We stayed last weekend in October 2011 and were not disappointed. The rooms were comfortable and had many luxurious touches, the bathroom ans shower was lovely. The rooms had double sinks very handy. Contrary to other reviews the reception staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel closes for the winter so this was their last weekend prior to closing so was a bit quiet but it did not stop our enjoyment. It is ideally located between Marbella and Puerto Banus and a short walk from the beach. I would recomend this hotel, the breakfast has a wide variety of foods and drink, granted some of the hot food was only warm but there was a microwave to give it a quick burst if you wanted. It is situated next to a Mosque but the call to prayers did not disturb us at all.

Stayed here for 5 nights at end of October - place seemed to be on the wind down. we had
two rooms as requested. Ours had a mammoth double bed and double sinks, with nice toiletries also. The mini bar was a rip off. The room had a view to the nearby mosque from a relaxing balcony. Walls were a bit thin but rooms were still 4 star.
The breakfast was adequate, hot food left a bit to be desired but continental was good.
There was no atmosphere in the Bar and very few patrons so difficult to say what it would be like in a busy season. The three blocks are well located for the outdoor swimming pool where we spent a few lazy hours.
The Hotel is well located about 2 miles from Marbella and similar distance to Puerto Banus.
I would return again, with such a good deal available on travelrepublic.
The walk to the beach is just a few minutes and taxis and buses to the resorts are frequent if you don't like walking.
Staff didnt really endear themselves to you but they were ok.

I stayed here as part of a group and we spent most of our time out of the hotel except for the first day of the weekend. When we arrived we realised it was about a 45 min trip from the airport, worth keeping a bottle of water handy! The hotel is modern and has plenty of facilities but it's layout is a bit confusing. Sometimes the outside bar appeared closed because the staff were waiting inside for guests to come through, the pool bar was nice if functional.

I only ate at the hotel for breakfast and the food was very nice although the restaurant was very busy. The staff were all very helpful and didnt stick to the "rules" too closely but were more interested in being friendly and helpful. The rooms we had were good although they had a view of the road but that didnt matter to us. You shouldnt miss out on the lovely beach which is directly over the road and straight down through the apartments opposite, there were some very chilled bars down there and we wish we had found it sooner. Definitely worth visiting if you dont want to spend all your time in the hotel, would go back again and may do so next year.

Had an amazing holiday here with my fiánce last month, it was absolutely amazing if you are looking for quite and relaxed but it is a bit out of town if night life is what you are after. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and the beach is just a short walk. Will definitely be back x

Visited Marbella for the first time 17th sept- 23rd sept. We got to the hotel 23.30 (we had a ryan air flight, therefore had to get a bus (4.60 euros-taxi costs 80 euros) from airport to marbella bus station then a taxi to the hotel which cost 12 euros). Checking in was straight forward, was given details about the room, breakfast and where the swimming pool was etc. We were re-assured at this point that we had the room which we requested (double bed, highest possible floor-no smoking).

The room:

When we got to the room (which was on the top floor) we instantly discovered it was a smoking room (but didn't really mind becuse you couldn't smell any previous residue smoking). Then we checked the beds-they we're twin beds! Rang reception and they told us they were fully booked-if we wanted another room we had to ring first thing the next day. (we checked for two mornings @ 8 am and were given a sarcastic remark by Antonio at reception - which was ''you weren't early enough-there are no rooms available''). So we gave up and accepted we had to have twin beds-also we didn't want to spoil our holiday!

Went to have a shower-the shower was a little difficult to get the hang of but wasn't too bad once you got used to it (husband got the hang of it towards the end of our stay :) ) The room itself had a safe, minibar and balcony, with a beautiful view of the golden mile (could see a bit of the ocean too). It also had a neat 'dressing area' which consisted of two basins (which is handy when your in a hurry in the morning!), hair dryer and the shower/bath combo and toilet is in a seperate area. However the 'robes' that they say they provide-were invisible.

Cleansiness; House keeping were fab. Room was very clean.

Breakfast: Plentiful buffet style breakfast, consisting of full English Breakfast, (Eggs were always cold) pastries,(tasted as though they had been there a little while though) juice, fruit and yogurt. Breakfast was served until 11 am and not a single second longer!

Taxis: Some advice, don't get the hotel to book your taxi because they get commision on it, when we booked a taxi to Puerto Banus on the first night - it cost us 12 euros. When we walked across the road from NH alanda the next night to Hotel Puente Romana - the taxi into Puerto Banus cost 9.5 Euros.

