1st class from moment arrived- great location- wonderful setting-excellent staff.
Room was perfect- junior suite was class-sea view each morning was more than welcome.
Halloween evening outstanding- great atmosphere in and around the hotel and a lot of effort was made to create it....

Room tip: Sea view was worth the extra bit!!

We spent three nights at the Puente Romano as the last part of a holiday in Andalusia. We requested to upgrade to a newly remodelled room after having read some not-so-great reviews of the older rooms on TripAdvisor. This cost an additional 50Euro per night...probably worth arguing not to pay, but with a two-year old in tow, we couldn't be bothered.

Highlights - warm heated pools, excellent food, friendly staff, nice kids club even our two year old enjoyed. Our Junior Suite was large and had an amazing marble bathroom. I had a massage in the spa which was very good, although the spa itself was pretty, it was rather small.

Excellent restaurants - we were very surprised by the quality and authenticity of the food at the Thai restaurant - better than most in London. The Sea Grill was delicious - lovely live music and beautiful salted sea bass with veggies. All restaurants catered well to gluten free.

Downsides - if you are looking for problems, you will find them. The sand pit near the main pool was very dirty - cat litter and cockroaches found while my son was digging. Housekeeping service was erratic, one day they did not get to cleaning our room until 6pm. The layout of the resort was not well explained and it took some wandering around to get our bearings. The beach is good but not great - but nothing like the beaches in Corsica or Ibiza.

Overall - great for families, probably best to stay in the off season, I imagine it is quite chaotic in the summer. We would come back again!

Room tip: Ask for a newly renovated room!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa as the final part of your holiday in Andalusia. We are happy that you had an overall pleasant experience. It is great to hear that enjoyed the accommodation, restaurants, Six Senses Spa, and that your child had fun at the Kids’ Club. Receiving your direct feedback is very important as we rely on you, our guest, to tell us how we are doing and how we can improve. I have taken good note of your observations and shared them with the rest of the team so we can make the necessary adjustments to our services. Our extensive gardens can present a challenge with undesired situations but rest assured that I have advised the team to take immediate action about the reported situation in the pool area. We will take your observations as a motivation to generally improve our resort and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a flawless experience. The entire team remains at your disposal to assist with anything you might need and we look forward to pampering you on your next visit.

I am currently experiencing the worst night I have ever experienced in a hotel. The meal I had this evening in the SeaGrill restaurant was inedible and the worst meal I remember having in a while. The starter of grilled asparagus was hard and tasteless, followed by grilled Turbot, which contained more hard, undercooked and under-seasoned vegetables and identical to what I'd had on my starter alongside some rancid smelling greasy but dry flavourless fish. I left the entire dish. Only one member of the party of five enjoyed their food. Returned to our adjoining rooms at midnight and proceeded to lie awake with my children unable to sleep due to the party night going on until 3am and the music is so loud that the distortion is resulting in hearing the bass and melody separately so I'm lying here constantly listening to two tracks for the price of one. The weekend was supposed to be a half term treat but so far the kids are not thanking me for this! Rang reception at 1am to see how much longer. They agreed at just how loud it was and offered a change of room which was an impractical solution with children during the night. If they knew this was happening this evening, why put us in these rooms? Now 3am and Abba still playing.....nightmare.

Quite clostrophobic as you are in a garden without any view.
But the big problem in this hotel is, that some rooms and part
of the hotel have a problem with damp smell which is very
unpleasant. We had to have a air purifier machine in the room.
Management is aware of the problem but still sell the rooms.
I hate to think what it must be in the summer.
Pools are heated and nice but to small for the amount of guest.
Excellent staff.

Dear Guest,

We are pleased that the entire team was excellent and attentive; however it is concerning that we failed to fully achieve all your expectations. Puente Romano Beach Resort & Spa has a unique configuration as a little Andalusian village with extensive gardens for the enjoyment of our valued guests. I have taken good note of your observations and we will take them into account for future planning; kindly be advised that we are gradually improving our resort to hopefully better serve you on your next visit.

We would be very pleased to have another opportunity to show you our true hospitality and we look forward to welcoming you back. Do not hesitate to contact us in advance and we will be delighted to assist you with your arrangements and ensure your next stay would be very pleasant.
