“Old Town Charm”
Reviewed 2 August 2009

Based on Trip Advisor reviews my wife and I booked three nights at this charming hotel in May 2009. We were not disappointed, and in fact in was a wonderful stay. Marcos and his staff are outstanding and every request receives prompt attention. The old town location is a short taxi ride from the bus station and also enables the guests to walk to all the many restaurants and local attractions.

Stuart & Jacqui (Newquay, Cornwall)
Having never been to Marbella before we wanted to make sure we were not disappointed, and I can assure you we were not! La Villa Marbella offered us an insight to how Spain was many years in the past and we thoroughly enyoyed ourselves. We stayed in Halong room in the Courtyard, beautiful decor and ambience throughout.

We found the holiday very relaxing and would definitely return.

Marcos and his team are like a breath of fresh air with regarding customer service, their passion for the hospitality trade showed in abundance.
We would recommend Casani's bistro for beautiful food and atmostphere but would advise booking, especially at the weekend.

So many thanks to Marcos for making our first trip to Marbella a truely memorable time.

We have stayed at Angkor room which is placed at the Cottage building from the 20th-30th Of July 2009. The room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom, large double bed, airconditioning and all the amenities that make you feel comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely perfect and you have the opportunity to change it every day!! Marcos(the owner) and Bolivar were very hospitable and they help you in everything you need. They gave us excellent recomendations in places we have to visit and restaurants that you can enjoy delicious food and drinks!! The rest of the team that works at La Villa Marbella is fantastic and they make you feel like you are home!!! You must visit Gibraltar it worths the visit and is not far away from Marbella it worths the trip!!! Not much to add with all the glowing reviews already, so I'll keep this short.

The good: Ever friendly Marcos and staff; location; themed room.

The not-so-good: you might get the impression from all the reviews that this is a 5 star hotel, it's not. Its best described as a boutique hotel with excellent staff. Don't know where people were getting these cooked breakfasts, ours was full of carbs. Also, pool was not particularly inviting.

Must-do: you must eat in this small hotel very nearby 'El Gallo.' Basic decor but fantastic food, full of locals and serving the best garlic prawns in Marbella.

This is a fabulous little hotel in a lovely setting in the old town of Marbella. We stayed in 'Goa' in the courtyard which has a lovely little pool (great for a chillout before you get ready for the evening) a lovely, well renovated Spanish town house decorated in Indonesian/Asian style - rooms have everything you need including fridge, microwave, iron, hairdryer etc - even a 2 ring electric hob in ours which i guess is the same in all of them (not that we used it)
The owner Marcos and his staff could not be more helpful and are so friendly and eager to please - nice bonus especially if you have not been to Marbella before as they are quick to recommend restaurants, places to visit etc.
We certainly had some lovely meals while we were there and i would especially recommend Naga in Puerto Banus for Thai and a lovely little restaurant near the hotel called, i think, il Cantuccio (though i wouldn't recommend this one at the weekend as it can be busy and they have a small kitchen so you can be in for a long wait) the food, however, is wonderful and beautifully presented - ask Marcos about these
A little pricey but that goes for all of Marbella so don't go if you want a cheap break:)
All in all a wonderful holiday and i hope to go back soon.

My wife and I spent one night at La Villa Marbella last Saturday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was excited to find out if this property deserved all the hype that's been having lately around here.

This is a great place to stay, wonderfully managed. Location is excellent, rooms have a delightful decoration (we stayed at a brand new apartament named Lhasa which featured a great terrace with jacuzzi)...

As others have pointed out, the management is truly excellent. The property owner, Marcos, is a skilled travel industry professional who knows his business quite well. He or his team are really nice and helpful people.

We were invited to a bottle of champagne to enhance our celebration. What else can be said?

Be aware that this is a small boutique hotel. We love these concepts, but there are people who simply prefer the big resort type of hotel. If this is your case, La Villa is not your place.

Highly recommended.

My wife and I recently spent 3 wonderful days in Marbella at the La Villa Marbella. The location was perfect, in old town Marbella, the hotel was more than charming and was decorated in an understated but elegent fashion. The rooms were large and comfortable. The real highlight was the ability of the owner Marcos and one of his assistants Ben to make sure we found the type of entertainment, sightseeing, and food we were looking for. Marbella is a special place for my wife and myself and though we have not been visited in a long time, the expereince was better than we anticipated. Thanks to the La Villa Marbella. We look forward to our next visit.
