My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August before heading off for a few nights in Malagueta.

This is one hotel of 3 in an adjooining complex. This is a positive aspect NOT a negative.

The room was very good with the best shower room I have ever had the pleasure to use in a hotel.

We were booked into the Don Pedro, but was just into the Don Marco as the 2 hotels are linked.

At this stage I am stopping writing as I suggest you review what tonyandmandy from Whitley say as I would only be repeating what they said.

All in all I would return as the location and facilities were great.

Room Tip: If you can be in the Don Marco bit it is better than the don Pedro

we arrived a little early but still checked in ok ,nice room plenty of wardrobe space bathroom spotless, we have stayed in the sister hotel before Don Pablo which is on the same site along with the Don Marcos .There are 4 pools and 2 kiddies pools no problems with the sunbeds plenty to go round and the hotel was fully booked .The breakfast in the morning is first class plenty of hot drinks and toast stations so hardly any waiting and the full english or cold meats cheeses are loverly this a quaility 4 star hotel .We only stayed Bed and Breakfast as we like to try local resturants which there are plenty. The safe in the room is 2 euro a day +5 euro deposit on return of key. There is no kettle so no tea/coffee ,they give you 2 room cards so leave one in so you can have the fridge and air con on but depending on the maid they would lift it from it slot so some times if you went out the room would be warm ,but air con soon brought it down quickly .The location is great just the road in front of the beach ane the beach sunbeds and cannopy 9 euro the beds have a 4 inch cushion so very comfoftable .Cannot praise the hotel enough cannot wait we will come again maybe try the Don Marcos next ,then would have stayed in all Sol Don hotels on the site

Just arrived back from a 5day stay with a friend at the don sol Pedro, what an amazing holiday we have had. From start to finish it has been fab. We arrived at 9.00pm to an easy quick check-in to a beautiful clean, modern twin room on sunny side, 4th floor room 465. The bathroom is massive with shower and bath with hairdryer and large mirror, room has double wardrobe lovely dressing table, the most comfortable beds ever and a little balcony enough for 2 with table and seating. There is Aircon you get two cards so leave one in to keep room cool and use the other.
We chose half board, you can eat at any of the several restaurants, we chose the Pablo restaurant as this was the larger one, the food was plentyful and very tasty, hats off for the chef they do a great job! so much to choose from for breakfast and dinner, full English the works!! The evening paella was fantastic and I must say to the manager Jamie Floyer you have some amazing staff working at your complex, very polite professional and helpful.
Many bars at the hotel, we took full advantage of the happy hours. Had some lovely cocktails from our favourite bar-man Louie. If you time it right you can catch all the happy hours throughout the day but the prices of drinks are quite cheap anyway.
The location of the complex is in a perfect spot, across the road to the beach which is beautiful, many shops, restaurants bars you name it. On the right you can walk all the way to marina benalmadena, you must do it, as the port is beautiful especially at night, there is a lovely Italian restaurant, you get free drinks from a bar nearby called Mombasa if you eat there, other places to visit are Torremolinos town (up lift 50cents) down lane of burger king. Malaga main town is a great night/day out (taxi 20euro), and if your young, then 24hr square at Benalmadena is good too but not for the faint hearted.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will be returning next year with my Whole family this time ;)

Room Tip: ASK FOR SUNNY SIDE (POOL VIEW) I stayed at floor 4, room465 was an amazing room with views. floor 5...

Just back from a week here with my Wife, both aged a young 50.

We didnt bother with paying for transfers after reading other reviews, jumped in a taxi, 20 euros and there in ten mins.

Firstly we arrived here at 9.30pm and without hesitation the receptionist got us to put our bags in the luggage store and gave us a piece of paper to go straight into the restaurant before it closed.
Following our unexpected dinner, which was lovely food , even though it was about to close, we continued to check in.
Athough we had booked the Pedro our room was just inside the Marco, they merge so well you dont even realise you have gone from one to another.
The room was perfect, yes they are not massive, but it was perfect for a holiday, beds, wardrobes , dressing table, plenty of storeage and hanging space, massive walk in shower, lcd tv with half a dozen english channels, small balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the from, so not affected by music etc from any bar.
LET ME NOW CLEAR UP A FEW CONFUSIONS WE HAD READING OTHER REVIEWS:

Safe in the room, 2 euros a night, 5 euro deposit on return of the key, which I think is normal for any part of Europe I have been, we read a review complaining you paid for a safe, well I have never not paid.

We did NOT pay for aircon, it was free with your own controls, as we had 2 room cards we were able to leave one in the room slot and leave the aircon on so the room was cool when we returned.

Soap/shower gel dispenser on the wall in the bathroom and in the shower.

NO kettle or tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Hair dryer in the bathroom, not the most powerful but did the job.

