“Good hotel, close to Puerto Banus”
Reviewed 28 July 2011

The Rincon Andaluz is a very pleasant hotel, comprising 3-storey accommodation blocks set in attractive surroundings, five minutes from the beach and a twenty-minute walk along the promenade to Puerto Banus. The hotel is situated next to the busy CN340 so I don't recommend the cheaper ('promo') rooms as they are likely to be close to the noisy road and I get the impression these are the rooms that cause the bad reviews. Book a standard or superior room and ask for middle or top floor near the main pool and you should have no problem. These rooms are spacious, clean, come with a nice balcony and on two visits I have not experienced any problems with the air-conditioning.

Food in the buffet-style restaurant is good and there is plenty to choose from. There are some tables on an open-air terrace, which is a great place for breakfast or dinner. The terrace is very popular so be prepared to wait a short while. Hotel staff are, generally, very pleasant and efficient. That said, some of the restaurant staff can get a little stressed when busy. Bar prices are OK for this part of the coast (EUR3.20 for a large beer, EUR7 for a large G&T, EUR18 for a reasonable bottle of wine in the restaurant).

There are two nice swimming pools, both of which can be busy so it's a case of getting up early if you want a sunbed for the day! Evening entertainment can be a bit naff but it does not go on much after 11pm (thankfully!).

Car-hire is recommended if you wish to get out and about and it's cheaper than a round-trip taxi from Malaga Airport. Finding a parking space can be a little testing at times.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay and good value for money.

Room Tip: Don't book the cheaper 'promo' rooms - noisy and you will be disappointed!

Bad location, poor staff, poor security, lots of noise. Ask for room with proper balcony and location at the back of hotel.

Beautiful hotel, choice of 2 swimming pools with a short walk to the hotels own beach. Short taxi ride to the port at about 8-15 euros sepending on time of travel. make sure you do not ask for ground accomodation as the aircon can give you sore throat and with the ground accomaodation you would feel unsafe leaving door open all night. The breakfast had lots of choice however didnt really vary everyday.

Having had an excellent week touring Andalucia and the Algarve during which we were pleased with the quality and value of hotels, we needed somewhere near Malaga airport for our last night. Unfortunately, we stayed at the Rincon Andaluce at 112 euros.

The directions to our room were wrong and we walked around the perimeter for some time. Then the air conditioner didn't work despite several claims by reception that it was being repaired as we spoke. Eventually, we were told that a part was needed and it would be fixed the next day - not much use when we were leaving.

The restaurant times in the information sheet were just plain wrong, which nearly lead to us missing dinner.

The map we were given showed the beach at the boundary of the resort just near our room but, in fact, there were two resorts and a road between the two.

Finally, there was a blood stain on one of the sheets.

Room Tip: Book somewhere else

We travelled to Marbella during april 2010, the temperatures were 20+ almost every day, and we loved it! From snow and rain to summer!

We stayed at the Rincon Andaluz, located nearby Puerto Banus, a jetset- area nearby Marbella.

The hotel was great for us during our easter- holiday!

Positive:
Good location, though we had to take a taxi to get to Marbella, we spend most of our time in Puerto Banus. Beautiful hotel with flowers and palmtrees, and e good pool. Too cold to use the pool in april, but it was great. Nice and helpful staff. Great location for walks.

Negative:
The room was quite shabby, dirty and cold. Looked as if no one had bothered fixing leaks and such. Bad smell in our room. Breakfast- buffet was crazy, people everywhere and it looked messy!

This isnt a bad hotel but with so much competition around its not one that I'll be returning to. The location is good in that its really near Puerto Banus but its right on the main road so not very picturesque!

Rooms are clean and basic and the pool area is very nice! Brilliant for a budget holiday though I must say!
