. The decor in the rooms is outdated. If you check in I would recommend that you request a room on a high floor. They put me in a third floor room with the bull fighting arena right behind me which was fine but I think a room higher up with view of towards the ocean would be better.

It was very easy to reach to the hotel from the airport. I took a bus from the airport to the final bus stop at Plaza de General Torrijos. From the bus stop it is under a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Near the same Plaza there is a bus that passes frequently that goes straight to the bus station.

Although the beach is close the downtown area is a little far but definitely within walking distance. I would say it is about a 20 minute walk to reach the city center.

Room Tip: ask for a room higher up and facing the sea
