Description: There shouldn't be any problem finding this restaurant. It must be (one of) the best restaurant(s) in Granada. Fabulous Spanish cuisine. The ambiance is typical Spanish and seriously lacks atmosphere but with those for whom divine food is of more importance than a vastly inflated price for a view of the Alhambra, they will not be disappointed.

“Happy Lunch Experience”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

As part of a tour group we lunched on a set menu featuring the best of Granadian and Andalusian cuisine. The ambiance was great and the courses were of good quality and generous size. The house wines were also of good quality, and the service was professional, resulting in a happy dining experience. Recommended.

“Granada's Sacred Cow... trust me on this one...”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Granada is a city well known for its extraordinary Spanish and Moroccan fusion cuisine and mostly for being the Tapas capital of Spain. This 'Florence' of Spain is the home to many good and solid bars and restaurants... but all too often some tend to be a bit heavy for our aging organisms...
Las Tinajas is the point of reference of what this cuisine was, is and should be. Its varied menu
offers everything from the freshest legendary shrimp of San Lucar to the most ancient recipes
of 'Rabo', the famed Spanish Ox tail.. the origins of the Mexican dark 'Mole'. This is where the locals, from politicians to entrepreneurs to families, go to enjoy their everyday family or business lunches and dinners as well as special occasions as well as unique 'jornadas' (culinary events). The utmost care goes into the selection of each and everyone of their ingredients and their wine list is exceptional with special attention to the house wines - Pepe, the owner has his own winery. So let either Pepe or his son Jose or his daughter Silvia
advise on what just came in and from where and you will enjoy delicacies and unique natural
ingredients from every corner of the peninsula. I have been a patron for over 7 years ... and they have never flinched. But be advised... this will end up being your one meal of the day.
Finish with their strawberry almond cake... and a shot of Don Felipe.

“I'd give it one star but for the entertainment value of the angry staff”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

On a family trip through Spain in June of 2014 the receptionist at our hotel in Granada recommended we eat at Las Tinajas. Now, when we are traveling abroad, we work hard not to be ugly Americans but we are still Americans. That seemed to be all the staff at Las Tinajas needed to know.

As soon as we arrived, we were immediately placed in a back room with all other English-speaking guests. Our attempts at Spanish, which were met with some combination of amusement and appreciation throughout Spain were met with anger and disgust at Las Tinajas. We had an older waiter who was visibly annoyed to have to deal with us, which is where the only saving grace of the meal was to be found. He was so angry as to be delightfully entertaining.

Our server banged glasses angrily as he poured drinks, came to the table and proclaimed four times, each angrier and louder than the last, "Art-i-choh-kays!" Until we finally understood he was demanding to know who amongst us had the gall to order the artichoke salad. The food was slightly better than cafeteria fare. Nothing noteworthy, although the house rose was pleasant.

In a most un-Spanish way, they hurried to help us be done with our meal and out of their presence. We gladly obliged. I advise you to find another place to eat on your next visit to Granada.

“Worst meal I have ever had”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Don't visit is my advice, this was the worst meal We have ever had. As it was my birthday,my husband thought he'd treat me to a meal rather than our normal choice of tapas, how I wish we had stuck to those tapas!
Wine was mediocre.
Service was non existent
I can't describe the food it was so disgusting. Save your money stick to tapas
