“Good time again”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

This is our third time here, good location and luckily, good weather. Nice touch once you've checked in that there's a glass of cava and dried apricots I'm not sure why they are called suites, as really they are fairly standard hotel rooms. I had a look at the sea view rooms for 10 euros a night, but didn't particularly think it was worth it, as we ended up with a room at the back anyway. There were steps down to a sitting area, with a large unit with a flat screen TV on it. The doors are very thin, and you can hear peoples conversations as they are walking down the corridor. The air con blew right into our faces when we were in bed, so ended up turning it off. There must be a problem with the plumbing, as I kept hearing a knocking noise, which went on through the night a couple of nights. Beds and pillows comfy. We found the food to be fine, good choice and changed every night. Staff were friendlier than the last time we were there. For the breakfast, I reviewed the orange juice on our last visit there, its still terrible, why can't they just provide jugs of juice? The sunbathing area on the room was very impressive, not easy to get a bed though, we ended up paying for beds on the beach at a dutch place and included in the price was a free drink and towels. We both had a back massage for 5 euros each off one of the chinese people walking along the beach. Overall though good time.

My husband & I arrived home today from a long weekend at Hotel Roc Lago Rojo.
We had a junior suite on the 4th floor. Lovely room with really comfy beds.
We weren't very impressed with the food, seems geared towards the german guests., we'd hoped for more authentic spanish fare.
We were quite shocked to be charged €2.10 for a 50cl bottle of water to have with our meal. So we checked the bar prices too.........hence we paid the local supermarket a few visits instead, along with some local bars too.
We had quite abit of hassle with our keycard, but this was eventually sorted.
The AC in the room could heat as well as chill the room.
We were very lucky with the weather too, it was glorious in the day & rather nippy at night
We'd had a great deal for half board & flights. We wouldn't think twice about staying at this hotel again & the resort it amazing

stayed here for 5 nites myself and husband 17th nov, Normally if I book a holiday I go for 4 star hotel because we cant afford 5 star......
this hotel has a four star rating how? more a 2 TO 3 star.
It had some good quality like food in restaurant do a little bit cold they had a microwave in the middle of dining hall a well used microwave as most people like there food hot.the staff were pleasant enough, the room we had was on 4th floor,
but for an extra 10 euro a nite u could stay in the 4 star accommodation on 5th floor....
the room we had was very dated could do with lick of paint and brighter decor, the towels were well worn do clean. so wake up a roc lago and do the rite thing as the map on the beach front have you down as a 3 star hotel. so no wont return to lago hotel but we do intended to go back to Torremolinos.

Food in Restaurant was good overall bearing in mind it is buffet style.
Restaurant staff work very hard but had time to be pleasant as well.
Special requests in Restaurant were never a problem for the staff.
Room cleaning service was a little disappointing, as room might not be cleaned even 5 hours after requesting same, with request form left on the outside door handle.
Mr. Grumpy, who works sometimes at the front desk, should be repositioned where he has no contact with the public whatsoever.

We had a three night stay in this hotel for our first wedding anniversary. The location is superb, 50 metres from the beach and 30 metres to the main promenade where the shops and eateries are located. We were on the first floor in a junior suite which was very nice and clean. The room was serviced daily and towels changed. The roof terrace was beautiful with magnificent views of the whole resort. The sun loungers were excellent quality and had very thick, comfortable mattresses on them.. We only had breakfast in the mornings and dined out locally the rest of the time. Breakfast was varied and well cooked. It was very busy when we were there with mostly Germans and Finland nationals who could be quite noisy. The staff were very efficient and friendly. We were very impressed and will be staying there again.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Stayed in sept 2013, on the 4th floor room 410. Hotel is in a great position, 50 metres from the beach, with a very nice roof terrace. However, the room was very noisy, you would could hear the bathrooms of the next door and the suite above, as well as the doors being very thin and you can hear everyone coming and going, often very late at night and early morning! Breakfast was limited and got boring very quickly and was mostly focused on a German market! Good hotel, needs to sound proofing and the breakfast could do with an update!

Room Tip: 5th floor have the best views
