My husband and I stayed for three nights as a quick winter break as we'd visited the area several times beforehand.
Our host Angel speaks excellent English and appreciated our attempts to converse in Spanish! He kindly arranged to meet us at a nearby hotel on arrival and take us up to the studio apartment, which is located on the third floor of a beautiful old building just off the main central main road through the city.
The studio itself is all one room (with shower room) separated off from the bedroom by a partitioned wall which gives it the feel of having a separate bedroom. Overall, bright, modern and airy with no less than 5 Juliet style balconies overlooking the narrow streets below. All basic mod cons such as a microwave, small kettle, toaster & cooking rings can be found in the small but well equipped kitchenette along with all the pots & pans you'd expect to find in your own kitchen.
Fresh towels were provided, along with a drawer stuffed with maps, guides & tourist information to supplement Angels friendly knowledge of the city and all you need to know. Angel also kindly provided us with some locally made cakes and Malaga wine which were a lovely welcome!
The studio is subject to a little noise from the main road when the balcony doors are open, but this can be counteracted by keeping the doors closed and the air conditioning on in the warmer summer months. Slight disturbance on the Saturday evening from a wedding party at the bar below although this was quite early on in the evening and fairly minimal.
Theres a SuperSol supermarket close by (opposite the Market Hall) for your groceries, plus lots of lovely local shops. The city centre is relatively small and most attractions are within a 10-15 minute walk of the apartment.
We'd definitely stay again next time we're in the city if the price is right!
I have just returned from a 4 night stay at this charming little apartment which I booked purely based on the recommendation of other TripAdvisor reviewers. The location is ideal, in a quiet part of old town Malaga but just moments away from the beautiful old buildings and bustling paedestrian streets of the centre. The apartment is modern with every electrical appliance you need, but in a traditional building that locals live in. The apartment has heating and air conditioning if needed.
It is just a 12 minute walk from Malaga Central railway station (and that is with luggage). Angel is the perfect host, he provides you with maps, directions, and ideas of restaurants to visit. He is just a Whatsapp message or phone call away at all times, and will respond to any query. The streets around the Cathedral are a delight to explore, and a slow amble took us to the Port and the beach beyond in just over 30 minutes.
A friend came out for 2 nights and slept on the pull out sofa double bed. For the end of January/ beginning of February we were blessed with blue skies, warm sunshine and sat in t-shirts and sunglasses at a beach bar eating freshly caught fish and drinking chilled local beer. Utter bliss.
Getting around on public transport is easy. At the airport just cross over the road to the renfe signs (railway station), and press the flag symbol in the bottom left of the ticket machine screen to turn the instructions into English. A single ticket is Euro 1.80 (pay by card, notes or coins) and then take the left hand escalator down to platform. Malaga Centro is just 5 stops and about 15 mins journey time.
The town is very flat and easy to walk around, lots of modern shops, coffee bars, tapas bars, great restaurants, though if you want a challenge then do the steep climb up to the Castello (but worth the stunning views).
So I will definitely come back to Malaga and to this apartment, as for me both are ideal an autumn, winter or spring break.
Our first and not last visit to Malaga. We were very impressed by street level cleanliness and obvious pride in the city. We enjoyed efficient and easy to use bus, train and taxi facilities all of which were inexpensive and user friendly. So much to see and do from museums, art galleries and wonderful restaurants.
Surpassing it all was the overwhelming advice, care and assistance offered daily by our host Angel. He made every effort to ensure our comfort at his well appointed apartment and to make sure we enjoyed his lovely city. His daily maps and guides were so very helpful. We must not forget the cakes and bottle of wine on our arrival. Thank you is just inadequate for it all!!!
We had a brilliant stay in Malaga, the apartment is smart, well equipped, clean and in a great location for exploring Malaga on foot. The bed was extremely comfortable, nice touches with brollies and beach towels, coffee, tea and other basic supplies provided. Lovely big windows, very effective black out curtains and a little balcony we sat out on to have breakfast. Angel, our host, was great, he provided us with loads of information and was in contact with us during our stay to help with any questions we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, we will definitely be returning next year.
This apartment is the perfect size for two people with a bedroom, good sized bathroom with plenty of storage, a living room, and small kitchen across one wall. It has everything you need and a great owner to help you get situated. There are so many lovely windows that provide good light, but all equipped with blackout curtains for a good nights sleep. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, utensils, dishes, coffee maker, washer-dryer, iron. We were welcomed with wine and sweets, great recommendations, maps, the works. Angel also makes himself available if questions come up either about Malaga or the apt. You can walk everywhere if you like to: close enough to be at the beach in 20" yet on the edge of the historic center if you don't want all the action. Its less than 3" to good restaurants and shopping. It's also a 20" walk to the train and main bus station. This is a great place to stay!

Angel was very thoughtful and considerate- he provided us with maps and places to visit which he could recommend. We received a very warm welcome- he met us at our hotel, to accompany us to the apartment which was in an excellent location in the old part of the city.
He had provided an assortment of drinks including a small bottle of the local Målaga wine with delicious local cakes. We couldn't have felt more welcome. A wonderful break.