We were not leaving for the airport until 6pm, normal check out is 12 noon, but we paid an extra 25 euro,s to keep the room, this is not guaranteed, dut to how busy etc it is, you can only confirm this the morning of checkout. You always have the offer of the luggage store and use a shower room for free.

You can hire beach towels, which we did and I would say over 50% of others did too.
This was 10 euros a towel, which was a deposit and you got the full amount returned when you handed the towels back, so all in all free beach towels,.
However if you ever did want a fresh towel, it was only 1 euro to get a fresh one.

You are meant to use the Restaurant associated with your hotel, the Pedro and Marco share one , the Pablo has its own, however there is no problem if you want to use the other, but they are identical in menu,s, which is varied, great quality and always freshly made, Both have an Italian corner serving Lasagne,Various Pasta,s and pizza etc.
We found the choice of food at breakfast and dinner great, from cooked breakfast to cold meats , cheese, cereal, yoghurts etc for breakfast.
Dinner was always a choice of soups, various fish, meat and salad mains, along with cold meats, cheese, lots of different bread, followed by huge choice of deserts inc fruit , cakes, etc etc.

One thing to point out at Dinner, they do have signs everywhere saying they expect men to wear long trousers and no vest tops in the restaurant, which 90 % of people followed, if you wore smart shorts that wasnt a problem, it was more sports shorts and vest tops they didnt like, which I personally agree with, but you always have an ignorant exception.

The hotel complex is great, plenty of pools to choose from, a couple of great kids pools, a couple of pools for the accomplished swimmer, a couple of pools for the floaters and not so confident swimmer, where you can always touch the bottom. A couple of Jacuzzi,s thrown in.
Always sun beds available where ever you chose to spend your time, with only a small number of early morning towel reserveing sunbed hoggers.
A couple of pools had nice pool bars.
Plenty of lounge areas inside and out for having drinks etc day or night, with entertainment provided for both adults and children.

The complex was very clean, all staff were very efficient, although not the smiliest friendly people.

Would I recommend it , hell yes.
You are 2 min walk to the beach and promenade with its choice of bars, shops and restaurants, 10 - 15 mins walk to the town , where its adviseable to walk along to the Sol Melia, get the lift up the hill for 50cent each, do you shopping and then slowly stroll down hill, at the end of Calle San Miguel down all the steps with shops all the way down, makes life a lot easier.

In our opinion after walking quite a bit, it seemed the only hotel and complex we would entertain in the area, due to its location, cleanliness and facilities.
Ideal for all except groups of youngsters, not enough for them to do, but I think they have already got that idea, we found the place full of couples, mainly our age and up, with a few young families.

This is our honest review to help you enjoy and choose, hope you enjoy the place as much as we did.

Room Tip: If you can get a room at the front, its very quiet, you can pay for a room with a pool view, but thi...

Thank you for your excellent review Tony N. Excellent not because you enjoyed the holiday but because it is so complete and informative. I think this is really useful.
I have 2 small clarifications to make. First of these is that in the standard Don Pedro room (not the upgrade to Don Marco), the aircon is set at a fixed temperature. If guests wish to have a remote control they have to leave a deposit in Reception. We no not charge for airconditioning though, as you say. Secondly the dress code tends to be more relaxed in summer as there are people who prefer not to wear long trousers when it is hot. Shorts have to be smart though; and tank tops are forbidden in the dinner service. In winter we are much stricter about the code.
I am so glad that you enjoyed your holidays with us. I hope that we see you again soon.

My daughter and I booked this hotel based on previous Trip Advisor comments. We were not disappointed.

The receptionists were very helpful especially Manuel. We had emailed the hotel beforehand to ask some questions and these were replied to immediately by Luisa.

There are two restaurants for the 3 hotels. We ate breakfast in one and evening meal in the other. The food and service were good.

We always got a sunbed by our hotel. We found the pool good. I dont think it was heated but it was very hot when we were there at the end of August so didnt mind. That might be an issue when the weather is not so hot.

We found it useful to have free wifi in all the lounge areas and the Happy Hours were most welcome after a day in the scorching sun.

The main clientelle were Spanish and German. Not many Brits but some.

One night we got a taxi to Benemedena. It cost us 15 euros each way and was a nice place to visit with a lovely harbour.

On the whole we found the shows, entertainment team and gardens all good. The whole place was very secure. Would visit again.

Room Tip: When we arrived we had a roadside view on the first floor. We paid extra (about £50) to move to the...

entertainment was in pedro next to pool ,not very good ,but over in marco [i think it was marco] entertainment for children by animation team seemed good of what we saw ,entertainment for adults by animation team and others was of a good standard on most nights ,the elvis singer was very good.
hotel was preety full and made up of familys-couples -all nationalitys - all ages-no rowydism seen or heard in any of the complexs,no stags or hens seen
