“Not what I was expecting.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

I have just returned from Royal Costa Hotel it is not in torremolinos it is 2 train stops away in Las Alymos. I was dissapointed with the isolation of this hotel around the pool area was very noisey with planes going over constantly trains in the back ground and the constent noise of the parakeets this is most definately not for anyone who like a quiet relaxing holiday. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was very limited and no varation over the course of the week also the entertainment was dissapointing due to the language barrier as they spoke in ther native language disregarding other quests. The beach was a 20 minute walk from the hotel going through a underpass also crossing a main road which for elderly quest would be a problem.

Very close to Los Alamos train station (3 min walk), close to the beach as well (10 min walk). The room was clean and made everyday if needed, air con, TV, bathroom, balcony. The food was alright, not the best, you could always find something to eat. I am glad to have gone half board as the best food we had was in the restaurants of Torremonilos!

We have enjoyed stay in this hotel, everything was fine except two thing. First was oversalted rice and meat the whole 10 days we were there. And the second when we asked where we can shower and change before our flight last day (we left room at 12am and we were waiting up to 7pm) the young boy on reception looked at me as I am mad what I want. They had no any shower except the cold one outside in swimming pool. I argued I just arrived from beach and I don't want to sit next 7 hours with sand, he told me to jump to swimming pool and change on toilet. It didn't seem to be very profesional. The whole 10 days were very good and we were happy, only the last second before leaving hotel the way how the receptionist talked with me made me feel uncomfortable.

Listen this is not a hotel that offers all the plentiful foods at breakfast lunch or even dinner. The food is basic, you wait in line to get served which can be 14 deep . The bottom line clean and safe, but don't expect a "bargain " as said u get what u pay for. Hope this helps

Stayed for a 3 night short break AI. It was my first trip abroad with my fiance. I Was impressed by the welcoming attentive staff. Our room was lovely and clean with an outstanding view of the sea. Yes this hotel is next to a railway line but the trains are electric and quiet. Here's the advantage - because of the railway line the hotel is not overlooked by other hotels. This means the pool gets 12 hours of unhindered sunshine! The station is 5 minutes walk away and you can get to Torremolinos town for 3 euros 50 return..it is two stops away. The trains are clean and air conditioned. The hotel is situated outside of Torre and the beach is about 20 minutes stroll away. It wasn't a problem for us but may be for others.
Back to the hotel....Rooms were cleaned every day, as were all other areas. The pool was cleaned every day and the water quality tested regularly. It is a deep pool but there is a splash pool for little ones.
All inclusive ran from 11am to 11pm but if you really wanted longer I think you could pay but we just took our drinks to our room and sat on the balcony. There is plenty of room around the pool for sunbathing. If the sunbeds ran out there are well kept lawns to sit on.
The communal areas around the hotel are clean and modern as are the original artworks on display.
The dining area is sufficient..this brings me to the food...there is a varied menu available with a themed day..Italian, Mexican and Asian ..they also offer Andalucian ... There was always something you could eat. Food temperature could have been a bit warmer but there is a microwave for you to blast it if you want.
Entertainment was a bit..... they did try and break up the day for the kiddies and there was bird and reptile show amongst other things..
The hotel also has a colony of Monk Parakeets which nest in the palm trees...it was unexpeted to see them!
All in all it was a lovely stay..by the time we worked things out it was time to go.. would go back there for longer. We stayed in room 616 facing the sea.

Room Tip: High floor facing the sea...616. You can see the railway line but look beyond that..

On arrival we were allocated our room straight away, view wasn't very good from balcony so popped straight back down to reception and asked for a pool view which they gave us no problems. Rooms clean and comfortable and maids came in everyday to change bedding and towels.
We stayed half board and the food was ok nothing special we were surprised that for the evening meal it didn't include a drink u had to buy one, if u wanted water like I did it was 2 euros but at the shop round the corner they were 50 cents so after first night I used to grab one from there first. Pool area ok and never struggled to get a sunbed any time of the day.
Location is a bit quiet and not a lot to do beach is about 10 minute walk away. The trains are great though and we used them regularly very easy and cheap. We cancelled our transfer back to the airport and got the train so we didn't have to leave as early and it takes u straight there in about 5minutes, definitely wouldn't bother getting transfers by bus if we go again. Overall we had a great time and I would visit again.

I was very pleased with the hotel on arrival, very clean and well presented and the staff friendly and accommodating and the check in painless.
The rooms were just what you would expect, Clean, tidy and the air con was welcomed. The bathroom had a large bath and a shower, so the choice is yours.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the bedding changed.
The poolside bar was good and at times understaffed, however whilst on holiday who can not wait a extra few minutes. The pool is large and clean.
The food was of a good standard with a good mixture for all, and no complaints from my two grand children, 3 and 8.and we were all inc.
There is not a lot in the immediate are, however The beach is a 10 minute walk and Torremolinous centre a good 40 minute walk, however the train station is a couple of minute walk and its 3 trains a hour and very cheap to use as is the local buses.
My only gripe ? the entertainment it lacklustre and limited in the day time for adults and children, no real motivation to get up and join in !
In general we all had a great time at this hotel and we would book again without hesitation.
