The statues in the area were lovely and you can tell that Marbella are proud of them. The only thing for me is that there isn't enough information about each of the sculptures. A small plaque on each would be ideal.

Also being keen on photography I would like to have taken all of there photographs but unfortunately it seems the locals like sitting on them which ruins the picture.

Follow the Avenida and walk just along the beach. You will find some shops, restaurants and the harbor along this avenida. Once you are done walking, sit back and relax and start watching all the people passing by. Note that there are also some restaurants on the beach, make sure to take the stairs to the beach to find them.

Great place to walk through, Dali statues line the centre, good trying to work out what you are looking at! Wander through to walk the Paseo Maritime

.
After walking through the traditionally Spanish Alameda Gardens, this large open piazza just next to the Alameda comes as a culture shock!

But a nice shock.

It is a wide open space with sculptures, benches, neatly trimmed orange trees and, of course, the ubiquitous palms, the latter so far safe from the ravages of the deadly picudo rojo beetle that has been killing some of them off.

A complete contrast to the Alameda with its more enclosed feel, almost like walking through a cage of vegetation.

Because it is so open, the Avenida del Mar can get hot in the summer through the lack of shade; then you should be sitting listening to the tinkle of water in the Alameda.

But when the winter sun is out, there's not a better place to sit in Marbella!

Small pedestrian street that leads from the waterfront to a beautiful park La Alameda.
On both sides of the street are uninteresting modern home, but in the middle of interpretation exhibited in bronze some famous images of Salvador Dali:
Space Elephant (Elefante cosmico), two bronze portrait of Gala (Gala asomada a la ventana y Gala Gradiva),
Sitting Don Quixote (Don Quijote sentado ),
nude woman climbing the stairs (Mujer desnuda subiendo la escalera), Mercury, Perseus holding the head of Medusa the Gorgon.
