“a weekend in Malaga”
Reviewed 10 November 2011

Spent a 3 night break here. Hotel is clean and ideally located for seeing all the city sites. The staff are friendly and helpful. I had a room overlooking the inner terrace of the hotel and didn't hear any noise from the streets whatsoever. Breakfast wasn't included in the price of my stay but there is an option to eat breakfast in the hotel for 10euros. There are loads of cafes nearby if you want to eat out. The hotel is around a 7 minute walk from the Centro Metro station. The hotel isn't easy to find when you get to the main square as it is tucked just behind it but if you head to the street with Mango on one corner and Diesguel on the other, the hotel is then directly facing you. All rooms have laptops and free wi fi so ideal for those that need to stay in contact with people back home or check reviews on local restaurants/venues. Plenty to do nearby including the cathedral, Picasso museum. Well worth a walk to the the two castles but be warned they are steep hills. For those on a tight budget, visit the castles after 2pm on a Sunday when entry is free although it isn't expensive if you have to pay. The museums in Malaga close on a Monday

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room then select one that looks onto the inside terrace although I was told that...

Beware! This hotel is in the pedestrian area of Malaga and has no car access, not even for taxis. The nearest car park is at least 500 metres away and all luggage has to be carried through the streets in the sweltering heat. As the hotel staff was most unhelpful this is only suitable for the young and fit who travel light.

This was our second trip to the Petit Plaza as a family of four. Excellent family rooms with handy laptops so the kids were kept happy plus I could keep tabs on my Hotmail. Dead centre in wonderful Malaga City so at night you can open your patio doors and hear all the hubub from the streets below - fantastic. Not far from anywhere by foot - would not be useful if you had a car though, that said, public transport in and around Malaga is very good. Overall, highly recommended and we look forward to visiting this hotel again in 2012.

Stayed at this hotel for one night before meeting cruise ship next day. Found the hotel ok nothing really special. There is not a hotel bar and breakfast is not included and costs an extra 10euros. Staff were very helpful though and we were admitted to our room at 10am in morning after an early flight and being up most of previous night.
The hotel could not be better located in shadow of Malaga Cathedral and main shopping street.
There is a laptop in rooms with free internet connection.
Not a bad hotel but not great either.

Nice enough rooms, though I'm not sold on the orange decor. The location of this hotel is the real winner, it is right in the middle of everything. It is completely inaccessable by car though. Not just a bit tough, like every other Spanish city, but genuinely inaccessable. You have to park 15 mins away and walk.

Rediculously over-done showers with jets of water that add no value except being able to squeeze water troughe the little gap between the shower door, but I'd say it looked like a good idea on paper. The so called hi-tech nature meant the slowest laptop in Christendom and the wi-fi needed re-logging into every day. Not great.

However, I'm being picky, as overall it's a nice enough hotel and the location is superb.

This is a hotel in a refurbished old building in a absolute center of Malaga, a short walk to absolutely everything including the beach. The hotel has "Hi-tech" as special profile which means there is a lap-top computer in every room. "Hi-tech" profile sounds nice but there is a "Low -tech" part which should not be forgotten. We have had a room with twin beds where the madrasses rested on a wooden construction which made extreme noise at every movement. Probably it was falling apart. We have got a offer that beds would be repaired but we prefered another room. "Repaired?"-how -with glue or with some nails? Actualy the new room had beds withouth the substandard wood construction. And better wiew. So do not forget to check the beds even if you like "hi-tech" solutions.

We liked this hotel, so well situated. Big room, laptop with internet and free access in the room. Breakfast buffet very good. Have a GPS to find the nearest parking, will cost about 18 euros / day.
