Owner description: International tennis club Royal Tennis Club Marbella" was founded 40 years ago by a group of tennis professionals with wide experience in tennis organisation and management. The tennis club is located in Marbella town, in a beautiful, coastal area of El Rosario. Ideal climate conditions allow you to practise tennis and padel sports all year round surrounded by unique nature, tranquility and fresh air. For over 40 years, the club is renowned for its clay tennis courts made of tightly packed earh, which are considered to be the best in the entire Costa del Sol. We had a pleasure to welcome in our tennis club internationally known tennis players such as J.C. Ferrero, D. Ferrer, A. Kuznetsov, J. Acasuso, Emilio Álvarez and others. Many international tournaments including DuelodeLegiones´08 Spain against Argentina took place in our tennis club. We offer 8 clay tennis courts and 1 hard court. Professional night lighting allows you to enjoy playing tennis or paddel at any time!

The facilities there are excellent , we booked both Padel and Tennis (group of four). Tatiana the receptionist is a class act she corresponded with me well in advance and was very accommodating in organising both Tennis and Padel. Apres tennis we went to the bar and had both food and drinks. The young man that served us was a lovely guy and so too was the young lady that worked behind the bar (sorry guys don't have your names) but I would like to publicly thank both of them. The only downside , (and this is why my review is "very good" and not "excellent" ), they have a very surly young male receptionist (sits next to Tatiana) who has a serious attitude problem. We booked Padel (our second visit) and arrived 2 hrs early , only to be told initially all courts booked (without even checking), we did eventually get a court for one of the two hours we booked, and decided to wait for our allotted time for the second hour. The court he told us was unavailable was free all afternoon. I did take the trouble to ask one of the staff who he was (thought he was the owners son) it seems he was the receptionist. That said don't let my negativity influence your visit as the whole place is well run with lovely staff. Talk to Tatiana and you will be well looked after.

We went to play tennis and had a fantastic time with Joaquin who was both encouraging and knowledgeable. They were very welcoming, fitted us in and happy to accommodate three of us. We shared a lesson for €50 including rackets and thought this was a fantastic deal. They have a nice bar so the non-tennis players could sip a glass of wine while waiting for us. If you need any kit they also have a good range in the shop.

although the facilities are good the service is poor as we booked for a fun game on holiday and they failed to mention that the courts are half price at non peak times which would have suited us. you had to pay to hire rackets - no issue there but you also had to buy balls - really? cost for a fun game was almost €40, compared with similar experience / club in majorca in may for €12. no one mentioned about having to rake the full court which caused us embarrassment with unfriendly members at the end. not a great morning out!!!

Set back from the main road this tennis club attracts the best of the tennis buffs. Nice place to meet around the pool for a beer or food.
