“Safety problem”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Just spent a week there with daughter and 12 yr old granddaughter. Public rooms very pleasant and very clean, staff friendly, food good and drinks very reasonable. Rooms clean and bedding changed daily. No entertainment for young ones day or night though. Onl;y problem was hotel rooms on 6th floor which was ok except that there was a large window with 2 outward opening windows opening out onto a 6 floor drop, had to lean out to close window, no lock on window so nothing to keep children from opening it. I asked if we could be moved but reception said no vacant rooms til the day of departure. Also it was too cold to use outdoor pools but the advertised indoor pool down in basement was not clean. There was sand or grit on the bottom and leaves floating on top. Round the sides where the water mark was there was a 6" grubby grey line on the tiles. I asked if it was safe to use and when it was last cleaned ,they said they would check but it wasn't cleaned until 3 days later when they cleaned the outdoor pools as the weather improved . We enjoyed the holiday but if I had younger children with me I would have refused those rooms as very unsafe.

Room Tip: ask for rooms facing pool area they have decent balconies and NO windows, just patio doors.

My wife, daughter (2 years old) and I stayed here last week (16th - 23rd) for a week. The hotel is great and we really enjoyed our stay. It is a little way from the centre but that fitted well with us. The food was excellent and the choice was great. We enjoyed the bar at the hotel where the drinks are reasonably priced. The down sides are that the beds where far too hard and I found my sides going numb at night meaning I had to keep on turning over and so not sleeping too well. Also the service in the restaurant was not that great. I often felt I was putting the staff out when needing a high chair or drink. Despite this we would return in the future.

Currently stopping here at the moment. Hotel location is excellent. The hotel itself is a little tired in places but that isn't really an issue particularly when it is due a refurbishment later in the year. What lets it down is the food. Breakfast is fine but the evening meal is disappointing with a very small choice of mains and as the week goes on more and more dishes are just a rehash of leftovers from earlier meals. It is hard to believe that this is a sister hotel of the Riviera where both the choice and quality of food puts here to shame.

The last time I stayed at Pez Espada, was about 1976, and since then have travelled most of Europe, And Egypt, and didn't think this week would even match up to first visit. I E Mailed and requested a sunny position with a nice view, which was granted, The food was very nice, nice selection every day, both at breakfast and dinner, The buffet area was kept exceptionally clean, the food was hot. The seating was very good, not all on top of eachother, The wine ( house) was very palatable, staff waiting on friendly and proficient, All public areas were very clean. Rooms were done early, which on the two inclement days was a bonus. The only niggle was my bed, it was so uncomfortable I didn't get much sleep !!!!! I hope when they do a refurb they will invest in new ones. Other than that I would certaintly recommend to anyone, Well Done Pez Espada

Have just returned from this hotel , was there for 1 week from 16/2/14 . Can't fault anything . Was on 6th floor ,we had two balconies one with a mountain view the other with a sea view . What an amazing sight to see the sun rise . Food , service , cleanliness were brill . Through the garden then through their own private gate you have the beach . An amazing holiday will definitely go there again .

Room Tip: 6th floor have a great view , sea view amazing.

Never been to this part of Spain before ...booked last minute and was worried about where it was located ....How wrong was I ! Excellent location.....Staff excellent .. maid service , service at the front desk ,Frankie's bar,and the restaurant . Couldn't have been in a better place ..right on the beach . Plenty of shops/bars to the left and right of the promenade
Plenty of variety of food at breakfast and at dinner ,,,the desserts were to die for ! (hence the diet starts today! )
Entertainment ... there was something every night .. but not to my taste , It didn't effect my holiday though
.Overall a great week and will returning .

Fantastic hotel, mainly for adults although they do allow children, food & service fit for a 5star hotel the New Years Eve 5 course meal & free bar is supperb, large lounge area with piano player in the evening.

Back gate takes you on to the beach with many beach restaurants and the Marina is close by, a very flat area so ideal for older or less abled people.

Room Tip: High floor has better view and less noise
