It is the 3rd time I have stayed in this hotel, which we have enjoyed every visit. Although this year I have noticed that there is a more repetitive cycle of meals on an evening time and I only stayed the week. The soup was the same every night with a substitute was always an acquired taste - such as Gaspacho, Asparagus.
The hotel is still an overall good hotel which I plan to go back to, I just hope this problem will be solved!

Dear woodstock5,
Thank you for continuing to put your faith in us at the Sol Don Pedro. I am glad that you keep enjoying it.
I have taken your comments about the restaurant into consideration. We are always trying to adapt our menu to our guests' tastes keeping dishes that work well whilst trying to keep things fresh for our many repeat customers. We will be putting two soups every evening as of now. There will be a cream soup (which, although different every night is generally green or brown!) and a daily special soup.
I hope that on a future visit you appreciate any changes that we make.
Thanks again.
Kind regards,
jaime Floyer.

Just back after a 10 night stay here with my wife and 2 kids and we really loved it lots of pools to choose from loads of sun loungers never had any problem getting any. The food was excellent loads to choose from for breakfast and dinner. The kids club was a real hit with my eldest she loved it was there every day although my youngest is only 4 four and couldn't go but he loved mini disco at night I have to say all the entertainment and kids club staff were fantastic they worked really hard and my kids were always happy. Would definitely come back to this hotel hopefully next year. The only negative thing was the size of my room it was clearly a room for two people with the bed moved to the side and bunk beds squeezed in.very small. Went down to speak to someone and was told that was the room we booked he said it was because I booked it through another company (alpha rooms) so watch out for that make its the family room you get with a separate kids room. Apart from that it an amazing holiday.

Dear Paulscott79,
Thank you for your very positive review. I appreciete all your comments and really hope that we see you next year (when your youngest will be old enough to join the Mini Club).
As you mention, the majority of rooms in the hotel are designed as double rooms and we offer the option of putting an extra bed (or bunk at a push) for children. On the Melia website this is quite well explained but it is possible that not all sites describe the product as clearly. I am really sorry about the confusion and appreciate your understanding when you were here. We have a number of family rooms which have an extra room for the kids and two bathrooms. As they are quite limited in number they are not available through all tour operators. They are also a little more expensive.
Thanks again for your review. I am glad that the holiday was a success.
Kind regards,
Jaime Floyer.

We stayed here at the beginning of June 2014 for a week. We arrived at the hotel late evening and had a straightforward check in. The hotel is in a complex of three all set in beautiful gardens with a choice of pools with plenty of loungers to pick from....still get the saddos though who "claim" their spot with a towel at 7am in the morning despite notices to say not to ....whatever!!! If the pool isn't for you it is only a 2 minute walk to the beach with lovely comfy loungers and if you want waiter service for drinks and food to your lounger.
Our room was small but exceptionally clean and comfortable with effective air conditioning, in a quiet area overlooking one of the gardens and the balcony was a real sun trap in the early evenings.
We stayed half board the restaurant area was large with plenty of tables which were not all cramped together. The breakfasts were brilliant with lots of choice including omelettes made to your liking, big fat croissants, pastries, pancakes and really good hot and cold selection. The evening meals were good aswell lots of fresh salads, freshly cooked fish and meat plenty of other choices. Lots of fresh fruit and good choice of desserts. Paella was good but on the Italian selection area it was a little disappointing.
All the areas of the hotel were kept spotlessly clean. There were plenty of different areas of the hotel to just go to sit and relax all air conditioned ...it was quite hot when we were there!. However it was also just 2 minutes stroll to the promenade and the beach so lovely just to walk along the prom where there were lots of lovely bars and shops to have a little nosey around.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff were excellent and work really hard every day. Restaurant and reception staff were also very friendly and efficient one very helpful member of the reception team was Alberto who patiently helped me print off our return boarding passes.

Room Tip: Our room was on the third floor overlooking the gardens. It was quiet at night. Sitting out in the e...

Booked for 1 week half board. Family room 388. We instantly liked the room but not the view. The room was quiet , we did not hear any other noise from any rooms. Occasional noise from the rubbish and bottle collections at the back of the hotel but no bother really. There was no remote control for the air-conditioning and no power cable for the tv in the kids bedroom, but this was quickly rectified after a visit to the reception desk. Evening meal started at 18:15 which is a great time when you have little kids. The food was okay, enough choice for us to always find something to eat. The italian corner was disappointing, it could have been so much better with handmade pizzas instead of frozen and homemade lasagne and cannelloni. Breakfast was okay too, the fresh-baked croissants and Paloma's ( elephant ear cookies) were heavenly. Please please swap the concentrated fruit juices for a fresh orange squeezer machine ,its so much nicer.

Our favorite pool was the salt water pool in front of the restaurant. Our kids loved the kids pool and the big pool and they also loved looking at the frogs in the pond. The gardens are really nice and well kept. We had difficulty getting an afternoon snack at the hotel as the only choice was a toasted sandwich or chips. The one rainy afternoon we had we popped inside to the bar for a snack but we were totally ignored by Antonio ( short dark haired chap) so we went elsewhere.

We had a nice time, and we would come back as we really liked the feel of the hotel and the kids mini disco was a hit with our kids.

Room Tip: Rooms with odd numbers overlook the pool.

Dear michael h,
Many thanks for your review on TA and for having chosen the Don Pedro for your 10-day break. I appreciate your comments about the upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel.
The Sol Don Hotels complex is a busy place with lots of activities and is definitely not a hotel for someone who is only looking for peace and quiet. That being said, there are huge gardens with nine pools and sunbathing areas spread throughout them meaning that there are busier and quieter areas depending on your mood. At night there are two types of entertainment depending on your taste and also areas where one can be quiet to read or chat.
I hope, as you say, that you come back for a short break sometime soon. Thanks for your review.
Kind regards,
Jaime Floyer.

We have got back today from a long weekend stay here. We had a wonderful time. The staff were very accomodating and therefore cannot fault the service. Breakfast in the morning was good and plenty of it.
The pools were great lots of choice and very clean. The entertainment in the evening was fantastic. My 3 year old loved it. We especially liked the magic show and the Motown group.
Thus hotel is in a great location right on the beach and near restaurants.
My only downfall was the thin walls could hear toilets flushing, showers running, TVs and conversations. But I no this is not the hotels fault. We will definitely return here.
