“Good Hotel Group, Good Value, Good customer Service”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

We came back a week ago from another excellent holiday at this group of hotels, Don Pedro, Don Marco, Don Pablo and again were not disappointed. We have holidayed here before and always find the cleanliness of the hotels, restaurants, pools and public areas to be good and always seems have ongoing maintenance though never enough to trouble the guests. There is always plenty of sunbeds and plenty of areas to stretch out as well as a choice of pools. They have a good towel hire for the pool areas, this saves costly space in your suitcase. The food is good, sometimes a bit repetative but you can always find something to your liking. You can also eat in the other restaurant for a change. Daytime activities and evening shows are ample for a relaxed break in the sun and local transport is on hand for trips further afield. The 3 hotels are on the promanade across from the beach where there are bars & restaurants and a couple of good Irish Bars nearby. There is a mini club but I would say there is perhaps not enough here for an older child or teenagers The staff are excellent and always willing to help wherever possible. We will be back again in July

Room Tip: If your room is not to your liking just speak to the desk and if it is at all possible they will mov...

Thanks for taking the time to write your report on TA maureen s. I am glad to see that you enjoyed another holiday at the Sol Don Hotels. It is very satisfying to have repeat guests and we hope that we manage to keep satisfying you.
Last year we added a new element to our summer entertainment programme as a result of guests' comments. As well as the Mini Club (5-12 year-olds) we have added the Teenager Club. It is more informal and is really deigned to bring the teenagers together to play a bit of sport and get to know eachother. It worked very well last year and we will reintroduce it for the school holidays this year.
Thanks again for your report and your repeat custom.
Kind regards,

After two previous visits we decided it would be an ideal hotel complex to take our two daughters and their families, which included five grand-children aged 10 to 3 years old; to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary year. The reason for our choice was the excellent location opposite the beach and close to local shops and bars; the variety of swimming pools, including indoor; excellent food choice; onsite entertainment both day and night; cleanliness of the complex and last but least the friendly and efficient service given by the staff.

We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful holiday at the complex and mainly due to the fact that each families needs could be met within the hotels. For example, one family enjoyed the beach while the other enjoyed the pools. This variety meant that eveybodies requirements for a good holiday were met. We would highly recommend this complex for families and couples alike. Thanks to Sol Hotels and their staff.

Room Tip: Book early for the family rooms in the Don Pedro they are the best in the complex.

Just recently home from Torremolinos and our favourite hotel Sol Don Marco. The Marco is one of three Sol hotels on the same complex and the restaurants (2) and facilities of the three hotels can be used by all residents. Our favourite is the Marco - quiet, 4 levels and no problem with lifts. The room is excellent - balcony, fridge, TV , BBC1/Sky, c/heating or air/con depending on season, security safe. Bathroom with bath and walk in shower cubicle, piping hot water. Bedding and good supply of towels changed regularly if not daily. Room cleaned every day. Restaurants (buffet) have an extensive choice and you will never leave unsatisfied. All staff are efficient, helpful and friendly and many are pleased to see us return. The manager Jaime Floyer is extremely pleasant and has been very kind to us. The complex is immaculate, well maintained and a pleasure to be in. For those who wish, there are activities during the day and some excellent entertainment at night. The complex is well situated, 50 metres to walkway and beach. You can walk in either direction and all the way to the Marina in Benalmadena if you like to walk. There are many cafes, beach cafes, small shops with larger shops in the street San Miguel heading towards the bull ring and the weekly market. We have been going to the Marco for many years and as you can tell, we love it ! My wife and granddaughter are heading there on June 5 and she and I will return later in the year when the summer heat has subsided.
Try it, you will not be disappointed !

This is was our first trip back to Torremolinos for many years and our first visit to Don Marco. We found the hotel very conveniently situated for walking. The food generally very good, plenty of choice and well presented. We had a sea view room which was a good size and to those who might have difficulty with a bath there was an excellent walk in shower. The gardens were very well kept and pleasant to meander around, plenty of pools around the complex, a little cold in May but we made use of the indoor pool. Each pool had sunbathing areas and plenty of sun beds which meant there was plenty of private space if required. Overall our experience meant that should we wish to come back to Torremolinos we will not hesitate to book at the Sol Don Complex.

