Stayed here last year as we were satisfied with the hotel facilities,we were pleased that there standard had not dropped & once again had a very relaxing holiday. My only complaint is that they charge you for the use of Wi-Fi & I do think that they ought to make this facility free at least in the lounge/reception area as most 4 star hotels do provide this nowadays.

Holiday from 19th to 29th November. First class hotel, good food, varied choice (buffet style). Staff attitude was excellent. Room was large for class, clean with excellent maid service. Entertainment was ok but not very exciting. Location of hotel is approx 20mins walk from centre of resort, bus stop and taxi rank just outside hotel. Train station app 10 mins walk. Stay was all inclusive and overall was a very good value break. Would stay at this hotel / chain again.

Quite a few firsts for us on this holiday; all inc, RIU hotel, this end of Torremolinos, weekly spends below £100. We loved everything about this hotel, staff excellent, food scrummy (including the paella), free-flowing drinks plus always somewhere to sit and people watch. To say there are so many poor reviews about the entertainment, the room was packed every night we came in after our evening meal. When you've had enough of the hotel why not nip across the road to 'The German Paddy' bar where there's always a warm welcome, and they sell proper Tia Maria. We would highly recommend this hotel and have already checked out prices for next year.

Stayed at Riu Belplaya, 17th to 24th November, superb hotel, food great was very suprised at the choice, staff top class, rooms excellent and very clean,
the down side was the entertainment room has a capacity of 200 people, and there is 700 guests likely to try and get in, people were blocking fire exits with seats, ignorent people blocking the bar area, making it harder to get drinks.
When we booked we requested high floor, did not get, we was given ground floor, opposite to a building site, being woken up at 7 30 in a morning, couldnt move as hotel full, First Choice rep didnt want to know unless you wanted to book a tour with them at outrageous prices.
Shame on you First choice for NOT telling us about the building site we had to put up with for a week.
Would I go back to Belplaya, most definately yes, if only we had been told about the building going on

Room Tip: Ask holiday company about building works

We really enjoyed a one week Value for Money Break at the Hotel Riu Belpalaya in Torremolinos(Spain). We stayed on an All-inclusive basis in Room 403 on the 4th floor from 10th to 17th of November 2013 through First Choice Holidays. We requested for a room on the 3rd 0r 4th floor in advance and the room was ready when we arrived. Check-in was very smooth even we all arrived around 1 pm where as the usual check in time is 3pm..The twin rooms are fairly large with ample storage space, spotlessly clean. good size balcony with a nice exposure to sun. Interior décor in the room ,bath room fittings TV, Mini-fridge are all aging but reasonably maintained. Very poor Air-conditioning supplemented by ceiling fan. The partition walls are very thin and you have to mind your TV volume and your voice in the night. The maids do their best and will impress you by their towel animation skills. When it come to the food the breakfast is complete with all what you want .One will definitely appreciate the hard work of the chef (girl) in the warm food station , cooking of sorts of eggs, omelets, bacon, sausages , etc single handed at the same time running from one burner to the other. The breakfast is served from 8am and if you need a cup of coffee before 8 am .you have to wait till 8am. For lunch and dinner even though the items are repetitive but there are more than enough dishes to choose from..Vegetarian choices are very limited. Fresh fruits and the deserts are almost the same everyday but there are about 20 or more items . I do not think that any guest at the Belpalaya will leave the dining room hungry. If you are looking for any Chinese food like Fried rice or spring rolls forget about it. The waiting staff are very efficient in removing the used plates quickly and making it tidy with a smile. The all inclusive red wine really needs up grading in quality. Many guests during my stay are from Belgium and Germany and they all nice and friendly if you speak to them . The evening entertainment .is no body’s cup of tea as most guests are seen either playing some sort of table games or having a Pub chat while enjoying an all-inclusive drink. The bar staff are very friendly and you can try different cocktails. You can also get free bottled water from the bar. The reception staff are very friendly and wonderful in giving directions and local information’s . My only concern is that the elderly lady receptionist folded my passport just above my the passport picture just to hold it near the key board to enter the number in the computer when we checked in. This has left a permanent fold mark on my passport as if someone had tampered with it which I do not appreciate. Places to visit are Fingorrila , Benelmadena, Torremolinos Town and Malaga, Take a train ride to the above places from Lacolina station which is about 15 minutests walk away from hotel. You may also go on a day trip to Gibraltar for 15 Euros from the hotel. Lovely Hotel, good food . nice promenade to stroll , great beaches and is a great value for money. Will I go back again Yes

Room Tip: Request for a room on or above 3rd floor

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights it was a large birthday party. Food was good, entertainment was ok, cocktails were pretty bad. The worst thing for us was the incredibly thin walls I kid you not from a screaming child every morning at 4.30 to the slamming of wardrobe doors, it was awful. Tis bel really does cater for Germans also who are incredibly rude. Also don't visit the eat and drink pub veer the road for a change as the English barman was obnoxious to our crowd one evening despite us spending over 150 Euros.

Would. I return to this hotel at all if you paid me.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs walls thin
