“Good location and price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2011

I stayed here for one night and for the price it is excellent. The old town of Malaga is just across the bridge and it is possible to walk to most things, including the beaches the historic sites and the shops. Transport is close by as well as the train to the airport.
The bed was a bit of a let down as it was a typical Spanish bed which is just a mattress on a metal frame. This makes for a relatively hard bed and for me the mattress wasn’t thick enough. The room was very basic and there is nowhere comfortable to sit.

Because of its location and the price, the hotel is always very busy. When I got to my room it had a double bed and a bed that fold out of the wall. As I was on my own, I asked that the other bed be put away as it becomes a sort of work surface. It was when the bed was folded away that it became obvious that it hadn’t been folded away for sometime as the carpet underneath was a lot cleaner then the rest of the carpet and showed just how dirty most of the carpet in the room was.

The hotel has a car park underneath the hotel. It wasn’t that easy to find the entrance and I ended up having to go around and around several times to find it. If you are going to stay there it would probably be better not to have a car.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night recently.
Clean rooms and nice shower in the bathroom. Decent size. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Flat screen TV with some English news channels.
Easy to find as it's just by the river. Near to the town centre and railway station - 10/15 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Located on the western side of the River Guadalmedina, the hotel is conveniently situated for the old town via a footbridge directly opposite the hotel. Although the style of the hotel is very functional, it is fairly new and is terrific value for money. We had no complaints at all and recommend the hotel as a great place to stay for a short break. Rooms are compact but well organised with super comfortable king size beds and very good showers. Rooms have a small flat screen TV. Breakfast is available at extra cost but can’t comment as we had to leave early the following morning and didn’t take breakfast.

We were there for one night, close to the centre and to the station. Nothing bad to say, nothing good. Tipical Ibis, good price, free internet in the reception area and free printing. It's ok.

I stayed at the Ibis Malaga centro recently. The hotel offers very basic hotel services but with very good standards (as other Ibis hotels). Room was a good size and washrrom modern and clean. The breakfast affordable and of very decent quality. The hotel is located a 15-20 minute walk from main Train station and close to the downtown core of the city. I would return to this property anytime.

Having only one night in Malaga, I wanted a centrally located, budget hotel that was close to public transport and the town centre and the Ibis Malaga ticked all the boxes.

It’s situated in an excellent location – only a 12 minute train ride from the airport (take the C1 line from the airport to the end station “Malaga Central Alameda”). Exit the train station and you will see the orange brick building of the NH Malaga Hotel about 100m away, the Ibis is situated directly beside it and is only a 5 minute walk from the station. The old town centre is a 10 minute walk from the hotel (ask at reception for a local map).

The check-in staff were extremely courteous and efficient and our room was exactly as we expected. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a nice, brightly lit bathroom with a large shower. Breakfast was the usual buffet of meats, cheese, bread, fruit etc. with unlimited tea, coffee and juice. All fresh and nicely presented and for only 6.50 Euro, a pretty good deal in my opinion.

My next trip to Malaga will be for a long weekend and I will be staying at this Ibis again without hesitation.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June 2011.

Location: Fantastic. 5-10 minute walk to plaza/shopping/restaurants. Malagueta beach was about a 30-40 minute walk but we were not in Malaga to go to the beach every day. We found the surrounding area to be totally safe.

Room: Comfortable bed and pillows, closet to hang clothes, flat screen TV, bench to store luggage, bathroom was nice except a bit of mold was forming in the shower since there was no fan. No safe in the room but you can use the safe service (free) through the front desk. WIFI was 5 euros for 24 hours

Service: Excellent, front desk speaks English, very welcoming/helpful
Overall: at 45 Euros a night we loved this place – probably the best value for quality out of any place we have stayed in all our travels. It was modern, very clean, and had every amenity we needed. Just as good as any place for double the price. We didn’t bother with the breakfast but the spread actually looked pretty good.

Recommendations: La Moraga (the one in the shopping/restaurant area, not the beach location, great tapas, reasonable prices). It’s definitely worth it to take a day trip to Nerja to visit the caves.
