“Fantasic Stay at La Villa Marbella”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2008

We stayed at this property for 3 nights and loved it from start to finish. The location is excellent in terms of getting to all the major sights in the old town and surrounding area. Everything is within walking distance - beach, shopping and restaurants.

The room we stayed in was the Shanghai room and it was great. Well decorated in an asian theme and very comfortable. All the little details in the room made it very special - art work, linens, canopy bed, light fixtures, etc......

We also had a private terrace for sunbathing during the day - overall great room for those who want all the luxuries.

The team at La Villa Marbella were fantasic - ask them anything and they will go the extra mile to help you out. We had asked them for suggestions of where to eat and they gave us 3. We went to all 3 restaurants and were not dissapointed. These guys know how to really treat their guests.

The property also comes with breakfast which was also good - they provide you with an extensive list of breakfast options to choose from - so there is something for everyone.

The property also had a sun lounging area and pool for everyone else to use - this is great if you didnt have a room with a private terrace like we did - but i would recommend getting the room with it.

Overall we had a great time at this property and would defintely recommend this to anyone. That is why this property is #1 on trip advisor in Marbella. You can't go wrong with this choice.

That is why we also booked 4 nights at Marbella Heights - please see my review for this property - this sister property is another great choice in Marbella.

Thanks to the team at both properties - you truly made our stay in Marbella Spain memorable.

Our stay at the LVM Hotel was absolutley fantastic. Everything from our room to the location of the hotel was just perfect! Marcos and the staff there were so helpful and honestly could not have done anymore to make our stay so enjoyable. The breakfast on the sun terrace was a great way to start the day. We fully intend returning in September!

We had a wonderful stay in La villa Marbella. It ticked all the boxes for the following reasons

Lovely stylish rooms and bathroom with attention to all the details

Characteristic touches, such as a courtyard swimming pool, quaint rooftop bar - situated in charming street full of little white houses

Good location - a few minutes walk to the centre of the old town and short walking distance from the beach

Unbelievable staff - the most friendly helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. You can relax in the knowledge whatever you need will be taken care of by efficient capable people. Our compliments and thanks to Marcos and the team. We certainly had a trip to remember.

Makes a change to get service from people who really enjoy what they are doing. Nothing was too much of a problem and where the Hotel was situated was perfect for the old part of Marbella.
Definately worth a visit.
Thanks Marcos and the team.

  • Liked — You were made to feel at home
  • Disliked — Rooms a little on the small size. But that's Old Town marbella. Better than the sea front.

My husband and I stayed at LVM this past week and the hotel was absolutely perfect!!! It is everything all the other posts describe but even better in person. Marcus and his staff do everything to make your trip perfect, as you are treated like royalty during your entire stay. As my husband stated during our trip, Marcus must have the most rigerous interviewing for his staff as everyone from the maid to the managers are extremely friendly and personable. They think of everything you may need during your trip - including body puffs for the body and towels for the beach. Breakfast is huge and really has anything you can think of. I highly recommend the yogurt - it is better than any you will ever have in the states!!

The hotel itself is located in the old town which is about a 5-10 min walk to the beach (the walk is beautiful through the old Spanish houses). The town has a lot of character and seems so much nicer than the resorts along the beach. There was free parking nearby and Marcus made great maps which made everything easy to find. We stayed in the Ankor and Lankawi rooms during our week there and both were wonderful. Lankawi is a tad bit larger and has a balcony with amazing views.

Although we thought this would be our only trip to Spain for a long time, we are already trying to plan our trip back next year. We would never think about returning without staying at LVM again!!

Thank you so much Marcus and staff for an amazing week!! No hotel will ever compare with LVM, we have been spoiled for life.

We have just returned from a short break at this lovely little hotel / luxury B&B and what more can we say? We agree with the other recent reviews and we certainly did not want to come home. Marcos and his team ensured that our long weekend away to celebrate our anniversary was very special.
As we didn't have a car, we booked an airport transfer through the hotel which was a real treat and very professional.
The setting of La Villa Marbella in the old town with the mountains as a backdrop is beautiful. We were enchanted by the pretty lanes and old buildings. It certainly opened our eyes to the real Costa del Sol - 'Brits Abroad' this is not!
Our room was on the ground floor, but despite initial concerns about noise or privacy this was not an issue. We slept better than we have done for months. As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are on the small side, but this is an old house with so much character - just don't bring large suitcases. The contemporary Asian style decor is spot on, the bathroom is a good size and of high spec.
We also loved the rooftop terrace for delicious breakfasts and evening drinks, and enjoyed exchanging travel tips with other like minded guests - the range of guests gives this place a great international feel.
We found Marbella itself to be very friendly and laid back. Thanks to Marcos' recommendation we spent a fantastic evening at a simple local seafood restaurant. We were the only tourists there, but made to feel very welcome. And the seafood was the best we've had anywhere in the world, including Thailand!
Marcos' other tips included a fun tapas place and the regular catamaran ferry to Puerto Banus marina to ogle the gin palaces. All of these were experiences we would otherwise have missed out on.
So overall, a big thank you to the whole La Villa Marbella team for wonderful personal service - we are already planning our return trip!

My partner and I have just returned from a 4-night stay at La Villa Marbella. Being slight hotel snobs we are usually a little disappointed with the hotels we have visited, be it standardised décor, a lack of personal touches, or a level of service that fails to meet expectations. However, we can honestly say that we were truly delighted with our stay at La Villa Marbella.

The rooms may be slightly on the small size (and having made our booking late, I believe that we were in the smallest), however they are more than adequate for a short visit, and what the hotel lacks in size it more than makes up for in character, charm and warmth.

The décor is simply lovely, with an oriental theme throughout; it felt as if we were welcomed guests in someone’s home rather than in a hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the beds extremely comfortable, and the little personal touches made it a pleasure to return to after a long day in the beautiful old town.

What sets La Villa Marbella above the vast majority of hotels is, without a doubt, the level of service. Nothing is too much trouble for Marcos and his team. If you do have any complaints (which we didn’t) I am sure that one word to Marcos and he would do everything he could to remedy them.

On our first night we had plans to meet family in a restaurant a short walk from the hotel. As the old town is a maze of alleyways, Marcos walked us there personally to ensure we did not get lost. I have yet to stay in a 5 star, or any other hotel that would offer such personal service.

Breakfast is lovely, and it was a delight to sit on the beautiful terrace in the morning with the stunning view of the mountains over the rooftops.

On our last day Marco’s took us to visit his new Courtyard building, which was, if possible, even more charming, and we can’t wait to return!