Beach: 5 min walk - cross the road infront of the hotel-walk through Hotel Puente Romana. NH Alanda have their own beach club, 10 Euros PP includes sun bed, sun towel and a bottle of cold water. Or alternatively there's sun beds for 6 Euros just a little further away from the hotels beach club. (But you don't get the frills-just the sun bed).

Me and my husband enjoy walking so on our first day in Marbella we walked along the promenade to Puerto Banus (took us 50 mins on a v hot day!) The next day we walked to old town, took us exactly the same amount of time. However that evening, walking back from old town, it was cool-got to the hotel in 35 mins.

Puerto Banus: Pricey, be prepared to spend alot of money-Average meal 60-80 Euros. Average drink, about 8 Euros. (Bumped into Trevor Francis) it's true, you will never leave Puerto Banus w/o spotting a celebrity. There's plenty of gorgeous yachts, cars and designer shops too.

If it's a budget holiday that your after stick to Old Town - they have lots of happy hours. However theres alot of riff raff there watch out. Old towns orange tree square is beautiful-plenty of boutique shops and cafes. Theres also a tourist information office in old town which was really helpful since the hotel staff weren't really helpful!

Bus-bus stop right outside the hotel and very cheap 1.5 Euros one way to puerto banus or old town.

Hotel customer service- VERY SARCASTIC. On the second day we asked Antonio where a restaurant called 'Sukothai' was, his answer ''i don't know'' then we asked ''can you atleast help us find it?'' Antonios answer ''It's probably past Old Town somewhere''. So we asked whether he knew how much it would cost roughly in taxi, Antonios answer ''Do I look like a taxi man?'' So we gave up on asking him anything. The next day, helpful chap @ reception 'Paco' rang the restaurant and made a booking for us-he was also unsure about the whereabouts. So we booked a cab and the cabbie said he knew where it was. Sukhothai was two mins in car away from the hotel on the mile!

We've had better customer service at 3 star hotels. Nobody wanted to help and even giving a map was a chore for them. Which is a shame really, that's the only thing that has put us off from coming back here.

But all in all loved marbella - will be back!

Room Tip: On a Saturday night you will definately hear some noise from the little restaurant infront of the ho...

I was very impressed with this hotel.
Big, bright spacious rooms, with two sinks, very useful as we were 3 girls sharing a room.
Nice pool, plenty of sun beds, good snack bar.
Good buffet breakfast included in the room price and we had a free late check out until 5pm.
Free parking.
My only negative was the reception staff, so moody and not very helpful.
Apart from that, excellent value hotel, would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for four nights during the last week of August. We picked this hotel because it was much cheaper than the other hotels in the area. There appeared to be three blocks to the hotel, all within the complex and within short walk of each other.
Rooms were good size with balcony. The shower and toilet are separate to the double sinks mirror and hair dryer area. The room had air-conditioning, safety deposit box and lots of storage.
The pool is lovely. Lots of sun loungers and a bar / restaurant. The beech is about 5 or 7 min walk straight opposite the hotel across a busy main road. We spent most of our time here. NH Alanda have a bar / restaurant and sun loungers here too. Once you come down the steps / ramp to the beech turn left. It's the second bar on the beech and has a blue NH Alanda flag on the roof. Beds were 10 euro each for the day and you get free bottled water too.Beech shower and toilet available. The staff here are the same staff that serve breakfast in the hotel and they are very friendly.
Breakfast was really very good. You should aim to be down before 10am during busy season. The room is small but the outdoor area was in use also. It looks a bit chaotic but its organised chaos. Cereal, fruit, pastries, juice, breads, toast, sliced meats, cheeses, yoghurts and the usual English fry all available. Previous posters mentioned the queue for the coffee machines - there are three in the room and at most two people ahead of you, not a big problem.
You can walk into Marbella in the evenings along by the beech but it will take 30 or 40 minutes. Taxis either into Marbella or Porto Banus are 10 euro. Try the Old Town in Marbella for an evening stroll or meal in one of the many restaurants around the orange square.
There were a few annoying things over the few days:-The staff on the main desk were not the friendliest. There is no iron in the rooms and when we asked for one to be sent up we were informed of the ironing service available in the hotel. This didn't suit us as all our clothes needed a run of an iron and it would have cost a fortune (6.50 for a top) and a further fee if we wanted it done that evening. We ended up hanging clothes near the shower steam and using the hair dryer to de-crease the clothes.
Also we needed a scissors to cut a sharp tag off a pair of shorts and reception said they didn't have any. Found this hard to believe. Just little things but when you are bringing carry on luggage only, you cant afford room for an iron, and obviously can't carry a scissors.
Don't let that put you off though. It's a great hotel.
