“Simple the best service I have ever had”
Reviewed 4 October 2010

We visited La Villa Marbella for a long weekend. We had a room called Shanghai, which was a bit querky with a 4-poster bed, private terrace and best of all its own private hot tub. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was delightful. We sat by the swimming pool and enjoyed our breakfast at a time which entirely suited us. What marked out this hotel is the absolutely terrific service at this hotel. I have never encountered such wonderful staff, from Bolivar who greeted us when we arrived, to the truly wonderful Marcus, who gave us helpful ideas about where to go and where to eat. He arranged tickets for us and checked on bus times. Marcus exemplified the staff - helpful, always pleasant and very warm. Even the taxi driver they organised for us was marvellous. I cannot recommend this too highly. The staff made this a really marvellous and relaxing time. Simply a great hotel and well worth a visit.

I chose this hotel due to the spotless list of recommendations from tripadvisor. I agree that the service from the staff during the day, is equal to what you get at a very good 5star hotel. From 10 pm untill 8 in the morning you need to speak spanish, if something comes up. For me as an english, german, danish speaker there is not much, I can do. As the attention from every other staff was very good, I give maximum points for the service.

As for the location. Around marbella there are 3 different places, that deserves 5 stars: puerto banus, the golden mile and central marbella old town. Its a matter of personal taste. This hotel is located in a charming, narrow residential street. 1 point off due to challenging accessability. Please note, that you will have to accept the at times very loud local "touch", if you choose a room facing the street.

My room (angkor) was facing a neat little courtyard. It is a VERY small room and I wont recommend it for more than one person. Bed is average and tall enough to stow your luggage underneath it, which is neccessary as there is only a small wardrobe. They only give you clean sheets every 3rd day, so make sure you don´t put something in the bed, you wont like to be there the next 1-2 days. Only the hotel manager decides, if you can have your sheets changed or not. As for me being ill, this was not so nice. Bathroom is OK.

The hotel is spread over severel buildings. My room was in "the courtyard". This building has free, very slow, internet (wifi). This works in the sittingroom and in the courtyard. Once in the room with the door closed, the signal is gone. A faster connection is offered at the roof top terrace in the main building. Sat TV did not work during the weekend either and could not be fixed untill monday.

In one sentence: The hotel is a fully normal, slightly overpriced boutique hotel serving an average breakfast.

If you don´t kinow La Villa Marbella - it´s a fantastic "boutique" hotel that delights the traveller who wants class and style and not to "follow the sheep"

My wife and I have stayed at La Villa Marbella before ( three times earlier this year) - it is just top class, that we decided to return and stay again. Marcos and his staff (Bollie, Ben, Isobel (to name but a few) show the most amazing professional attitude towards guests - making your stay the absolute best! Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile.
We stayed in one of their very new rooms (building opposite reception) - so new, we were the first to try it out! WOW!!!! The room is named Bangkok and it is just fantastic - beautifully decorated - super large 4-poster bed, air-con, mini-bar, CD/DVD/RADIO/TV/SAT. Large En-suite with big walk in shower, WC and basin.

The room is very large with twin Spainsh balconies - but the most amazing part about the room is the huge wooden beamed and slatted vaulted ceiling.

Located just 90 seconds walk from the famous streets of Orange Square (Plaza Naranja) - you could not be better positioned to experience all the delights of Old Marbella Town.

If you are going to stay in Marbella - check out La Villa Marbella....you won´t be disappointed!

La Villa Marbella is as noted in all the other reviews an amazing, charming, quaint hotel with loads of character in the lovely Old Town of Marbella. I stayed in the Sarawak Apartment and it was above and beyond my expectations. Beautifully designed and decorated, very neat and tidy, fabulous kitchen etc..I didn't want to leave! Marcos, Ben, Tom, etc., were wonderfully accommodating and very helpful with restaurant, shopping, and sightseeing recommendations. The hotel breakfast was fantastic. I'll be back and couldn't recommend this hotel any higher. Thank you LVM!!!

I have never written a review before but felt I had to after our second visit here last week.
This is a truly special place where NOTHING is too much trouble for the staff and every recommendation, be it a place to visit, or fabulous restaurant, is absolutely spot on.
Marcos, the owner, is a very special person who you have to meet, as well as the rest of his team.
A beautiful hotel in fabulous surroundings which I cannot recommend enough.
All these reviews are not exaggerated - it really is as brilliant as they say. Don't miss out - book it up and enjoy.
We will be back....

What an amazing little hotel! Set in the charming narrow streets of Marbella Old Town, with its bougainvillea flowers cascading down, we stayed in The Courtyard in the Saigon room. A marvellous welcome from Marcos and his team, they couldn't have been more helpful. The room was delightful, comfy bed and a lovely little balcony overlooking the courtyard itself and the little pool. Gorgeous bathroom. Continental breakfast taken by the pool (which was cool and refreshing!). On the rooftop great sunbeds. This little gem deserves its position as the best hotel in Marbella - try it!
