My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 2-16 June 2014.The hotel was very clean staff were very friendly and helpful ,The room was a bit small but ok.The food was not as good as we have had at 2 other hotels close by that we have stayed at in the last 18 months. The queue,s at lunch time especially on the 7 June were the worse I have ever experienced ,we were supposed to be all inclusive but the queue was over 200 yards long and apart from that we could not find a table anywhere .So we ate out .someone should explain to the Spanish people that no one likes to stand in line and that if we all jumped in front of the other people waiting it could turn into chaos. Also there was supposed to be a dress code again it was ignored ,i do not mind if men wish to wear shorts at dinner but one man who was very large must have had the shortest shorts and the biggest Stomach and he only ever wore vests and shorts to dinner,I would never return to this hotel again in fact it has put me of going back to spain

Stayed here from 11th -18th June, 2 Adults and 3 Kids like others have said the apartments are dated but we need a kitchen with the kids so it done us fine, The hotel rooms are fab we seen one over looking the sea it was 5 star accommodation and ours was a 2 star... Food was ok, kids got it hard to fine something nice, burgers are frozen and only 1 evening we got a decent piece of chicken they should have better chicken on every evening, not legs all the time!! Entertainment was ok,, you could see that the staff worked hard at it but all the miming got to me and the kids always got fed up watching the show so we would return to our room..Kids club was fine but it was only on from 11-1 the 3-5 activities looked good but you had to oay for these my kids were so disappointed... Drink is way over priced and this is the reason we wouldn't return we don't mind spending on holidays but €4.10 for a beer in a plastic glass is a disgrace.. My husband is a Silver Melia member and we booked this hotel because silver members have a 2pm check out!!! We were not aloud to stay in our room we had to check out at 12pm and put everything in luggage room this was awful with 3 small kids it was a disaster, my husband has contacted Melia rewards and they are not impressed!!! All in all it was a nice holiday we won't return Sol Aloha Puerto is far nicer and cheaper so it will be back there next year :-)

Stayed here for 9 nights from June 4th to 13th, 2 adults and 2 small children. This was our second time staying here, first time was in April 2012. Overall, we had an excellent stay. The apartments, although dated, are functional and the little kitchenette has everything you need for making breakfast/lunch if you are on the self catering option as we were. Cleaners came every day and bed linen and towels changed at least every second day. Pool facilities are fabulous and most apartments have a decent pool view from the balcony. Free kids club from 11am to 1pm daily and the nightly poolside entertainment was top class, our 4 year old loved the kids mini disco before the main nightly show.
Many of the reviews i read were critical of the reception staff and waiting times before being able to check in/out, luckily, we did not experience this, in fact, while checking in, the girl informed us that the rate we had booked at was incorrect and that our total fee was, in fact, €90 less than what we expected to pay which was a nice start to the holiday.
All in all, we had a great stay and look forward to visiting this complex again.

We stayed at the Sol Principe from 4-11 June 2014 and had a lovely time.
The hotel was so nice and all the staff were nice too.
The entertainment was varied and the animation staff were really good with kids and kept them occupied, even though we didn’t have kids you could see they were entertained.
Food was nice with lots of choice, the staff at the snack bar were really friendly.
The large pool area is lovely and relaxing and very clean as was all of the hotel.
Also I hired a mobility scooter via the hotel for 3 days for £40 euros and £50 euros deposit, then I got the deposit back on the day it was picked up.
I have a bad hip and the scooter was a god send as it allowed us to visit Belnamadina along the prom which is wonderful, the guy that delivers the scooters speaks fluent English and is very helpful, so if you have walking difficulties and can afford one of these don’t hesitate, it will help you enjoy the sights comfortably.
Loved it here and would definitely visit again, please don’t listen to the negative reviews on this hotel.

Stayed here from 12th June till 14th June holiday was cut short to do death at home.
Have stayed here on many vacations and have to say from the checkin to dinning room to the bar the staff are so attentive and caring no problem to much food fantastic and plenty of veriaty of drinks.
I always use the Sol Melia internet web.to book as seem to get best price and loyalty points.
Any way I had to leave hotel early due to death of mum and the reception staff on duty could not do enough for me from getting taxi to trying to get me a refund for unused day,s even though it was not the hotels fault I was leaving,NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
HOPE HOTEL MANAGEMENT ARE PROUD OF THE STAFF THEY HAVE AS THEY ARE A CREDIT TO HOTEL EVEN THOUGH I HAD LOST MY RECEIPT MY CARD WAS REFUNDED WHEN THE OFFICE OPENED.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL YOUR STAFF JOHN MCHALLAM room2046

My husband, son and I have been going to this hotel for 20+ years. We recently celebrated two special family occasions there in a place where we have so many happy memories. The heart of this hotel beats because of the wonderful work of all the staff. The food is of a great standard with many choices. The shows in the evening are very entertaining. The children love the mini disco and it is a very happy place. Eating breakfast or dinner on the terrace with a view of the med is so special. Thank you all for the fantastic memories and of course we will be back.

Stayed here for a week in mid-June and can recommend this hotel to others with no doubt. The pool area is simply amazing, buffet catering is good both in terms of selection and quality. Rooms are not big, but you have what you need. Everything is thought through in terms of the facilities as well, also for families with kids. Decent entertainment in the evenings. If I need to point out drawbacks, for me it would be inability to get tea or coffee at the restaurant during dinner service. Taken into account that they serve cakes for dessert it is really weird you can't get the warm drinks, even for a fee. Maybe in Spain they don't drink tea/coffee in the evenings, but in the rest of the world we definitely do! Another spoiler for me was the beeping of the deposit box which drove me crazy at nights... It was beeping every third minute, roughly... both when open and when closed. It gave up a bit, but not fully only ehen I pulled the key out. The beeping was then not so often, at least. Seriously, something should be done about that! And at last, in terms of transport to the centre of Torremolinos and to Malaga, the staff couldn't provide me with the timetable for the local bus, so I didn't manage to figure out when it's going, so if you have to walk to the train station (the closest is La Colina), be prepared to walk for 40 min-s. Some reviews state 20, but proved to be wrong as I used 40 and was almost running. The location in terms of the beach is good, but you need to go in circke as thete is no direct gateway to the promenade and beach from the side of the hotel facing the sea.
