“It is what you make it!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2012

We returned yesterday from a 7 night break. Bit doubtful before we left after reading reviews - and if we had read them before booking we would have avoided Puente Real..However, Yes the sunbed situation is, to say the least, unacceptable. But look at it through different eyes. The Pool looks much bigger on the website, and struggles to accommodate all guests - but we personally found it hilarious how people started putting their towels on the Parasols and around the chained sunbeds 'claiming' their territory! Hilarious!! So we left them to it and went to the beach immediately across the road every day. Wonderful. Very hot but lovely breeze.....4 days on a towel; final 3days on the sunbeds which cost 4euro each for the day. If only we'd done this from day One - def recommended and well worth it

Back to the Hotel, again, it's what you make of it. Admittedly we went during the Spanish Holiday so evening entertainment very 'spanish orientated' - but why not? It's their Country! You wouldn't expect a Spanish Theme night at Butlins! - We had no children with us, admittedly. For those going with young or teenage Children, maybe best not rely on the Hotel too much for evening entertainment and have a back-up plan. Although it's 'watchable' and girls can have their hair braided and boys can have tattoos...

Maybe a disco for the youngsters would be something the Hotel would consider. Near to the Reception, there is a large seating area from which we saw was hardly used. To introduce a disco here for all ages would go down a Storm :)

The Hotel was, as all other reviews state, clean. Cleaners on the go all the time. Well Done Puente.

The Food was lovely. Plenty of choice, breakfast 8-10am; lunch 1-3pm; dinner 7-9.30pm. Between these times, you can grab a bacon sarnie, chicken, hotdog, burger, chips from the BBQ area. Bit confusing when you order Pizza from the pool Bar...you order, then a bell rings, and you're not sure if it's you're pizza or someone elses. We would rather see a Ticket given and number called out. This is not a criticism, just a comment. Those who have been will understand..

We went when the Hotel was fully booked. The 'Queues' other people have mentioned - no great shakes. The dining area is busy, but not unorganised and chaotic. Grab your plate, get your food and find a table..not rocket science.

We would recommend this hotel. Especially the location. We didn't actually venture into the Centre, but found lovely local bars - just because it's 'all-inclusive' doesn't mean you're tied to the Hotel..i think some of the unfair comments may come from people who get their 'money's-worth' - warts-and-all ;)

As for Rating, some areas 4-star, some 3-star....

Final comment, the plastic glasses around the pool area and likewise the plastic plates from BBQ area - they all seem to go into general waste bins. Given the size of the Hotel, and taking 2 drinks per person each time, the amount of plastic used is pretty thought-provoking. Not that we're ageing Hippies- we're 39 and 44 (maybe old to some :o)

Our comment to the Hotel is - Please, please consider recycling this wastage if possible...

Lovely stay. Lovely food. Lovely beach..and good laugh at those 'sunbed fighters!!
Enjoy! xxx

Room Tip: Don't guarantee on a Sea-View..we didn't have one. But we did have a standard room after-all...

We stayed 10 nights and we were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. If there was one criticism of the hotel it would be the evening entertainment. Apart from the entertainment the room, food and drinks were great. There was always a good Choice of food and 2 of the dishes were cooked in the restaurant so it was always really fresh. As people who love to eat fish we were in heaven here as there was the most wonderful fresh fish every day. Other dishes such as pork chops, lamb chops, paella and many other lovely dishes and salads to choose from. Breakfast was very busy and was a bit of work but plenty to pick from such as bacon, eggs, omelet, sausages fried eggs and really nice coffee and fresh bread. Some mornings we skipped breakfast and went to the pool bar where you can get the most beautiful bacon and egg toasted sandwich cooked by the nicest girl who always had a smile for everyone even though she worked so hard. ( do try the chicken skewers they are fab ). The drinks work very well with the beer taps and coke machine on the outside of the counter and you help yourself. Spirits were served from behind the counter. As a treat we often went to the bar outside the restaurant b4 dinner where they make fab cocktails. Do ask for a green lagoon cocktail which the lovely girl who works at this bar created for my wife and I. Overall I loved this hotel and will certainly be returning next year.

We went for 10 days all inclusive with two boys aged 16, they were so bored especially at night, most nights they stayed in their room. during the day they had activiites to do which was great, but could do with a rep like the childrens entertainer to rally around the complex for teenage kids to do more activities, football and tennis is great but the heat was too hot to play. The sunbeds situation is rubbish they should allow all inclusive customer to have them first, it would save all the messing around.Other than that the hotel was very clean, food not bad, service great. I would go back with out the children.

