“stay at the hotel was very good”
Reviewed 9 January 2013

stay at the hotel was very good. Could put some hits like the fact of not having a bed or the location of the TV as well as the comfort of the mattress. The location was very good so the stay of the room.

Stayed over Christmas in a studio apartment. Very clean hotel, well maintained. Staff friendly, especially in the roof top cafeteria and the housekeepers. Pool area was comfortable and the pool water nicely heated. The pool area is quite small compared to the size of the hotel and after 11 a.m. it was hard to find a good spot for sunbathing.

The location is good, very short walk to the main places in the city. However, the prime location in Marbella is the other end of the paseo maritimo, where all the nice hotels and cafes are. Closer you get to Puerto Banus, the better the area gets. The old town, which is very close by, is too touristic these days, hard to find a decent restaurant.

We enjoyed 5 days in warm and sunny Spain (the temperature went up to +24 C every day, this is rare for December!). The downsides of our stay were: no wifi in the rooms, the lobby connection worked well though. Our room faced another building and had very little day light, we would have paid extra to get a sea-view, but the management of the hotel for some reason don't understand that they can price the rooms differently according to the location of the room. There is a huge difference between the room at the front of the hotel and in the back. I requested a sea-view prior to the arrival as well as at check-in, but no luck. Also the beds were quite hard (as they are in Spain) and the walls were thin, you hear everything that happens next door, but I guess this is typical for older hotels in Spain as well.

We will go back and really hope to get a sea-view next time. I would rate the hotel a very good 3-star standard.

Biggest takeaway for this review: trust your instincts and ask for directions. We passed a hotel that looked like what we were looking for, but the name didn't match exactly so we didn't think to ask inside. We spent another 30 minutes walking around looking for it, only to find that was it.

The is literally the only down side to the whole experience. The views are amazing, the apartment is huge (full kitchen), the apartment is clean, quiet, just amazing. My wife and I are both old hotel industry pros and the service here was top notch. They have laundry facilities onsite, which you need for beach living, and a convenience store on the northwest corner of the same block as the hotel. Everything you need.

The only down side is the outrageously expensive breakfast on the roof. Don't take advantage of it, plan ahead by going to the convenience store and stocking up on croissants and orange juice for early breakfasts. Quicker and cheaper.

The beaches are amazing, just make note of which one you're walking on to as some have a fairly steep charge (5-10 euro per person) just for a chair, umbrella, and nothing more. There are plenty of free ones if you get out early.

Don't expect amazing dining, this is a tourist destination to be sure and there are an unusually high number of sub-par italian restaurants. But the beaches are terrific, and if you stay at Princesa Playa hotel Apartamentos you might not even want to leave your room!

Room Tip: As far as I know they're all amazing. Just be safe and ask for a water view, and they're al...

Stayed here for one night in route to Granada. The rooms were very nice. They have a small kitchen, so we walked down to the store and picked up some items to prepare in the room for super. Sometimes it's nice to just have a simple meal in your room.
Of course the rooms closest to the beach have the better views. The balconies have a table and two chairs, so it was a great place to sit and have a glass of wine.
Don't miss the roof top patio. What a beautiful view of the sea and the city day or night. And try to have breakfast in the roof top resturant. The sun rise is out of this world and the buffet is very good.

Room Tip: Rooms closest to the beach have the beter views.

I needed some peace and quite over the Christmas period and opted for an apartment rather than the cheaper studio in the belief that I would get a full sea facing balcony and was not disappointed. The view was amazing! The reception/lobby has very warm and welcoming decor with mostly friendly, helpful, professional reception staff. My apartment, although showing signs of wear and tear, as expected at the end of a busy season, was adequately stocked to enable cooking the odd meal. Cleaning items ie brush, mop, dishes etc., would have been appreciated. Asked for a clothes iron and received one with ironing board within minutes. The noise of dragging furniture from adjacent rooms was somewhat annoying and would have been unbearable to me during busy periods, I'm sure.
The lift terminated on the 7th floor level (my floor), with a small flight of stairs up to the Restaurant and a further short flight up to the Pool... not suitable for persons with mobility difficulties. However, the panoramic views are stunning.
Parking was a problem and the hotel had no special arrangement for clients with surrounding car parks, that I found disappointing, however, I managed to negotiate a rate of 105 euros for a 14 day stay with the conveniently attached and secure mutuapark. I had noticed and heard prospective guests look for other hotels due to the parking issues, but no doubt they would encounter similar issues along the golden mile, other than a 5 star hotel, maybe?.
Overall, the hotel is ideally located on the sea front within easy access to the town center and and beach front restaurants. It is safe and very, very clean.
I had a very pleasant, peaceful stay and would not hesitate in doing so again.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment on floor 7 for the best views, quick access to the restaurant/pool and minimal l...

Looking back this is now our 4th visit & 3rd visit here over a Christmas period and it never disappoints.
From the friendly welcome and "Nice to see you again" on arrival to help with car parking or whatever you request.
Allocated a full sea view apartment on arrival which was a nice surprise.
Car parking rate used to be by special arrangement with the carpark contained within the same block.
Unfortnunately no formal arrangement exists now however by showing room card we did manage to get the rate of Euro 19.05 per 24hours (expensive!) reduced to Euros 12.00 without difficulty.
So convenient as to park & go out - as is the 24 Hour Opencour Supermarket also in the same block for a shop.

Room Tip: Get a sea view apartment if you can sunrise & sunsets spectacular. Only noise can be early morni...
