Description: At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect for the traveller that loves to soak up history. Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts. All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines. The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors. All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this. We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the dishes in the restaurant. We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.

We took a seat the terrace to have a wine firs. It took the grumpy waiters very long time to come to us. We asked questions about the wines which the waiters unwillingly tried to answer. After us choosing the wine it took the waiter another 15 movies to show up to take the order. When we told him that we wanted to have some wine first and order later he told us that you must eat here and this send us away.

We stayed in an apartment a few doors down & couldn't eat out as heavy rain and with a baby. Asked for takeaway. No problems! The food was lovely and it was ready 5 mins after going to collect. They were very helpful and we really appreciated the good meal! Thank you!

You couldn't ask for a better location. We ate a lovely lunch on a warm Monday afternoon. The wait staff was attentive & friendly. The lamb cous cous was a delight. So many levels of flavor, and more than enough to satisfy. The lamb cutlets were well seasoned with prefect roast potatoes and roast peppers.. desert and a cafe con leche.
We never felt rushed.
No visit to the Alhambra would be complete without a visit here

We had a simple, set lunch here with beer. All very nicely done, friendly service and as other reviewers have said a great view. Probably the best of the restaurants along this stretch, but little to differentiate them.

In Granada there's hardly a street or square where you can't eat. But it's hard to find a place that serves real food instead of the usual tapas. Our best experience was restaurant Ruta del Azafran on the banks of the Darro, not significantly more expensive than the other restaurants we tried, but so much better than the rest. Including a great view of the Alhambra.
