We stayed for one night in this town centre hotel. The room was clean and a good size. The location is perfect within easy walking distance of the old town. Staff were friendly.
Our breakfast was included in the price. It was buffet style and more than adequate.
The only draw back for us was we could hear people walking about above us and in the room next door. Check out was a slow process as there was a lot of new people checking in. Although this really didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.
Overall good value for money in perfect location.

Room Tip: Our room was 352

Good stuff:
Location - central, but away from party/noise. Easy access to Renfe, beach, restaurants.
Price - very good!
Bed - new style, was really good!
WiFi worked well

Bad:
- Noisy between rooms. We had a gay-couple next door, that was having a good time, talking, packing. We did hear everything.
- The room is very small. Bed, even though very comfortable, could have been bigger. On a smallish side for a couple.
- AC could have cooled better/faster.
- Asked for a late checkout, but they could not give it. It was chaotic at 12, when everyone was checking out. Like 100 people in 30 minutes. If they let us check out at 1, it would make life easier for everyone.

Most likely, I would prefer Novotel, because of bigger room and less noise. But this is a great option, especially traveling alone. Comfortable bed, really good value!

Room Tip: Away from elevator! Corner room is the best, only 1 neighbor.

We arrived in Malaga by Renfe, from Maria-Zambrano station the hotel was about a 20 minute walk. It was easy to find however, basically two main roads. When we'd viewed maps of the locality we believed the hotel was looking over a river - well turns out this "river" is dry due to seasonal fluctuation and is basically an ugly concrete channel. A slight disappointment there but obviously not the hotel's fault haha.
Check in was smooth, the receptionist also providing us with a map and noting the main sights. Our room 303 was on the third floor and despite being right near the lift we were never disturbed by noises, thankfully. The room was standard Ibis style and was large, clean and comfortable. The facilities including air con and wifi all worked perfectly. The room looked over the aforementioned concrete "river" and a few not so pretty buildings. But oh well.
In terms of location - it's a shame there are virtually no hotels on the Malagueta beachfront in Malaga - I'm sure there must be a reason for this? We ideally would've liked to be staying right on the beach, but there were none available and the Ibis was the best option within our price range. The hotel was about half an hour walk to the beach promenade, but on the other hand only a few minutes walk to the beautiful historic old town centre.
Overall the room, facilities and everything else were great, as expected.

We stayed for just one night in this hotel and we were extremely impressed with the clealiness, the room, the location and the value for money.

We had room 352 overlooking the street and the ramblar. We were expecting noise as other reviews had indicated. But, to be honest, with the window closed it was totally silent. With the window open you heard road noise but this died down and in the early hours, if you need fresh air, it's perfectly acceptable.

The desk staff were polite and helpful. I did have to make a complaint because in room 305 some very selfish people had left their small dog on its own to bark and bark continuously. However, this was in the early evening when we were getting ready to go out for dinner. By the time we returned later, it was all quiet. Be aware though that dogs are accepted in this hotel.

The room was far better than some that in the past, for which we had paid twice as much. The bed was clean, comfortable and the linen was spotless. The shower room was equally adequate with a very large shower cublicle. The only complaint was that we had a towel each which was quite thin. I know everyone is trying to save the trees these days but please, a hand towel, plus a bath towel isn't going to make so much difference to them. If we had been staying for more than just the one night, I would have asked for extra towels. I don't think this would've been a problem as there is a policy that they will sort out any complaint in 15 minutes.

There is parking on site at an extra charge, but it is right under the hotel, so very convenient. We paid 11 euros for one day's parking which, in a city centre these days, is not bad at all.

The hotel is very convenient to shops, bars and restaurants which are minutes away. We had drinks and a meal in the city centre and paid 52 euros, which again was very good value.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel and don't be put off by the two stars, it's worth more.

Room Tip: Third floor overlooking the city.

Stayed here at the end of July and as it was perfect for what it needed I have booked again for September weekend. Fab hotel, clean and with everything you need, although rooms have no tea/coffee making facilities. If like me you like a coffee first thing throw in a travel kettle! Breakfast had everything you could possibly want , plenty of cereal, croissants, pastries and cold meats.
Hotel is perfectly placed for the main tourist area, a walk across the canal and you're there. The beach is about a half hour walk from the hotel but plenty to see and do on the way there. One tip....get the airport bus straight to the end of the road ( bus stop Parada 662 Avda. de Andalucia-Correos)for €3 instead of €25 for a cab.
