Booked this hotel in a very last minute break, read a lot of reviews after booking it that gave me the idea that the hotel and food were not going to be up to much. Prepared ourselves that it wasnt going to be of the standard we liked. Wonderful surprise . . it was really lovely. From the minute we arrived at the train station just opposite the air port we were approached by very friendly staff offering to help with purchasing our tickets and telling us how many stops we needed before departing the train. A short walk later and more helpful and friendly directions from the locals and we arrived at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful reception . .spoke very good English . . Our room was very nice . .very clean and a lovely view of the beach which was only across the road. We enjoyed the pool .. .really clean and chairs not too much of a problem . .good pool side snack bar and again really nice helpful and friendly guy working in it. We were all inclusive and the food in the restaurant was really nice with plenty of choice and lots of staff constantly tidying around and bringing out fresh dishes of food all the time . . you never had to wait if anything ran out. Yes it was busy but its a big hotel and so its going to be . .staff were always one step ahead of you getting you a table if it was very busy. I thought the choice of food was amazing, there would definatly be something there for everyone. Hotel location was great . . short walk to a few shops and a longer walk all on the flat to a bigger shopping area. We hired bikes which was wonderful as its so flat and a wonderful ride along the prom to the very end with loads to see on route . .definatly recommend that. Bike hire place about fifteen minute walk from hotel. Finally water park . . found it cheaper to go by taxi than bus . . also a lot less hassle as its not far but hard to get to. Pretty expensive to go in . .then got to pay for sun loungers as extra . . plenty of grass areas around which you can sit on and get shade from the trees. Rides very good . . something for everyone and plenty of life guards all over the place. Finally the beach across from the hotel is lovely and very clean . .sunloungers reasonable . . everything you need and all the usual fun things pedaloes etc. Would highly recommend this hotel for accomodation, food and location.

Room Tip: request quiet room if u dont like entertainment

I booked this hotel as 2 groups(2 rooms all inc)of 3 with adults and young children ages 8,10 and 14.We got off the airport train at LA COLINA,3 stops from airport at a cost of 1.85 euros each.A short 10 minute walk brought us to a lovely little bar/restaurant called RICON MARITIMO,great for a snack and a drink if your early for check in ,or on the way back to train.A further 5 minutes walk took us to the PEUNTE REAL.Very slight hill from train station, but in general all level plain.
We arrived at hotel just 2 minutes from the lovely beaches to a warm friendly reception, checked in ,got our wrist bands and we were away. The pool bar and pool areas excellent,no rubbish or dirt anywhere, all inclusive help yourself to drinks, with a staff member present to help, you and keep the area clean and stocked up.Pizzas were available from the pool bar outside main restauraunt times, along with an excellent guy cooking various bbq items fresh to order,he was amazing friendly polite.Main restaurant very good plenty of choice and a kids buffet, for the usual things kids like.Meats at the main restaurant were cooked in front of you,and not out the back.Lovely salad, deserts etc all in all excellent..
Entertainment was varied with plenty to do,in the pool, evenings and day time activities.
It has a sports complex out the back of the apartment blocks, for tennis ,football ,archery really good.Entertainment staff really good,We stayed at the hotel and not the self catering apartments, but the apartments do look really nice and modern as are the hotel rooms ample space for 4 people ,clean, toiletries etc. For Small children there is a toddlers pool 40 cm deep.
The hotel was inundated with cleaners who were very friendly and do a wonderfull job, bins around the pool and bar areas regularly emptied. The area of the hotel is reasonably quiet ,really clean , all on the level and about a 20 minute walk along the seafront towards torremolinos.Plenty of good bars and restaurants along the seafront and on the beach with bbq going most of the day.,all on the level ,this area and hotel is ideal for families and children,it is not a party animal hotel, which is good for those who enjoy a steady holiday.Hotel very mixed with Spanish,Germans and not so many english, sunbeds can be a battle but there are plenty of chairs that can be used from the pool bar,to the pool area.
I will not hesitate to stay here again,it is fantastic value for money.

Room Tip: all inclusive max 4 per room

We stayed at this hotel 6th - 12th June. The Hotel is very clean and we were always seeing them mopping the floor etc.
My children aged 3, 5, 8, and 10 went off to the kids club every morning from 10.30 - 12 and loved it. The entertainment team work hard to ensure everyone has a lovey time.
The Hotel is not really near the main shops which i would say is the only down fall but there is a bus stop outside and to get the but into the centre is 1 euro 20 cent which is nothing or about a 40 minute walk!!! The busses run every 20 minutes. The bar staff are friendly and there is always a lifeguard by the pool which is good if you have children. Snack bar is the normal burgers, chips etc but all cooked to order so its all fresh and not been sitting out all day.
Food in the restaurant is not as bad as people have said! there is normal egg, bacon etc for breakfast, Evening meal is 2 different soups, salad selection and hot meat ie, chicken in gravy, beef, potatos, veg and again good old chips!!!!

We would go back to this hotel as the kids loved it and staff were more than happy to help, when we booked in we had 2 rooms on seperate floors and they had no problem moving us..

Room Tip: dont pay extra for sea view as most have!

Our room was near the main building, some sort of (horrible) bungalows, not even deserving 3*. Obviously, they refuse us a better room.
Food was also terrible, at breakfast they served for 7 days same cheese and bacon of the lowest quality which even stray cats from surroundings wouldn’t touch it ... Obviously there’s some tight schedule at restaurant for every meal of the day and, if you’re not there with at least half hour before closing, staff is already picking up food from buffet ... so lame.
Hotel it’s far from the town and believe me, there are other hotels to look around.

Room Tip: self catering might be a better option.

First impressions on arrival was how busy it was and no real explation of the services etc. Room was fine. Sea view, good size, Camp style beds, but lovely balcony looking out to sea. Would reccomend there apartments, little more expensive, but overlook the pool and the pool was excellent. You do get what you pay for. San Miguel on all inclusive, only real down side was noise from other rooms. Another couple above came in drunk, 3am, They were noisy on balcony then it was like a porn movie with the noises of the "Ah" and the bed squeaking. Just glad it only lasted a little time. All inclusive shuts at 11pm, but its open downstairs until 12am. My honest opinion is the eating room is not big enough for the hotel. Food is repetitave, but its ok. Hustle and bustle trying to get a table and food. Still, I would reccomend the hotel. Timothy, one of the entertainment staff was awesome. He had loads of people involved. He was an asset to the hotel. Real friendly. We ventured out a bit a few nights. Pool really was lovely, room nice, staff friendly. Shame about the same food and hustle of trying to get a table and drink. Pool bar staff friendly. Would stay again. This is a 3 star hotel, not a 4. But for the money I would say for familes and couples, yes, its fine. You get a fridge and a hair dryer in the room which is lovely! Digital tv.
