I visited the hotel in March 2009 for 3 nights on a hen do. The hotel is in a brilliant location just a few minutes walk to the main harbour and close to bars and restaurants. The hotel is really big and very clean i founf but it was quiet whilst we were there. I would say off season this is full of stag and hen do's and can be very noisy during the early hours.

We had a room for 4 adults. It was all one room with very small kitchen but good sized bathroom and for 4 of us a good sized room that we were happy with.

Cant really comment on the service as we didnt spend much time in the hotel but I thought overall it was good accomodation. The pool was a good size and the hotel offered loads of facilites

3 star all the way but with superb location and price for Marbella

This was my fourth and last visit to the Pyr. I keep returning for the great location and the keen pricing but I did not get one good night's sleep. The 'Ole Ole Ole Ole!' drunks were at it every night until six in the morning! It's Soddom and Gomorrah! I have even included this place in my novel (Terror by Lance Black) for its mosquitoes and other delights. This time the air conditioning was broken. It's a great shame because it is a good value, great location hotel and the staff and cleaners are great but can anyone enjoy a holiday entirely bereft of sleep? Somewhat ironically a number of very drunk girls were shouting 'Shhhussshh!' in the corridors as they slammed doors in a drunken stupor....
Great for drunks, a nightmare for the rest of us. LB

Stayed at PYR April 2009 on Stag do in a party of 8 for 5 days during half term (one of the lads is a teacher!)

Great value for money, basic but clean apartments. Each room of 4 had 4 proper beds. Although great for stag do, its not like an 18-30's hotel, and you won't be able to trash it and run round naked like in magaluf/benidorm. But with a nicer hotel and destination you get nicer girls!!

Puerto Banus is quite expensive, not helped by current exchange rate. Pints are 3 to 6 euros, vodka and mixers are 7 to 10 euros and cocktails are 5-10 euros. But as with most places they'll give you free shots and drinks in most bars to get you in! Our main concern before we went away was price of booze, but, although its a bit pricey, our attitude is you only live once, and its not really a place to go for a weeks holiday with the lads, so it works out the same as going to ibiza//magaluf for a full week.

You don't have to be a big time charly to go to puerto banus-we're all normal lads/young professionals!None of us have ferraris and all that. While away one lad spent £1500 (casino etc!) but most of us spent about £400-500 in 5 days including day food and some nice meals (on the harbour). Best thing to do if have some drinks in room before you go out!

There is a strip of bars which are mostly free to get in (linekers is probably the best). However, there are plenty of nice bars/lounges on the harbour that are good to get warmed up for the night which are chilled and a bit classier!

Thurs,Fri and Sat are best nights for going out during the off season in April. If we were to go again we would go for 4 nights.

Great time had by all and plenty of lads stories to keep you entertained until the next bender away!!

We stayed at the Pyr for a few nights and thought it was excellent value. We paid just £50 per night for 2 people through Last Minute.com. The rooms were large and very clean and can sleep 3 comfortably. Its not a plush hotel but I think the price says it all. There are alot of groups that use it so perhaps not suited for familes.

Some of the public areas were a bit tired but its minor point. The reception staff were civil and helpful and not unfriendly as previously mentioned.

The location is superb with just a few minutes walk to everything Pueto Banus has to offer.

I would use a again for a short break.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a stag party. Rooms are large, clean and basic. Rooms have TV, balcony and even a kitchenette.
Hotel is about 10min walk from main marina.

Due to the type of Clientele this hotel attracts, it is not suited for couples who want uninterrupted sleep. Despite the numerous signs requesting ‘Silencio’, you are likely to be woken up at all hours in the morning by the antics in the corridor of returning clubbers.

If you are with a group of lads/girls, this place is fine. For couples wanting a quite/family time together, I’d look elsewhere.
