If you want to escape from the typical tourist traps this is the place, great atmosphere, super-friendly staff and authentic local Spanish cuisine that's not over priced.
sit in the courtyard and enjoy the surroundings then finish off your meal with a drink round the bar.

if there's better in Marbella I would love to see it but certainly won't be looking to far from Mariscal

Enjoyed lamb and pork tenderloin and shared a dessert of chocolate fondant with melting middle which didn't seem to be on menu but folk next to us had it and liked it. So did we! Complimentary liqueurs were welcome! Not too expensive but not too exceptional either. Courtyard setting is delightful! Pleasant staff.

I was lured to this restaurant by the reviews posted in Trip Advisor. The setting is nice and the staff friendly, but the food is lacking in authenticity. The soups had a good flavor, but were lacking the qualities of a true gazpacho. Ingredients that should have been cooked with the soup were brought out as sides for the customer to put in the soup. Two people ordered the lobster paella which had a nice flavor, but it was not a true paella. It was very moist, difficult to eat and more like a gumbo. Other members of the party ordered salt encrusted sea bass. Normally fish like this is "decrusted" and filleted at the table - which was not done. The flavor of the fish was good, but the dish was not as advertised.
Desserts were disappointing too. All were pre-made, frozen and not as advertised. The emphasis here is to serve lots of people quickly. More attention should be paid to offering authentic dishes properly prepared.
The owner introduced himself and assisted with our order. He mentioned Trip Advisor to us several times. Although he was very friendly and tried to be helpful, he seemed to be preoccupied with his rating. I have never experienced a restaurant owner bringing up the subject of Trip Advisor ratings to his customers.

We always walk past the squares in cities when we want to eat, we passed this little gem just away from the square in old town, to look at it wasn't amazing, we trusted the waiter and boy we weren't disappointed. Lovely, friendly atmosphere, great with my children (the only ones in there). Everything was delicious salad (which I can never re-create at home) paella and chocolate deserts. I would highly recommend this as a lovely, authentic night in Marbella.
