Although small, the CAC pulls it off with contemporary cool and some big names - and a nicely organised and displayed exhibitions. Right next to the train station it is very easy to access and find and near the town centre, shopping and other attractions so you can incorporate it to your day of sightseeing very easily.

I like art and I'm willing to go and have a look at most types of art. This place is not in a nice area and would benefit from being more central, though it's only a short walk away from the main touristy area of Malaga. Fortunately, it's free, and although it was worth going to see, there was nothing to blow me away, nothing interactive, and I think anyone who's not into art would get little from it. It is just as it says: contemporary. The fact that a large proportion of the works on show were mainly dealing with death did not increase my enjoyment of it.
However, I can still remember quite a lot of the pieces, my favourite being a small bronze(?) called "Reader", of a man totally engrossed in his book, and a colourful gun, so all was not lost!
There's a cafe and a shop, mainly selling books, in the same building.
So, give it a go - at least it's free!

CAC Malaga a great art venue, lovely big space, changing exhibits all the time, great cafe. It's on the harbour side of Alamada Principal. There are many bars and a few selling galleries close by and it's an interesting part of Malaga.
Most of the 'tick box' tourists will make it to the Picasso Museum, and maybe the Thyssen. For me CAC is way better than Thyssen( a very dull dusty repository of second rate doodlings) and a great addition to a visit to the Picasso Museum.
I can not recommend CAC Malaga highly enough for anyone into modern art.
The only downside is that so far we have never been in Malaga at the right moment to catch a private view! One day!
Go there and enjoy it.

The CAC Malaga is a place for contemporary art lovers. There are always special exhibitions that feature local and international artists. The place is huge and can show large works of art. Entrance is free and there is a good cafeteria and bookstore.

the museum is in very good condition.I visited while it was running the exhibition of Gilbert and George. It made me impression that it was free entrance, although they had famous artists.
It is very easy to find it,in the centre of the town, has also a cafe outside with some view at the river,a great sculture outside, generally it is a european museum.