Room Tip: Sea view room in Don Marco had morning sun but it could be a little chilly in the afternoon. Pool vi...

Not been to Torremolinos for many years and was glad that it was not as bad as I remembered. Hotel was in good location away from the cheesier part of the town. Good base and worth the $96 per night charge.

Dear barking1RedondoBeach,
Thank you for taking time to write about your stay in Torremolinos. I would love to know when you were last here as you don't seem to have very fond memories! It is certainly true that in the 80's and possibly part of the 90's, this was something of a party town but it is now very much a family tourist town with great restaurants and good shopping. The night life is mostly pretty calm, although there are clubs in nearby Puerto Marina for those who like to see the dawn from the dark side.
I hope that you might be back again in the future.
Kind regards,
Jaime Floyer.

We had the pleasure of staying in Sol Don Resort in Torremolinos In Don Marco for 6 days. The room seemed slightly smaller than the Don Pablo room we had stayed in on a previous occasion, but plenty big enough, with a fridge and a safe. We were in room 4039 a high floor room facing the pools. The décor was spotless and the bathroom was very clean, with a lovely powerful shower. Individual a/c unit very effective and not noisy. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel was of a very high standard. Every member of staff we came in contact with was cheerful and helpful. We spoke to many ‘returners’ who have been coming back for many years, which is obviously complementary for the resort. The meals in both the restaurants was of a good standard, with lots of choice. Among the many choices, the only thing we found not so good was the spinach, which we found to be overcooked and tasteless even with the seasonings. How about some peas :-) The grounds and the pools were kept to a very high standard, with plenty of beds and umbrellas. We took the local train from Torremolinos station in the town centre to Fuengirola 7.80 euros for 2 people return. Very clean and bright trains and only a 20 minute trip.
One word of warning with regard the Beach Bar Los Corales directly opposite the beach entrance, this we found this to be the ‘tourist trap’, charging for dearer versions of spirit than was actually served and for us also larger coffees than was ordered, hence an advertised Coffee and Brandy at 3.50 euros became a magno brandy at 4.50 and 2.00 for the coffee, and a glass of cola was 2.50, we also spoke to a couple of ladies outside that were charged 19 euros for 2 toasties and 2 cups of tea. You only get caught the once, however forewarned etc. There are plenty of other more reasonable places to chose from. We had a wonderful short break at this resort, and without doubt will return next time we come to Torremolinos.
PS: Just remembered, their garbage men come around 6.00 pm clearing containers of rubbish and GLASS, much better than 4.30 in the morning, which happens in some hotels. Well done the management for the foresight in arranging this.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pools get the evening sun.

Dear Hollyday234,
Thank you for your wonderfully complete report on your stay with us. There is some really useful information in it for other travellers. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay so much and that you have returned to the Sol Don Hotels complex.
I will take note of your comment regarding greens in the buffet. I am afraid that I cannot take credit for the garbage collection time - the Town Hall organise that! I have to say though, that the Town Hall is very aware of the importance of tourism and works hard to help us offer an excellent service and experience.
Please come again soon.

Stayed in March. Very nice setting and paid extra for beautiful sea-view. Room was small but didn't lack anything. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Had to go to sister hotel Pablo for breakfast but not too inconvenient. Wife coeliac and she was very well catered for at breakfast and the one evening meal we had. Found that evening meal a bit expensive so only once - would recommend you getting a half-board deal. Would return.

Room Tip: book half board

Dear alleycatNIreland,
Many thanks for your choice of hotel and for taking time to post a review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay.
It is becoming incresingly important to cater for different dietary requirements so we have special products for coeliacs (cereals, breads and pastas, for example), as well as low-fat and low-sugar options. Obviously with as varied a buffet as ours there are always vegetarian choices and healthy eating options. Those that have no special requierments can also tuck into pizzas, pastas, all kinds of hot and cold buffet options and a varied dessert table!
Thanks again for the review. We look forward to welcoming you agin in the future.
