Have stayed in this hotel at least 3 times per year for several years, and have always enjoyed ourselves.Rooms are clean and spacious but a bit dated ,food is good one complaint i had last time was they used to have a table at breakfast for diabetics and gluten free like eg cakes and juices the juices remain but the cakes have been replaced by a x large plate of rich tea biscuits uncovered and no tongs to lift them with .All the staff are friendly and helpful from Isobella in reservations to Ana who cleaned our room. For quests who return to hotel frequently they always leave fresh fruit and water in room on arrival although last time they left wine instead but we dont drink bit disappointed we are back in December so if the manager is reading this no wine just fruit and water

I have been holidaying at this hotel for the past five years with my sister and I can honestly say it just keeps getting better and better. I have stayed at a few hotels along this coastline and none compare to the Don Pablo. We always go in September and there is a more older crowd then but they are usually very friendly people.
I find the contents of a previous review with regard to cockroaches very hard to believe. The standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaraunt is second to none as it is throughout the whole of the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and cleaned daily with clean towels every day and clean sheets at least every other day. The bathroom was fabulous. It had a huge walk in shower and always plenty of hot water. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis although we did have dinner one night. The food was lovely and plenty of choice. You must be a very picky person if there wasn't something you liked. The hotel is right beside the beach (which is beautiful) and only a short walk to the centre of town up St. Miguel Street ( a great place for sitting people watching). Loads of great eating places just along seafront from hotel. All in all a perfect hotel for a relaxing seaside holiday.
I would like to thank all the staff at Don Pablo, they went out of their way to make everything perfect. A special thanks though must go to the lady that cleaned our room (308) she was amazing and such a happy person always smiling.

Had a fortnight in this hotel in September 2010.Hotel rooms are a bit dated but quite large with free mini fridge and king size double bed. Rooms cleaned and towels changed every day.Food was very good although the waiters were not always very friendly, but perhaps that was because they seemed very short staffed.Outside combined with the sister hotels next door there are five pools with more than enough sun beds and plenty of shade if required.Drinks inthe hotel are quite expensive(3.95 euro,s a pint)outside available for 2.50 within 150yds of hotel .
Now for THOMSONS. On getting on the bus at the airport the rep asked if anyone was staying at the Don Pablo and another hotel ,she then told us there would be no rep at these hotels but if we needed to speak to one, she gave us a card with telephone number on.That seems o.k. until you look at the number given and realise is a U.K. number.Note on the card says that calls will be charged at international rates,or you can text for 50p plus your netwok charge.Thomson have for some time taken reps off coaches and if they take the reps out of the hotels I think should at least have a freephone number in case of emergencies.

Just got back from Don Pablo,,This time we was very disappointed with the hotel,
the first week the food was not very good, not much variation, the second week it was a bit better,
In the middle of our first week the cockroaches, decided to have the same meals as the guests,we saw them on top of the croutons, and one popped out of a cake,we brought it to the attention of the hotel manager,he removed away the croutons and replace them ,when we informed him about the cakes ,he had a look ,but the cakes where still for the guest to have,
I still think if the Sol Don Pablo got back it high standard as last year it would be a great hotel, their staff are very friendly and the rooms very clean,i would go back but not for a couple of years, and some of the entertainment was not as good as last year,

We were disappointed in the quality of the food on offer at night. The soup was completely tasteless and lacked variety , the salad bar was 99 per cent the most unhealthy mix of ready made concoctions, cold meat was non existent and the cheeses offered were greasy and rubbery. Most of the hot choices offered poor quality ingredients ,you could smell the fish a mile away , vegetables were seldom cooked properly. We filled up with fruit which was plentiful and we got by as best we could.
Compared to other Spanish hotels we have stayed at this year the restaurant did not compare favourably. However all was not lost as the entertainment was absolutely fantastic, the bar staff and the cleaning staff were second to none and reception was professional and helpful. There were plenty of areas to lounge around the various pools and all in all we had a very enjoyable two weeks and met some lovely people.

Just got back from a weeks holiday in the Sol Don Pablo in Torremolinos with my Mother in Law. The Hotel is comparable to other 4 star hotels we have stayed in the Malaga Costa del Sol region. Its best feature is the Hotels cleanliness - it was spotlessly clean throughout.

The rooms were average for the class of Hotel as was the food. We have based this on comparisons with the Principe, Angela and Yaramar in Fuengirola where we usually stay

Service was good generally.

Overall we would rate this as a reasonable 4 star Hotel

This hotel is right opposite the beach, which was our reason for booking it. We stayed here last September for 4 days and again this weekend past. Overall, we found it again to be clean, the food was pretty good and the staff are fine.
Our room on the 7th floor looking west, looked out to the sea. Having stayed on the 3rd floor on the same side last year, the views were better higher up! The room was clean and well maintained. Only gripe is the pillows are very soft and don't offer much support. Check the wardrobe for a spare one and that does it!
The evening food buffet is tasty with plenty of choice of salads, mains and puddings. The puddings are always fruit, ice cream and cream-based cakes. There's a good variety in the morning too with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and cooked meats, plus fry-ups if you like that. The juice in the machines is not great if you like fresh fruit juice, but you can pay an extra EURO 2 for that. Also the muesli is pretty awful and tasteless. They need to put out normal muesli, not a mix of other cereals with some oats in it! A minor thing I guess, it's just that I like muesli! Also, for the evening meal, the guy behind the counter is a challenge! He gets quite frustrated if you don't use the serving tongs the right way and will tell you so! It's kinda funny, but he could do with relaxing a bit and being nicer to customers. He was there last year too. Also guys, put a decent amount of meat in you tagliatelli bolognese! :)
We used the outside pool and thoroughly enjoyed that. The hotel is also right above some shops and cafes ,so you can buy bits and pieces, especially water, if you need it.
Overall I found the staff to be polite and helpful too, just not overly friendly, but fine.
By the way, last year I used the WiFi in the room and found it incredibly slow. This year was super fast! Loved it!
I would come back and stay here again, I like this hotel.
