“A good experience overall”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

We stayed here for 6 nights in late July 2012. We spoke to the staff in Spanish and found them to be helpful. Many of the employees were happy to speak English too.

We requested a superior room with a pool view, which was excellent and clean, with a nice terrace. We overlooked the pool, which I would recommend as other rooms overlook a main road.

It was very quiet for 5 nights of the 6. Although, like most modern hotels, the walls are quite thin and the guests above were clearly audible late one night.

The pool area is pleasant, with a nice family atmosphere and sunbeds available every day that we were there. However, I would suggest turning up at around 9.30am to guarantee a good spot.

The nearby beach is also good, although we were slightly disappointed to pay ten euros for a sunbed and towel. In fairness, this is stated on the website and appears common along the 'golden mile'. The beach is just a short walk from the hotel, past the Puente Romano over the road. The NH bar, restaurant and toilet are all available for guests. The presence of illegal vendors and massage ladies is mildly irritating, but it's still a relaxing experience overall.

Contrary to other reviews, we really enjoyed the breakfast. A good selection of fresh fruit, cereals and breads was available, along with hot food options.

The hotel is located about 3 km from both Marbella town centre and Puerto Banus. You can walk along the beach in both directions or get the number 1 bus. Taxis are also reasonable if you get tired of waiting for a bus!!

Room Tip: Book a room with a view of the pool

Having read previous reviews we were not expecting too much but went with an open mind. We wanted a hotel close to where our friends were staying and this was the closest and most cost effective
We arrived late after a 12 hour delay and the receptionists were very helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious and bathrooms a good size. We had 2 rooms with one in each block but they were very helpful in putting both rooms in the main hotel.
The pool area is great with a lovely pool although they don't like too much diving and there was 12 of us.
The majority of staff were helpful and whilst some didn't speak English they would find one who did.
The breakfast was a good selection of food however if you went after 10 it was very busy but there was something for everyone.
Overall our experience was great and we had no complaints and for what we paid very good value for money - for those who complain about staff not being able to speak Spanish..... You are in Spain and should try to make an effort.
We would definitely go back there

Room Tip: The hotel is in 2 sections - the main hotel rooms which look towards Peurta Banus are a good option...

So ordinary it barely rates a review. Instantly forgettable apart from the breakfast which was vile. Rooms so,so. Service so,so. Bathroom ok. Won't be back. In a week won't remember having been.

Wifi about 9 euros for twenty four hours. One code per device.

All in all the hotel looks pleasant and the building where we stayed was fairly new and modern, very spacious and clean. The pool area was also nice as not too busy and enough sunbeds available.

However the staff were terrible, smiley at times, but extremely unhelpful and rude! And very bad English, which is appalling when majority of guests are British, lol. And the food is atrocious. Breakfast was included in our stay and was very minimal and although available till 11am, the staff would start clearing everything away 15 mins in advance. And again very rude when you would ask for milk or knife and fork! Food at the poolside was also terrible.

It was also inconvenient for us when the lift broke down due to the ceiling falling on a guest! And then left with no warning signs or anything!

No local amenities available, everything is a bus ride/cab ride away. Beach is within walking distance which is the only upside. Overall, bad staff attitude and would not stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in July.
The hotel is located on Marbella's golden mile. The location is great as it is roughly equal distance from Marbella town and Puerto Banus and a taxi will cost you approximately 10 euros to go to either. There is a taxi rank in the 5 start hotel over the road which is handy. Other wise there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with frequent buses that will cost you a couple of euros. The location between the two was the main reason we chose this hotel.
A negative about the location is that there is no local shop/supermarket. The nearest one is a 20 minute walk away although you can use the bus to get to it. It is a short walk to the beach and the hotel has a beach club once you get down there but we did not use this facility.
The hotel itself is made up of three buildings. The main one (building one) is where we stayed and is where the food hall is for breakfast. The pool is situated between the other two buildings.
The hotel itself was very nice, our room was well decorated and very clean. There was also a mini bar which you can use for your own drinks. As the hotel is situated on a main road it is quite noisy but the rooms have double glazing so you can't hear a thing when the blacony door is closed. The beds were so comfortable and there was air conditioning. The pool area was very clean and the pool side bar serves some reasonably priced snacks. There was hardly any reserving of sunbeds either which always annoys me.
We stayed bed and breakfast so cannot comment on other meals. Breakfast was very nice with both hot and cold buffets. The only down side to breakfast was most people leave it till the last minute to go to breakfast so the dining hall can get fairly busy.
At the hotel was a good mix of couples, groups of friends and families. The hotel staff were always pleasent although their English was not always the best.
All in all a nice hotel with nice rooms and a good pool. The best part of the hotel was the location between Marbella and Puerto Banus allowing you to visit both places with ease. Nothing really negative to say about it apart from breakfast time being slightly busy. Would definately go again.

Room Tip: Building one is where the dining room is. The pool is between buildings two and three.

This is the worst 4* hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were clean and nice and so was the pool but the quality of the service was terrible.
We arrived at the hotel and the taxi that picked us up from the airport quoted once 65 euros price and then tried to charge us 80 euros. The hotel did not support us at all and told us to pay it otherwise they would call the police! We were a group of 8 girls and we were just shocked. The staff at reception were extremely rude and unpleasant.

Then on the second day the lift ceiling fell on my friends head. She was provided with no support or help. When we requested the health safety documents from the hotel and its accident log book they said they didnt know one. When i said i wish to see these documents they said fine we will get our paper work out and then take your friend to hospital. My friend was not taken to hospital and was left sitting in the lobby shaking for over 1 hour! A mental roof falling on your head can have serious consequences but the manager said dont worry the roof only weighed 1kg you will be fine! The receptionist also didn’t understand us very well and we asked to speak to some with better english. He then said it’s not my fault you don’t speak Spanish!!! That was very rude.

THE WORST PART- is when i left Spain the hotel charged me the next day 500 euros on my card! I had already checked out and cleared by bill and was in the UK. They had taken money out my card for the trip few weeks prior. This was an illegal transaction which I am shocked by. I did not provide them with my details and wasn’t even in the country.
The food and breakfast was also terrible and tasteless.
MY ADVICE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL THE STAFF ARE RUDE, UNHELPFUL AND ARROGANT.