We have been back a week from our all inclusive holiday. There were 4 of us all girls between 30 and 50 . Our 1st room had a problem with the door lock and we were moved to a fantastic room with no fuss and very quickly. The staff were fantastic and the hotel was very clean. The beach is across the road and is very clean. I would go back to this hotel with my family or friends a great time was had by all.

We have just returned from a week all inclusive at this fantastic hotel. We were a large family group ranging in age from 15 to 71!!!! The rooms were spacious, clean and fresh. Bedding and towels were changed every day in all four of our rooms. All the hotel rooms have aircon and a fridge which is great when travelling in July/August when it was 40 every day!! The pool area was great, beside both pools, although could have maybe done without the music at times! The all inclusive included all drinks, food, snacks and entertainment. We didn't really notice the entertainment much as it was really aimed at the younger children, although there was kareoke one night.
The food was great. Lots of choice and variety. The only comment could be that the vegetarian main courses could be improved. Lots of great salads, always fresh, fruit and cheeses. The wines in the restaurant were very good and on tap!!!!
The beach is dead opposite and nice and sandy with a good breeze. Just alone the road were a few shops and bars although torremelinos centre was a good 20 minute walk.
Would be most pleased to visit this hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are great but can be noisy until late evening.

Just returned from a week at Puenta real, We had a great holiday and have got no complaints about the room. It was clean and had tv , fridge & hairdryer. We arrived at lunchtime & had a walk down the promenade - we were not impressed with the area but as we were all inclusive we did not go out a lot and so it did not affect our holiday.

On the first morning my husband went down to the pool area at 8am to get a sunbed - this is where the fun started !! The sunbeds were chained up and he was met by groups of adults 'hugging' piles of sunbeds. He stood nearby and could hear numbers being shouted out by people (this being the number of beds they were taking). When the beds were unchained it was mayhem - people pushing & pulling sunbeds, arguing and displaying very rude behaviour.
Luckily, we met other British families later in the week and we all helped each other in a civilized manner with a little give & take so we could all spend time by the pool.

When everyone had fought for the sunbeds they they all went in for breakfast where another battle commenced. It was far too busy and you had to queue for everything - toast, coffee, juice etc.

We thought the all inclusive snacks and pool bar were great. The staff worked hard and were always polite & helpful.

All in all we had a great holiday but the hotel have to re think their sunbed policy as apart from the morning fiasco we witnessed several sunbed incidents by the pool which were not pleasant.

We came back from this hotel only yesterday. We were a family of 7 (all female) aged between 69 and 2 and not one complaint between any of us. My sister and I had 2 twin rooms with our 2 youngest daughters, we were fortunate to be on the top floor of the annexe building (the penthouse suites as we called it) fabulous view overlooking the sea and the pool. Rooms were excellent with hairdryers and fridges, and very large balconies, my sisters even went round the corner. My mum and my 2 nieces had a family room 2 floors down and on the other side of the hotel, balcony wasn't a 1/4 of the size of ours and they could hear people in the next room. But that was their only gripe.

The food was excellent a wide variety of choices each meal time, always a choice of fish, pork, beef chicken fresh salad, cold meats, cheeses, pasta, chips, potatoes, rice and vegetables every lunch and dinnertimes. Breakfast was excellent as well, choice of cooked or continental. We found that it did get busy after 9 as most people who had been queuing for sunbeds came in then. We just went earlier and there was no problem.

All the staff were helpful and friendly, we never really found we had to queue for anything, all wine, soft drinks, lager, hot drinks and ice creams were self service. You only had to go to the bar if you wanted spirits or slush puppies for the kids, and the staff were always quick at serving. The entertainment staff were brilliant, there was always something going on from 10 am to 11 pm and the mini disco was the highlight of the day for my 2 year old niece.

Now to the sunbeds, yes people did queue from 7 am to claim their sunbed any way they could. We found this very amusing as we sat on our balconies every morning watching the activities, we had already decided that if we didn't get one we would just go to the beach. We usually strolled out at 8.50 am after having a nice breakfast wait until they were unlocked and just get 6 sunbeds between us, we never had any problem and if you get the white plastic ones you found nobody wanted them anyway. We were always helped by others to get them down if they were stacked too high.

All in all this hotel is excellent, we all said we would go back there again

Room Tip: Top rooms of the annexe building are very quiet and have large private balconies. Rooms overlooking...
