Stayed for 5 nights sept 2nd-7th 2013 starting with good bit was the room, stayed with my daughterand 13 month old grand daughter on 6th floor the room was very spacious and balcony very safe and clean. No other god bits the food was mediocre no taste and def not 4* food. I have stayed all over the costas in spain always in 4* hotels but never had food this bad, maybethe food is more like 3* . Lifts are a joke, best to use the service lift its much quicker. The restaurant is quite big situated on the -1 floor but there is only 1 toilet cubicle in ladies (unheard of!) this area is big with outdated furniture, what a waste of space. Hotel not at all pushchair/wheelchair friendly when moving about on outside area of hotel . Recomend the best pool to use is at Don Marco, no gritty underfoot feeling as you walk barefooted from pool to sun lounger. This hotel is very close to the beach, but the beach is gritty, give me Costa Blanca anyday, no bars to walk to & from just same old shops & eating places. Reception area no aircon, or it wasn't working, and very outdated, also is the boring "dark" uninviting bar. Entertainment was okish, entertainment staff were very nice n friendly.

Just back from Torremolinos where we had an enjoyable week's holiday with friends. On the positive side this hotel is situated in a very central location and the grounds are well maintained. The quality of the food was very good and the choice was more than adequate. Our package included a return private pick up from the airport which worked well. The free half bottle of wine per table, included with dinner which was also part of the deal was so bad that we decided to purchase our own for the remainder of the holiday. At meal times there are insufficient lifts to cater for guests which can be a problem for people on higher floors or those unable to use the stairs.
There is a dress code advertised for the dining room in the evening which stipulates "no shorts" and this policy is neither enforced or observed. Perhaps it's time to either change the policy or else enforce it for the sake of consistency. Something else that needs addressing is their policy towards admitting people into the dining room. We were three days into our holiday before anyone looked for evidence that we were staying there. Staff were generally friendly and took the guest's word when they gave a room number. Unfortunately for me, one staff member/manager decided to exercise his authority and insisted that I show my card one evening which would
have been fine if, yet again, this policy was being applied consistently. So he held up guests while I searched for the docked in my wallet. This was the only occasion on which I was asked to produce this docket but then it was the only time I encountered this particular gentleman who could do with a crash course in how to treat a paying guest.

Returned home 4th Sept 2013 after a week The hotel needs a complete revamp. The food was poor, very poor. The majority of staff were friendly and helpful however, found hotel reception staff off hand and uncivil. Only one bar open in the evening. Entertainment varied and quite good. Room was dated but very clean. Will not be returning.

Fantastic place with enthusiastic entertainments staff. With 2 young children small pool and correct depth meant they were always safe- also areas away from children in the top deck. We were in 152 above the entertainment area- ideal and noise never really an issue with doors closed- a balcony light would help? Bed and breakfast ideal as out rear entrance and left a quirky tapas bar as first bar- perfect! Beach so close- not sure on wi fi as never really explained but second visit and love it - even my mother who joined us enjoyed every minute- well done. Mr Cutler. chris.cutler@abbeygatecollege.co.uk

Room Tip: 152 great as no big drop and close enough not to have to use lifts!

Dear Chris07041964,
It is great to hear that the Don Pablo suited you so well and that you had a fantastic holiday. Just to clarify the WiFi: We offer free WiFi in the main bar areas of the three hotels which is great just for getting e-mails and so on. If you want a high-speed connection and access all around the hotel including rooms, you can upgrade for an hourly, daily or weekly charge.
I really hope that you come back soon.
Kind regards,

We have stayed in this hotel for I think 4 times now and there is nothing to complain about. It is right on the main beach of Playa Mar, or if you don't want to go in the sea have access to about 5 pools in the hotel complex.
The rooms are clean and typical of the age of hotel, the food this year was better than we have had before - I think the budget must have increased - with plenty of choice for all tastes.
The entertainment team made plenty of effort to involve guests throughout the day and also during the evening entertainment.
If you look past the tag that Torremolinos had from the past you will find a really good quality hotel for all the family.

Room Tip: If you want to watch the evening entertainment from your balcony ask for a room overlooking that are...

Dear desmel1,
Thank you for taking the time to review us after your last visit. I am so glad that you enjoyed the hotel and Torremolinos so much. I am happy to see that the food hit the spot and that you enjoyed the hard-working and ever-smiling entertainment team.
I assume that most readers on this page are already interested in Torremolinos but it is still worth reiterating what you say about the town. Over the years it has changed and grown up a lot. The days of the lager lout are past and it is a very nicely looked-after family resort these days. The old town is great, with good shopping and restaurants, and the 7 kilometre promenade has recently been renovated and is really lovely.
Thanks again for your comments. I hope that we will see you soon.
Kind regards,
Jaime Floyer.

just returned from another 2 week holiday at the don Pablo and am already looking to return next year . the staff on reception maids bar staff and activities team are always pleasant and accommodating. The hotel seems to get better with age Ii have been going there since I was a child and now take my daughter and hopefully in time my granddaughter There is a supermacardo where items are much cheaper than at the adjoining stores to the hotel (ask for directions) my daughter will rather miss a holiday than not go to HER hotel as she calls it. if you want to be near the live music go for even room if you want a quieter room go for odd number either way it all stops at midnight .I think if you find something to complain about at this hotel
you must be hard to please

Room Tip: to watch a show from your balcony ask for floor one or two room between 226 and 236

Dear saturn790,
It is great to hear from regular guests from time-to-time as more often than not it never occurs to them to write their opinions on TA. Of course when I say regulars I don't mean taht there have to be generations of you! Thanks you very much for letting everyone know about your stay.
We looki forward to welcoming you and future generations back soon!
Kind regards,

Stayed here in June with family (2 kids 3 and 1). Food good but did get busy the 2nd week around the pool and restaurants at meal times (stayed mid to end June 2013). Central to everything. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere central to everything and close to the airport.
